I’ve been coming to the Hamptons since I was born, and 30 years later, I’m still as excited as ever to arrive here each and every week. I especially crave my Hamptons time in August and try to be here as much as I can, as these are the true dog days of summer. I feel like my quality of life is just dramatically better here, between the fresh sea salt air and the incredible food I pick up from all my favorite farmstands. I’m my happiest self here, and I know I’m not the only one who feels this way. The Hamptons is home to me, and I know to so many of you. And even if you’re here at a shared house or a hotel, I’m sure you feel it— there’s no place like it.
So much of what makes a home home is the food we eat, serve, and have around us. And how we entertain and enjoy with our family and friends. Chef and entertaining expert Stephanie Nass is our cover star for our home and entertaining issue. I’ve said it to many people and I’m going to say it here: She really is the Martha Stewart of this generation. And now, the talent, who some know as “Chefanie,” thanks to her popular Instagram page and line of products, is launching her first book—Swing By! which we celebrate in this issue. Read our interview on page 32.
Also in this issue—our “Spotter” columnists focus on their niches in relation to the theme of this edition of the magazine. We had an incredible event with Fern Mallis and Nicole Miller last month that brought out a dedicated fashion crowd, plus our July cover party, which you can peruse on page 14.
We’re also going inside the homes of some of my favorite East Enders, including the one and only Liz Lange—owner of Figue—who lives at the iconic Grey Gardens estate in East Hampton. I also interviewed her on my podcast, “All the Buzz,” which you can stream everywhere now, and it was amazing to see how much she kept of the property while also, of course, making it very much her own. Check it out on page 36.
Every time an issue releases it’s such a proud moment for me and my team. We will always work tirelessly to think of what you, our readers, want and like, and what speaks to our community. Spotlight is your home for reliable, informative, and fun content, and we’re always honored that you choose to read it each month.
Here’s to a new issue, a new month, and more new fun memories to come!

Real Estate Agent, Saunders & Associates
Jennifer, you’re a born and raised Hamptonite! What inspired you to become a real estate agent here?
After 12 years as a sales manager for a pharmaceutical company, I wanted to use my sales experience in my beautiful hometown. I love working with people and helping them find homes in this community. As an East Hampton local, what are your favorite qualities of the town?
There’s something for everyone in this town. South of the Montauk Highway and East Hampton Village offer timeless homes and estates, great restaurants and shopping, and then you go to Springs, where you can buy a sweet cottage or a beautiful bay- or harbor-front home with sunset views.
What are some of your favorite local haunts?
I love the locally owned stores, such as Obligato, a great boutique in East Hampton. Why should those looking to purchase a Hamptons home work with you?
My relationships with attorneys, NY Title, and home inspectors help my clients to be more competitive and help to get deals done quickly.
What’s your advice to buyers who are afraid to pull the trigger on buying a property? Just do it! If you love a home that’s priced at $3 million and you don’t buy it now, that home will just cost more next year.

There’s nothing like a tome that’s page-turning and chic all at the same time. Here are some reads that are great to look through and are beautiful to display in your home. BY ZIBBY OWENS
I’m obsessed with wallpaper. I could look at homedesign magazines, browse through websites, and devour social media posts all day. In my novel Blank, my main character, Pippa, has a secret side hustle as an “open-house bandit” with a viral Instagram account depicting the best homes around. (Confession: I will always pull over for an open house, especially in the Hamptons.) But what I really love are gorgeous coffee-table books packed with luscious photographs and covet-worthy décor. Display these on your Hamptons side tables to start even better conversations and motivate you to, perhaps, at least pick up the pillows from the floor.

Our oenophile contributor offers a curated guide for shopping, dining and more for your first—or return—visit Out East! BY
JOEY WÖLFFER
As someone who has lived in the Hamptons pretty much all my life, I’ve learned that this special place is more than a summer escape or destination on the East End. It’s a vibrant blend of different cultures, histories, and traditions. Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a seasoned Hamptons enthusiast, here are some of my favorite spots and things to do to make your visit memorable. Discover the best places to eat, shop, and explore.
