Many know you from your presence in Palm Beach.
Why did you want to activate in the Hamptons this summer?
A couple of years ago when the entire world took a break due to a worldwide pandemic, many of us in this industry were holding capital undelivered inventory. I personally rolled up my sleeves and drove out to the East End to scout for a summer location and landed in the beautiful town of Sag Harbor. The motivation started right there to think out of the box and to find other locations. I’ve become this entrepreneur who follows the seasons, follows the sun, and follows my clients.
A MOMENT WITH MARK GREENWALD OF SAUNDERS & ASSOCIATES
Mark, you’re based in Southampton. What makes the town so special?
Southampton is my home. Driving through the Village with all its charm, turning onto the specimen tree–canopied streets of the estate section and arriving at the beautiful shoreline is truly a joy every day. I never take it for granted. The history and journey
of Southampton from a thriving 19th-century resort to the place we live in today is amazing. How do you work with clients? Whether a customer is looking for a $30 million home or a million-dollar cottage, the most important thing I can do is listen. When you have extensive market knowledge, if you hear what is important to your customers, you know you’ll find the perfect match. It’s the same with sellers. What makes Southampton a great year-round destination? I bought my home in the Hamptons when I was still working as a real estate attorney at an NYC law firm. The more time that I spent here, the more I realized that this was the healthy, happy life I wanted to lead and decided to move here. Connecting to the beauty of the changing seasons, enjoying local restaurants and holiday traditions in Southampton Village are just a few of the reasons this is a thriving year-round community. What’s something clients can expect working with you? My background as a lawyer instilled a professional way of working, which I translate into every part of my day.

AT HOME WITH TIM DAVIS
Real Estate Power Broker at The Corcoran Group
Tim, how’s your summer been going so far?
We’ve been busy closing some pre-season deals we put into contract these past few months. The weather appears to have turned in our favor, and I’m mixing business with pleasure. What’s the buyer’s market like right now?
We continue to have a strong buyer pool and limited inventory. We have brought on several special properties, however, and we’re seeing good immediate response. Any properties you’re particularly excited about at this time?
The largest available oceanfront land and a couple of quiet waterfront listings seem to be on the radar at the moment. A beautiful shingle-style in the estate section on 3.4 acres is also getting some strong attention. This is our entertainment issue. What is your favorite TV show these days?
It’s not necessarily on TV, though I am binge-watching five seasons of Yellowstone. The best entertainment is on the streets of our villages. I’m loving the people-watching.
Where are your favorite destinations to indulge in entertainment Out East?
I’m not an out-late kind of person; therefore, the lunch experiences with DJs, live music at Duryea’s in Orient, Sunset Beach on Shelter Island, and Wölffer Estate Vineyard are all quite appealing to me.

HOW YOU CAN USE CHARITABLE DONATIONS TO GET A TAX BREAK!— AND HELP OTHERS, TOO
Our resident finance expert, aka Mrs. Dow Jones, returns with her take on this hot topic, leaving you informed and savvy once again.
BY HALEY SACKS
There’s a reason wealthy people love donating to charity—you get to help people and also get a tax write-off! And if you’re wondering why the government gives you a tax write-off for donating to charity—charities play a giant role in society and often outpace the government in the relief they’re able to provide to people in need. So the government in turn rewards people who are willing to donate their dollars to charities with these tax deductions.
However, it wouldn’t be a gift from the government if it didn’t include multiple hoops and red tape, so let’s break down how you can write off that donation in four easy steps.
STEP 1
Make sure that the charity you donate to is legit (as determined by the IRS). You should be able to locate an organization’s tax-exempt status on its donation page or its FAQs. You should be doing this anyway when you donate to make sure that the organization is actually doing what it claims; there are an unfortunate number of “charities” whose goal is not to help people, but to prey on people’s emotions and keep the money for themselves.
STEP 2
Keep track of your donations. If you’re an adult in America, you know that the IRS requires a paper trail for everything— including donations! Maintain
detailed records of your contributions to back up your claims for Uncle Sam. This can be bank or credit card statements, or written acknowledgment from the charity. It needs to show the date and amount of your donation. The more evidence, the better!
