Tobias Ellwood MP New Year Message

We spoke to Bournemouth East MP Tobias Ellwood and asked for his thoughts on Southbourne and it’s outlook in 2011. “As Southbourne plays host to an increasing number of independent businesses it is cultivating a distinct identity of its own. For this we owe thanks to a number of people for their hard work and to the efforts of the Southbourne-on-Sea Business Association who bring a great deal of support to all businesses in the area, be they shops on the high street or people working from home. I am delighted that the Association is rolling out new initiatives, such as the “Shop locally Campaign” which aims to draw more attention to the immediate area. And I have no doubt that new arrivals on the scene such as the Ludo Lounge, which now occupies the old Woolworths shop, will appeal to shoppers and compliment the established coffee bars, cafes and eateries. They are all ideal places to meet with friends, or to do business, before heading off to explore the local shops. Having recently met with Heather Martyn, the Association’s co-ordinator and Carol Butler, Business Support Manager of the Bournemouth Chamber of Trade and Commerce, I look forward to a discussion forum in the New Year when we will be able to exchange more ideas as to how we can improve the area for businesses and residents. This will inevitably involve us rolling up our sleeves and getting stuck in. All in all, the area has a terrific amount going for it and I look forward to playing a part in building on our Tobias with David Cameron progress in 2011.”

Top of the Chops Hairdressing at Southbourne Chop

Southbourne Chop with its seaside theme, driftwood and unique styling takes individual to a new level. We spoke to Emma to find out what its all about. “We’ve been open for just over four years now and have built up our reputation as a friendly local hairdresser with our relaxed style.” We asked Emma what she thought about Southbourne, “The area itself with miles of beaches, individual shops and community feel makes it a well kept secret almost. The individuality of the businesses and the great location makes it a small community in itself.” With the new year starting we wanted to know what Southbourne Chop has in plan for 2011. “We have 3 regular stylists, a recently qualified trainee and part time staff also which means we’re looking to rearrange Chop to add in two more work stations and to carry on serving our regular customers and welcoming new ones too.” Southbourne Chop is an official GHD retailer. We welcome new customers for advice and a friendly service from all the highly qualified team. Traditional Barbers at Southbourne Barbers

We spoke to Jason and Tammy at the Southbourne Barbers to find out what it’s all about, “Southbourne Barbers offers a traditional service from wet shaves to modern haircuts in a relaxed ‘retro’ style”, Jason told us. We asked Jason what he liked the most about Southbourne, “There is a great sense of community in Southbourne, especially in the economic climate people are coming together to do something a bit different and with so many individual businesses available there is great choice. Southbourne has a small village type charm and is truly unique”. Jason told us what aims Southbourne Barbers has for 2011, “We are proud of our regular customers and believe the quality of our customer service. We want to be the number one barbers in the area and continue to try new things. Come and try out Southbourne Barbers, you won’t be disappointed.” Apart from the traditional barbers there is also the popular Dixie Doll Tattoo Studio run by Jason’s wife, Tammy. “We specialise in custom tattoo designs and each tattoo is truly individual. We’re set on injecting some colour into the heart of Southbourne.”

KK Bullion A golden investment We spoke to Marko Puustinen, marketing co-ordinator about the origins of KK Bullion, “KK Bullion was established in order to provide its founders with a safe haven investment in physical gold bars. Following a sustained period of worldwide economic growth the credit cycle started to expand and we felt that the prospect of financial turbulence was increasing.” KK Bullion is the only physical gold provider on the south coast offering a wide range of gold bar and coins for every budget. With years of experience they can guarantee a fast and reliable service regardless of the size of your investment. Marko explained about the investment opportunities in Gold, “Gold bars are a vital investment where the value of the world’s major economies and currencies is falling. The price of gold is not connected to any specific economy, as its value depends on supply which is falling and demand which increases as investors and governments turn to it when their own economies are sliding.”

Invest In Tax Free Gold Gold has outperformed the property & stock markets for many years. In times of economic turbulence gold is a great preserver of wealth.