Blooming Shells, Sag Harbor
I often find amazing treasures here, a store known for its unique and beautiful shellinspired items. Each visit feels like a mini treasure hunt. This shop is fun for people of all ages and offers a wide array of items, from shells and jewelry to artwork, books, and clothing. Leallo, Bridgehampton, Sag Harbor
When I’m looking for comfy yet stylish clothes, Leallo is my goto. It has an amazing selection of wardrobe staples that are perfect for lounging or exploring the Hamptons.
Salt House Mercantile, Sag Harbor
I love discovering beautiful home accessories here. This shop offers a curated selection of items that can add a touch of Hamptons charm to any home!
Stella & Rub, Sag Harbor
For those with kids, Stella & Ruby offers fun and fashionable clothing from newborn to tween. The shop has hardto-find labels from Europe, functional modern pieces from popular brands, and everything in between.
Joey Wölffer, Sag Harbor
Stop by my own boutique where we can dress you from head to toe! We have a carefully curated mix of high-end fashion, accessories, and vintage finds.
Carissa’s The Bakery, East Hampton
Carissa’s has an amazing selection of artisanal breads, cakes, pies, and house-spun gelatos, alongside a kitchen menu of nutritious foods. Should I mention it has a James Beard Award–winning bakery, too?
Duryea’s, Montauk
If you want an unforgettable dining experience, head to Duryea’s! This restaurant is known for its fresh seafood and stunning waterfront views, making it perfect for a romantic dinner date or a meal with friends. I love its famous lobster roll and always try to time my visit here with the sunset.
Estia’s Little Kitchen, Sag Harbor
This beloved breakfast and lunch spot offers farm-to-table dishes in a cozy and casual setting. I love coming here for breakfast. It serves eclectic Mexican-American food made
with local produce, so you know it’s going to be fresh.
Jack’s Stir Brew Coffee, Amagansett, Sag Harbor
Do you need some morning coffee or a little pick-me-up midday? Jack’s Stir Brew Coffee has the best organic coffee and delicious vegan baked goods. Provisions Natural Foods Market & Cafe, Water Mill
For a healthy and delicious option, I head to Provisions. It started as a health food store but has evolved into a full-scale natural foods grocery and café. I usually order its turkey taco salad, which has chili-spiced turkey, shredded romaine lettuce, corn salsa, avocado, tomato, and tortilla strips with cilantro-lime dressing. It’s so nutritious and tasty!
Tutto Il Giorno, Southampton
For perfect Italian cuisine, Tutto il Giorno is the best place to go. It offers a more upscale lunch experience, and its elegant atmosphere makes it a special spot to enjoy a memorable meal.
Parrish Art Museum, Water Mill
My favorite cultural experience in the Hamptons! This stunning museum showcases American art, with a particular focus on artists from the East End of Long Island. The architecture itself is a sight to behold, and the surrounding landscape adds to the serene atmosphere.
Town Line Beach, Wainscott
My ultimate beach is Town Line Beach. It’s ideal for sunbathing, swimming, or simply enjoying the scenic coastal views. I often come here to soak up some sun, and the soft sand and gentle waves provide the perfect setting for relaxation.
The Wine Stand, Sagaponack
Our Sunset Music series at The Wine Stand at Wölffer Estate has become the place to be on Fridays, Saturdays, and select Sundays and weekdays throughout the summer. It’s a casual night among the vines, where you can enjoy a glass of wine and live music while taking in the picturesque views of the vineyard and the sunset. T
If you’re summering in the Hamptons, you likely have a full social calendar. We’ve found some of the best gifts that will give the hosts in your life a reason to invite you back!
BY SARAH WETENHALL
Summer in the Hamptons means pool parties, cocktail hours, and dinner celebrations. As soon as I get an invitation to one of these social gatherings, I immediately start thinking of what I’m going to bring for the host. Everyone knows it’s a cardinal sin to show up empty-handed. I always have the best intentions of arriving with a creative gift, but more often than not I end up with the usual bottle of wine. Having learned from my mistakes over the years, and having been gifted some fabulous presents by friends, I’ve gathered a list of some of my favorite creative go-to gifts. Although some of them require a bit more thought and time management, they’re sure to make a lasting impression and secure your spot on the guest list.