STEP 3
Choose itemizing over standard deduction. The government gives you two options when claiming your tax deductions—standard or itemized. The standard deduction is up to $13,850 for single tax payers. So if you
STEP 4
Optimize your strategy. As heard in every rom-com, timing is everything! And that applies to your charitable giving, too. You should consider the timing of your donations to further enhance your tax deductions.
Like if your bonus bumped you up a tax bracket one year, pay it forward to your favorite organization to maximize your tax savings for that year. You’ll catch yourself a tax break that could bring you back down to that original pre-bonus tax bracket. This is called “bunching donations.” It’s when instead of making small contributions annually, you “bunch” your donations by giving more in specific years.
You could also create a DonorAdvised Fund. DAFs are funds that you create and fill with a lump-sum donation to receive immediate tax deductions. The charity doesn’t have to use it right away, allowing them flexibility, and you can even donate stocks (which will also offset your capital gains tax!). However, these have a history of being sketchy, so as long as you use it as intended (which I know you will), it’s an amazing way to pay it forward for years to come.
Also, if you’re 70½ or older, the IRS made something special for you! You’re in a unique position to make qualified charitable distributions directly from your Individual Retirement Account. This allows you to meet the Required Minimum Distribution of your IRA (yes, they make you take out a certain amount each year after you turn 70) while still excluding the distribution from taxable income.
donated more than that, you’ll be better off itemizing on your taxes so you can deduct more. I recommend trying both methods to see which one maximizes your tax savings.
By following those four steps, you can have a positive impact on society—and your tax bill. Wealthy people do this all the time, and you can, too, sweetie! Find causes you’re obsessed with, donate what you can, and then take advantage of your tax deductions. Oh, and as always, stay rich! T

THE BEST IN MUSIC
BY JAYMA CARDOSO
Music has been a key pillar of The Surf Lodge since its inception and is deeply rooted in our DNA. Over the past 15 years, we have been fortunate to have such incredible artists grace our stage, from the likes of John Legend, Jimmy Buffett, Willie Nelson, Wyclef Jean, Rita Ora, Janelle Monáe, Lauryn Hill, and many more.
As we celebrate our 15th anniversary this summer, I’m so excited to welcome back
several of our favorite acts, along with many new ones playing at the property for the first time, such as Aloe Blacc, SAINt JHN, Fisher, Joe Jonas, and Busta Rhymes. With The Surf Lodge’s summer concert series in full swing, I look forward to sharing with guests our impressive August lineup featuring Monolink, DJ Pee Wee of Anderson Paak, Donavon Frankenreiter, Night
Tales, Elderbrook, ARIZONA, Blond:ish, and Quinn XCII.
Musicians playing at The Surf Lodge this summer get to ride in style, thanks to our friends at Defender, our official house car for the season. We’ve also created the ultimate weekend hotel package with them, especially geared toward
the music lover, which comes with VIP access to our concert series and sound checks, and of course, dedicated use of a Defender throughout your stay to cruise around the Hamptons.
And what better way to take in and listen to all these artists
than at The Sandbar, our new hospitality experience with CB2 located on the beach at The Surf Lodge.
Inspired by the French Riviera, The Sandbar features a vast array of furniture and accessories from CB2, including its latest outdoor furniture collection by one of my favorite interior designers Ross Cassidy. Staying on theme, we also teamed up to create a Mediterranean menu especially for the space with summertime favorites, including a clam ceviche, a swordfish brochette, a striped bass, and a delicious mezze platter.
Here’s to a fun-filled August ahead, brimming with excitement, adventure, and great music! T

PAIR YOUR WINE WITH LOCAL SUMMER FOODS
There’s nothing like watching a great TV show or movie from the comfort of your home while sipping a glass of wine—and having something delicious to go with it. Our entertaining expert is back with her tips for making the perfect match.
