90’S BIG BLOW-DRIES 90’s big blow-dries are getting a huge revival thanks to our gen Z clients. Bring out the round brushes and roller sets for ultra-volume looks. Clients are wanting the 90’s supermodel faceframing, layered, bouncy blow-dries - think 90’s Cindy Crawford or ‘Kaia Gerber’s mum’ as the gen Z-ers say.
TOP TIP Apply mousse to the roots of the hair and blow-dry the hairline section high but towards the face for a modern take on the 90’s look.
LAID-BACK PIXIE CUT 60’S FRINGES The need for clients to cut their own fringes during 2020 has led to a fringe movement. Cheekbone grazing with a messy bun and short and blunt fringes, are the most requested.
TOP TIP Make sure the fringe complements your client’s style - is she laid back, bohemian and beachy or is she suited and booted and likes her hair sharp and structured.
Think soft, air-dried, alluring, effortless and super-cool for this cut. 2020 taught us the ‘big chop’ is not a trend it’s a movement and we’re going to be seeing loads more pixies this season. The laid-back pixie is a sister of the shag cut — it’s layered and structured but at the same time minimal product and styling is used and relies entirely on the natural texture.
TOP TIP The refining should be done with a razor. Keep it soft, bespoke and personalised.