Kitchen and Homeware
Designer Max Poglia makes the most ruggedly handsome handmade knives, bar tools, and home décor items that’ll make your host’s jaw drop. The Siena set is one of my favorites, with its ultra-thin blades crafted from reclaimed carbon steel and handles made of horn and bone.
Personalized Library
One of the most thoughtful gifts I’ve ever received was a beautiful basket of my friend’s
favorite books along with a personalized bookmark. I was so touched that she took the time to curate a mini library of books she’s read, loved, and felt compelled to share with me.
A Charitable Donation
Giving back to someone’s favorite charity is a great option for the person who has everything. As a member of the Central Park Conservancy, one of my favorites is donating to the Tulips & Daffodils program. For a minimum of $50, the Conservancy will plant flowers in the park and send the recipient a customized certificate as a notification of this special gift made in their name.
Fruit of the Season
The South is known for its hospitality, so it only makes sense to send your host a delicious delivery of Georgia peaches. If peaches aren’t your thing, Harry’s Berries from California, Maui Gold Pineapple from Hawaii, and Honeybell Oranges from Florida all ship domestically and are delicious.
Unique Provisions
My go-to for foodies is L’Epicuriste on Montauk Highway in Bridgehampton. Known for its culinary discoveries and assorted indulgences, it offers the most beautiful curation of items, ranging from rare truffles to one-of-a-kind cocktail napkins. Bourbon Is Back
A bottle of wine is lovely, but a distinctly flavored specialty bourbon will get you invited back. Fueled by the popularity of cocktail culture, bourbon has been experiencing a steady
boom for years. It’s a great gift for anyone who appreciates a classic bourbon cocktail, like an old-fashioned.
Flamingo Estate
From its home and beauty products to cookbooks and swag, Flamingo Estate is highly giftable and covetable. A few of my favorites are its Roma Heirloom Tomato candle paired with its homemade Soap Brick, its olive oil and vinegar sets, and its California Native Mountain Wildflower honey.
A Touch of Tiffany
Tiffany’s Elsa Peretti napkin rings are simple and timeless. They come in a set of two, which feels elevated enough without being too extravagant. Your host can use these to start a collection or mix and match with other napkin rings.
For the Game Lovers
Between summertime traveling and long lazy days at home, we spend a lot more time playing games as a family. Recently, we’ve turned to classic card games that are reliably fun and
easy to travel with. Smythson’s Panama Leather playing cards set in the brand’s traditional hard-wearing cross-grain calf leather is a chic gift for any host. Another go-to favorite is a beautiful wooden jigsaw puzzle by Liberty Puzzles.
Anything AERIN
With locations in both Palm Beach and Southampton, AERIN is a one-stop shop for finding the perfect gift for any host. I love the oversize Tulia wicker candles, which come in orange blossom and tuberose scents. Another idea is filling one of its wicker baskets with a bouquet of beautiful hand-picked flowers. Otherwise, blooms from your local farmstand will do.
I’ve learned that spending time with loved ones is what life is all about. It’s a pleasure to entertain friends and family, albeit challenging at times, which is why a token of appreciation can go a long way. At the end of the day, it’s not about the gift, it’s about the gesture and the thought behind it. T
Who said you need to go out on the town in order to have the best meetup? Our resident dating expert shares how to make your time together special in the comfort of your very own home. BY LINDSEY METSELAAR
Can you believe it’s already August? That means the summer is majorly heating up, and your summer romances probably are, too. If you listen to my podcast and follow my dating rules, you know that entertaining your date at home is an activity reserved for the fifth date and beyond. If you’re at that point with that special someone and are looking for ideas for an at-home meetup to escape this heat and bask in the a/c, look no further! Here are my favorite at-home date ideas.
There’s nothing more romantic than cooking. Plus, it’s an amazing feeling to be able to create something together. Knowing your date’s “kitchen behavior” is great intel related to how he or she might be as a partner long-term. Are they helpful? Are they annoying?
Do they try to take over? Start with a fun and interactive meal like homemade pasta.