BY STEPHANIE NASS
The age-old adage “in vino veritas” suggests that truth will be found by drinking wine. That might be occasionally true, but more reliably, pleasure is found in wine. And a key to enjoying wine is thoughtfully pairing it with food. The enjoyment of food and wine can be significantly enhanced by their combination. A good red wine can cut the fattiness of a backyard cheeseburger, increasing its deliciousness. Moreover, nothing beats a lobster roll with a good glass of ice-cold bubbles. Here we’ve paired several favorite bites Out East with wines that will make them taste their best ever.
Chardonnay changed the game for American wines; under blind testing, it was determined to be superior to French wines, at a time it was previously believed that France grew the best grapes. This wine won’t leave anything to be desired when imbibed beside a lobster roll.
TATE’S CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES
So much nostalgia is baked into these cookies. A cabernet sauvignon accompanies them beautifully. This varietal from The Calling offers some powerful spice that will add depth to your cookie enjoyment.
off cap for those moments that you forget your bottle opener.
CAVANIOLA’S CHEESE BOARD
The passionate purveyors at Cavaniola’s two locations know how to put a party on a platter. Enjoy this spread with some bubbly, ideally a crisp rosé. Sparkling Pointe is a winery on the North Fork, and its Topaz Impérial Brut Rosé is a lovely local accompaniment.
BACKYARD CHEESEBURGER
This classic barbecue staple is best served juicy, with a nice slice of Gruyère cheese, a brioche bun, and…a glass of red wine. Becker Vineyards has a nice malbec that would be delightful in between burger bites.
DIVE BAR PIZZA
This casual bar and pizzeria has become an icon on Montauk Highway in Amagansett. When you pick up your next cheese slice, pair it with an Italian rosé. This Rosato Calafuria from Tormaresca is an elegant and fresh choice.
RITA CANTINA FISH TACOS
BEACHSIDE S’MORES
This seasonal delicacy full of melted milk chocolate is great with a red wine. While you’re taking in the fresh sea air and the dessert sandwich, have a sip of pinot noir from a Hamptons local vineyard, Wölffer Estate.
LOBSTER ROLLS
A lobster roll is the ultimate understated indulgence. The lobster meat, removed from its shell, is mixed with herbs and creamy dressing then served in a simple bun. Chateau Montelena
ROUND SWAMP’S CHICKEN FINGERS
These salt-crusted tenders have a cult following and are delicious with a crisp, clean sauvignon blanc, like this one from Brancott Estate. It has been widely decorated and conveniently has a twist
Anyone in East Hampton knows that Rita Cantina is a special place. Its ingredients are as locally sourced as possible, and the vibe is nicely chill. Make your experience even more memorable with some champagne. Perrier-Jouët’s Belle Epoque Brut is dry and not sweet.
CARISSA’S CHOCOLATE BOUCHONS
These wine cork–shaped brownies are perfect with Avaline’s red blend.
GRINDSTONE DONUTS
Brioche donuts in unusual flavors never disappoint. Each flavor has its own profile, but if you go for a plain glazed donut, pair with a prosecco. Eataly ships all its wines to the Hamptons and has a wide selection of Italian sparkling wines. T

TOP 10 TIPS FOR FEELING YOUR BEST SELF
The summer season is still raging, so it’s important that you feel at your absolute peak. Our resident fitness expert is sharing her insights to get you there!
BY HILARY HOFFMAN
1. Keep good company and be good company. Nothing in the world makes you feel more like your best self than being surrounded by people who share your humor, your preferred A/C temperature, your ratio of going-out to staying-in nights and are comfortable with ordering “a pizza for the table.”
2. Hydrate.
I wish this one wasn’t true, but it does make me feel invincible. But that invincibility stops during all 15 pee breaks.
3. Rewear your favorites. If asked, “How would you describe your style?” I answer, “Outfit repeater.” When you find a fit or color that looks stunning on and makes you feel fabulous, why mess with perfection?
4. Find your version of meditation.
There’s no correct way to find your “center.” However you choose to practice mindfulness is the right path. Accessing patience, building awareness, and finding mental clarity can come via seated breath work or a simple plank.
5. Stick to the two-out-ofthree rule.
It’s easy to overindulge during the summer months. And don’t get me wrong, some nights call for having it all. However, if your goal is to feel great the next day,
I’m a big proponent of following the two-out-of-three rule: Alcohol. Dessert. Bread. Indulge in two out of the three (in moderation).
6. Your energy can outshine any pimple. While easier said than done, on
days when your skin is having a “moment,” get out the curler, take a few extra minutes on your brows, throw on your favorite outfit, and remember that people will remember your energy and smile, not the blemish on your chin or forehead.
7. Sleep is queen. Novel, I know. As the 14,568,100th person to recommend a restful slumber to feel fantastic—after wearing a WHOOP and witnessing the direct correlation between a good night’s sleep and
productivity—I’m now willing to save watching the rest of Silo on Apple TV+ until the next day in favor of some zzz’s.
8. Let them make the left turn. We’ve all heard the sayings “Keep shining” or “Be the light the world needs,” so why not put these words into action and be the advanced green light on Montauk Highway. While this may feel like a selfless act, I can promise you, it’s selfish to the core. As someone who despises driving, anytime anyone gives me that little hand gesture to make the turn onto Scuttle Hole Road while traffic piles up, I liken them to a saint or a Gandhi-esque figure. So now, when I can do this for someone else, I walk with a little extra pep in my step for the rest of the day.
9. Practice gratitude. When you’re on the other side of that left-turn gesture, you better be simultaneously waving aggressively while mouthing “Thank you” to the angel who just shaved four minutes off your arrival time. Some people may journal. Others keep an ongoing mental list. But the small moments add up.
10. Do a SOTO workout. Exercising is never the most important part of the day, but it amplifies your ability to access your best self. For me, reserving five, 10, or 30 minutes for SOTO Method in the morning, afternoon, or night is a nonnegotiable. Feeling the burn daily serves as a powerful physical reminder of my agency. It becomes a tangible feeling that I can carry into my life and rekindle when I need it most. And it just might do the same for you. Give it a try! T

The Most Romantic Things to Do in the Hamptons
We love a real-life rom-com, and meeting and greeting out here can be as romantic as any classic Nora Ephron flick. Our resident dating expert is back with her tips for romancing it up on the East End this summer. BY
LINDSEY METSELAAR
Happy August, Spotlight fam! Many people consider the Hamptons to be one of the trendiest and chicest destinations. But the real heart and soul of the Hamptons is how romantic it can be. It’s especially meaningful for me, because it’s where my husband said “I love you” to me for the first time, and where we got engaged. There are endless opportunities for romance Out East, and most of the time it has to do with the person you’re with, not what you’re doing. Regardless, here are my top four withoutfail romantic picks.
1. Take a sunset or sunrise walk on the beach.
The Hamptons is known for its incredible beaches, and there are so many to choose from. There are the more frequented ones, like Cooper’s, Mecox, and Ditch Plains. And then there are the smaller, more private beaches, like Gibson and Havens Beach. My personal favorite beach is Little Plains because that’s my “I love you” beach. There’s no moment more special than walking by the shore and looking at a stunning sunset.
2. Enjoy some ice cream in Sag Harbor.
Sag Harbor is one of the oldest and most picturesque towns. It dates all the way back to 1707!
My favorite part of Sag Harbor is the beautiful dock, where you look out at the incredible yachts and can enjoy the best ice cream at Big Olaf. My personal order is chocolate chip cookie dough in a wafer cone with rainbow sprinkles, but you can’t go wrong with any of its delicious flavors.
3. Take a ferry to Shelter Island. When was the last time you spent time on Shelter Island?
It’s quickly become one of the most secluded and lovely parts of the Hamptons, not to mention that the food is outstanding. If you take a day trip to Shelter Island, you can ride a bike around town, stop at Sunset Beach for some swimming, and end up at León, the new hot spot in town.
4. Hit the high seas. Don’t have any idea how to sail? Or want to learn? Sailing is one of the most romantic activities, and there are plenty of ways to set sail around the Hamptons. Sag Harbor Sailing offers rentals, if you can sail on your own, or you can check out Breakwater Yacht Club and rent a sailboat with a captain. Bring a towel, sandwiches from Harbor Market and Kitchen, and brace
yourself for one of the calmest experiences for couples to share. Whether you’re a romantic or not, there’s always an opportunity to make a date memorable. There are also tons of events going on in the Hamptons, so make sure you’re staying up to date. For more tips, you can follow @wemetatacme on Instagram or listen to “We Met At Acme” wherever you listen to podcasts. Hope we all get to enjoy some amazing sunsets this month! T

20 YEARS OF SHOPPING WITH THE COOL KIDS AT BLUE & CREAM
Where do those in the know go to shop Out East? Blue & Cream, of course. In celebration of the store’s 20th anniversary, its founder Jeff Goldstein tells all to Spotlight
BY SYDNEY SADICK
Jeff, it’s Blue & Cream’s 20th anniversary. How do you describe the evolution of the store over the years?
We started streetwear trends 20 years ago, rocking baggy jeans and custom Nike dunks to Puffy’s White Party in the buttoned-up Hamptons. That evolved to skinny jeans and dress shirts next to girls in mini skirts. Then the whole world had a maxi dress moment; next came bodysuits with cut-off jean shorts, and many decades and generational remixes in between. Now we’re back on Nike dunks, this time with crop tops and even baggier jeans, with a big blazer or boxy cropped sweaters to throw over. Fashions fade, style is eternal. What did you do to celebrate this milestone?
It’s a celebration every day inside our four walls—if you know, you know.
What memories stick out over the past two decades?
One of my favorite questions to ask shoppers is, “Do you need some inspiration?” usually about an outfit choice. TheDream says that he came to us for daily vibe inspiration while staying at Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s in Georgica over summer 2021 while recording “Break My Soul.”
Did you ever think Blue & Cream would be as big of a success as it has become when you were first starting out? We started from the bottom, and now we are here.
You run your business with your wife, Samantha. What’s it like working together?
It was all a dream.
What are some brands you’re excited about right now?
The Tile Club, with exclusive silk and cotton summer sweaters, and cashmere sets for fall. Some clients still like to say to me, “I don’t need a sweater. It’s summertime!” and I look at them like, “Girl, you’re wearing a hoodie and you just bought another hoodie in your bag. What you need is to put that hoodie away and add a summer sweater to your program.”
You also have your own namesake label. Tell us about some of your offerings.
On the men’s side, we’re literally selling out of everything this season. When my guys get one tee they come back for every color. For the women’s line, we’re filling in what everyone’s missing in their wardrobe. What makes Blue & Cream different from other stores?
A New York Times Jay-Z interview sums it up for me. He said: “ ‘Cause I, at the end of the day we gonna find out it’s not about the white-hot space, but it’s about finding the truth. That white-hot space— people think it’s the biggest thing, but it’s really small. It’s almost like a trend. Would you rather be a trend, or you rather be Ralph Lauren? You know
what I mean; like, you rather be a trend, or you rather be forever?
I’m the person that looked at the Mona Lisa and be like, ‘Man, that’s gonna be cool in 40 years.’ I play forever. And so my whole thing is to identify with the truth. Not to be the youngest, hottest, new, trendy thing.” You can always spot a celeb at your store. Best sightings so far this summer?
I was happy to see Andrew “Watt” Wotman come back home this season. He’s a B&C alum. Hamptonites can also shop at your two locations in New York City. What are your plans for them this fall?
After 15 years on the Bowery we moved our LES store to the West Village at 409 Bleecker Street; that’s where I like to work during the Hamptons offseason and just love introducing new people to our brand. But the insider tip is getting an appointment with our lead stylist, Zoey, who works with all the UES girls at our Madison Avenue boutique. T

The
Erin, you’re one of the new cast members of The Real Housewives of New York City. Why did you decide to join the show?
I was so excited to show the world my version of New York. It’s different when you’re raised here. You have a different relationship with the city and what it has to offer.
How did growing up in NYC impact who you are today? We grow up fast as city kids. You’re offered so much at a young age. Beyond that, we’re so cultured. That’s my favorite part about being from New York. I just grew up with everything at my fingertips—restaurants, extracurricular activities, theater, opera, music. When I was 10 my favorite soundtracks were Les Misérables and Phantom of the Opera. How many kids can say that?
How’d you land on the show? I was recommended by a friend who was in talks with the network, and that was that! What was your reaction when you found out you got it? Believe it or not, it was on my 35th birthday, so it was pretty epic that it fell on a milestone occasion!
How would you describe your personality?

I’d say I’m fun, motivated, entrepreneurial, loyal, loving, sensitive, family-oriented, and I truly do have a zest for life. What can fans expect from you in your debut season? Expect me to be direct, which is just how I am naturally. Good sense of style…I think? You’ll see me multitask a lot, which can be a real challenge sometimes! I value my family over almost anything. I love to host, and I adore my friends. But if you cross me, it’s hard for me to come back. Who of the cast have you gotten closest to?
I’m honestly close with all of them! I talk to Sai [De Silva] almost every day. I love Jenna [Lyons] and trust her implicitly, and Ubah [Hassan] and I have a deep connection that I can’t explain. Brynn [Whitfield] and I have a total seesaw relationship, but we have so much fun together, and Jessel

[Taank] and I are always on good terms, even if we don’t talk all the time.
What makes your cast different from the original RHONY group?
The former cast is legendary. I hope we can make them proud! We are diverse, cosmopolitan, and we show different aspects of our personalities where I think a lot of the other women were more similar to each other.
Did you know any of the girls before filming? Yes, but not all. And the ones I didn’t know were, like, one degree of separation.
Were you a fan of Housewives before joining?
I loved RHONY back in the
He did! He said I should speak my mind and don’t be afraid to cry or yell if that’s how I was feeling in the moment. [Laughs] What that really equates to is, be your true authentic self. Who else gave you words of wisdom?
My parents and siblings. They said, “Be you, because we love you!” So cute. You wear many hats; you’re an interior designer and real estate agent, and you’ve also worked in fashion. What’s at the center of your career now?
Real estate and design, but the design aspect is now being integrated more into the real estate business. More details on that soon!
I’m also excited about a new spirit brand I’m working on!
You’re the only cast member to have a house in the Hamptons. Will fans get to see your world Out East?
Sure will! I always say when I hit Exit 70, it’s like the biggest exhale. I can breathe Out East. I’m so beyond grateful for our time in our home and community. I grew up coming out here, so I have lots of memories. Almost every Thanksgiving is spent in the Hamptons, summers, and even lots of New Year’s. For us, the Hamptons has everything. You can be a total recluse or the most social person. You can go to a vineyard or the beach. You can eat seafood with your hands on a little dock or go to a fancy restaurant.
Favorite things to do here?
Spending time at home, hosting or cooking with my kids. I love taking out a boat, horseback riding, going to Wölffer Estate Vineyard for a wine tasting. I love taking my kids to the bay so they can wade in the water. There’s really not much I don’t love about the Hamptons… besides the traffic!
day! The show used to make me laugh like crazy. Will fans find you involved in the drama this season?
Just might!
How did you handle it?
Mostly well, but there were times when, I’ll be honest, I broke down.
What hesitations, if any, did you have going into the show?
Mostly in regard to my family. My husband, who is my best friend, was supportive in the decision. That made things much easier.
You were under the [Fredrik] Eklund/Gomes team. Did Fredrik give you any advice ahead of filming?
What did filming RHONY teach you about yourself?
That I’m a girl’s girl, and I love and cherish the time I get to spend with my friends. Hidden talent?
I love to cook but happen to be good at baking. Fun fact?
I can eat a lot more than one would assume, and live music keeps me sane and grounded. What’s next?
My new mezcal brand is coming very soon, and it’s extremely unusual in the world of spirit. My husband and I and our partner are so passionate about it. After years of wanting to do it, now feels like the right time. I can’t wait to share it with everyone! T

CANDACE BUSHNELL: THE REAL CARRIE BRADSHAW
before, TV shows have their own logic and And Just Like That… is finding and defining its world. It’s entertaining, and people like to talk about it.
You’ve mentioned being happy that Samantha Jones is coming back. Why do you think it was so important to the fans for her to return?
I hear this from fans of the original SATC; they want that feeling they had when they were watching the original show. Plus, I love Kim doing the Netflix show Glamorous and appearing in the reboot. As a sixtysomething woman, I relish seeing another sixtysomething woman on the screen in two shows.
Candace, when you originally created Sex and the City (SATC), did you ever think it would become as huge a sensation as it did?
As a child, I always felt I had a purpose in life that would somehow be related to women and breaking through the barriers of the patriarchy, which is something that I did even back when I was a little girl. So, the short answer is yes, but I didn’t know what it would be.
Tell us about your one-woman show, True Tales of Sex, Success and Sex and the City. It’s exactly what it says it is—an origin story on how I created Sex and the City, how hard I worked to get there, why I invented Carrie Bradshaw, and what happened to me afterward, combined with my life story, my aspirations as a writer, how I came to New York, my struggles,
and how I became successful. And, of course, there’s the sex. Why did you decide to bring your show to the Hamptons?
I wrote it during COVID and developed it at the legendary Bucks County Playhouse in New Hope, Pennsylvania, and then brought it to off-Broadway at the Daryl Roth Theatre in New York City. Now I’ve done it at various regional theaters and twice at Café Carlyle in The Carlyle hotel in the city. When I was performing the show there the owner of Canoe Place Inn saw it and asked me to perform there this summer. I visited the Canoe Place Inn and loved it. It has a great bar and restaurant, plus it’s one of the oldest inns in America. Apparently, Frank Sinatra performed there in the ’60s. If you get a chance to perform in the same venue Frank Sinatra did, you absolutely say yes!
BY SYDNEY SADICK
What can fans expect at your Hamptons show?
Hopefully a lot of laughs. We play a game called Real or Not Real, using video clips from the show and comparing it to my real life, because so much of what happened on the TV show was just a bit better or a bit worse and fans have to guess what’s real and what isn’t. Who from the SATC cast do you still keep in touch with?
I’m in touch with Kim Cattrall and tend to run into Cynthia Nixon every now and again. The last time was on the street in front of my apartment building next to the Apple Store, where she was directing an episode of And Just Like That…. I love when something like that happens. What are your thoughts on Season 2 of And Just Like That… so far?
I’m enjoying it. I’ve said this
How does the Hamptons inspire your writing process? For the past 30 years, I’ve pretty much only lived in Manhattan and the Hamptons. I write about the society that I live in, so I always write about my environment. In SATC the book, the Hamptons is featured as a stomping ground for Carrie and Mr. Big. They have lots of adventures here. It’s one of the “true tales” I tell in my show— the real story of the real Mr. Big. What has been your proudest career moment?
Having a No. 1 best-selling novel, The Carrie Diaries. Getting on the best-seller list. Getting Lipstick Jungle on the air on NBC. Getting the column “Sex and the City.” What would fans be surprised to learn about you?
How incredibly hard I’ve worked; how I came to New York wanting to win the Pulitzer Prize; and the hard moments, the dark times that no one likes to talk about.
Is there anything still on your career bucket list?
Yes, I’d like to make a lot more money so I can rent a yacht for a week and bring all my friends. Just like on a reality show! T

When Pretty Baby star Brooke Shields suffered a freak accident and broke her femur bone in 2021, she had to spend a month in the hospital. This turned out to be a lifechanging moment for the veteran model and actress. She began contemplating her life and trying to figure out what’s next. That’s how her podcast was conceived. “Now What?” explores the make-or-break moments in life with guests including Gayle King, Alan Cumming, and Sara Bareilles.
TV SHOWS AND JUST LIKE THAT…
Whether you grew up with Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte, and Samantha in Sex and the City, or are watching this “new chapter” for the first time, And Just Like That… is addictive. Like the original series but with timely social issues, the show follows the lives of this famous trio (minus Samantha), with some hysterical bits from Mario Cantone as Anthony. We’re obsessed with Sarah Jessica Parker’s fashion, the wildly anticipated cameo of Kim Cattrall, and the return of love interest Aidan Shaw (John Corbett). No, the clothes aren’t as great as when Patricia Field was the show’s costume designer, but it’s still fun to dream about having some pieces in your closet. Warning: The sex scenes might be too racy for some, but nevertheless we can’t stop watching each weekly drop on Max.
THE MORNING SHOW
Almost two years later, this fan favorite (secondmost-watched Apple TV+ series) with superstars
Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon in their roles of Alex Levy and Bradley Jackson is finally back for Season 3. The show gives us a behind-the-scenes look at a TV morning show and its tangled web of events involving the anchors, producers, staff, and crew. No matter how much time has passed, we’ll be ready to tune in to this long-awaited return on September 13.
DANCING WITH THE STARS
Reality show superfan David Yontef has created this daily podcast featuring your favorite Bravolebrities. He morphed into a reality show guru after receiving a law degree. But his appearance on The Millionaire Matchmaker sparked this reality show obsession. Yontef is friendly, chatty, and a good conversationalist. His knowledge of every episode is impressive. Whether he’s chatting with Tamra Judge, Terry Dubrow, or Scheana Shay, you’re sure to get some timely Bravo scoop and find out exactly what you want to know.
Our favorite show returns for Season 32 this fall. Back on broadcast TV (on ABC) and Disney+, Dancing With the Stars will bring its returning judges (the late Len Goodman will be missed), the always rotating cast of celebrities, and a new co-host. This season, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and Season 19 winner Alfonso Ribeiro will host again, but will be joined by Julianne Hough. She’s been part of the show as a dancer, judge, and now co-host. The first cast member has already been announced, and it’s Ariana Madix of Vanderpump Rules Now, we can’t wait for the rest of the cast to be revealed!

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF MADISON L E CROY
Reality TV star Madison LeCroy is bringing her Southern Charm to the Hamptons. After all, she’s the most-talked-about star of the hit Bravo show! Here, Madison shares what she loves to do when visiting her beloved East End.
BY SYDNEY SADICK
Madison, what brought you to the Hamptons this summer?
I love the Hamptons! I try and come here at least once a year. This year, we were hosted by Hampton Water, my new favorite rosé. It’s the new hot thing!
Why do you love to come here?
The fashion! Everyone is dressed to the nines. I have to step up my game! And the atmosphere is nothing like where I’m from.
Are there any similarities between the Hamptons and Charleston?
Beautiful people!
Where are your must-visit spots when coming here?
I like to stay at The Surf Lodge. Lots of good people-watching. The new season of your show, Southern Charm, will be dropping soon. What can fans expect from you this time? Fans can expect to see “a day in the life.” I try to show my life at home a bit more—and stay out of the drama…maybe!
What have you learned about yourself since being on the show?
I’ve learned that reality TV is not for the weak, so toughen up! Do you ever have any regrets about getting into the world of reality TV?
No regrets; if you do what I do, you have to be extremely open and vulnerable. It’s hard sometimes, but I love it!
What’s the biggest misconception about you?
Sometimes TV portrays me to be the mean girl, but I’m not! I’m actually a lot of fun!
Who are you currently closest to on the show?
I have always been closest to Patricia [Altschul]. She’s the only one I trust!
What’s your life motto?
Do no harm, take no s**t!
What are you working on right now?
I’m working on being the best version of myself. T