Rom-coms were invented for the sole purpose of
During the pandemic, my husband and I had to come up with a lot of different ideas to keep ourselves entertained. Enter: themed date night. This was a cute idea we came up with because we didn’t have any reason to “dress up” at the moment. You can choose from a black-tie theme, favorite movie characters, or simply have a casual pajama night.
watching them on date night. There are so many to choose from. Find one that you and your date somehow both haven’t seen. Grab the accoutrements, such as popcorn, candy, and a beverage, and get cozy on the couch. I can’t promise you this won’t lead to a lot of kissing.
You know what’s totally underrated? Games! I personally love the card deck from We’re Not Really Strangers. It’s a great
opportunity to get a little deeper with a potential new partner. I also love Codenames: Duet, and you can’t go wrong with a puzzle. When in doubt, Uno is always a good idea. I also love a simple “Guess my favorite ___.” You can always take the game to flirtier place and have the loser remove an item of clothing!
Bake Something
Baking is a real science project. And how fun is it to have a romantic lab partner to do it with? Trying a new recipe together; mastering it can really get those endorphins going. Things will get totally messy, and that’s a real lesson in letting go and just enjoying each other in the moment.
If you’re having an at-home date night, the most important thing is that you’re comfortable, not only in your clothes but with the person who’s coming over. It’s an intimate step, and it’s important for you to be discerning about who you invite over for such a special occasion.
For more tips and clarity on the rules I mentioned, you can follow @wemetatacme on Instagram or listen to “We Met at Acme” wherever you listen to podcasts. And if you’re looking for rom-com recommendations, you can’t go wrong with Moonstruck, Pretty Woman, The Sweetest Thing, or Crazy, Stupid, Love. Enjoy! T

Stephanie, you’re an entertaining expert with your own brand—plus, you’re a chef! Where did your love for food and entertaining begin?
My love of food and entertaining came from my parents, who are the consummate hosts. They recognize that beautiful meals are the ultimate way to celebrate life, so dinner at their house often has sweet surprises like live music, food trucks, and interesting people. Whenever

I put together an event, I try to achieve what people feel when they go to my parents’ house—loved. My passion for food brought me into restaurant kitchens through college and then culinary school. Take us back to the first dinner party you ever hosted! During undergrad at Columbia, I lived in an old townhouse with my best friends. In the beautiful dining room, I served mozzarella that I had made from scratch with roasted
butternut squash, chicken Marbella, then chocolate cake with a meringue frosting. The gratification that came from thrilling people in that way got me hooked.
Describe the Chefanie brand. Chefanie started as a catering business but has now evolved into a lifestyle brand with something for everyone at every price point. Online, we have loads of recipes and party ideas for free. At chefanie.com, there are hundreds of products,

Tell us what readers can expect.
The book puts my method of hosting, honed over years of catering and entertaining, into a systematized set of principles. It’s illustrated with watercolors and photographs. The method is applied in 16 party themes, in which there are recipes for
sweets, savories, and cocktails; flower-arranging tips; and other hosting hacks. It’s already on Amazon, so you can pre-order your copy today!
“Whenever I put together an event, I try to achieve what people feel when they go to my parents’ house —loved.”
What inspired the concept for the book?
I wanted to share ideas and photos that would delight. What are some tips readers will learn?
How to eat a sunflower! There’s a recipe for the best macaroni and cheese recipe ever and so much more!
How will you activate this fall to celebrate your new cookbook?
Lots of parties! Instagram followers will find out about all our nationwide events first, so join us at @chefanienass for invitations.
What did you learn about yourself through writing this book?
Rizzoli is a very exigent publisher, and my team there pushed me to a new level of creative output.
In addition to your book, you have a range of stunning products. Tell us what’s new this August.
This month, we’re loaded up with perfect hostess gifts, from the funny to the extravagant. I love our Technicolor linens and the hydrangea napkin rings. After weeks of entertaining all summer, what are some tips for freshening up your hosting game during the dog days?
Use the fresh produce you see at local farmstands to make an unusual centerpiece—and then cook with it!
What are some do’s and don’ts when it comes to hosting?
Do keep lavender-scented towels in your freezer to greet guests coming in from the heat. Do give your guests the best view, whether it’s the ocean, the yard, or a pretty side of your curtains. Make sure they have
as much of a visual feast as possible. Don’t plan a menu that requires all your effort while your guests are hungry. What do you love about entertaining in the Hamptons? I’m happiest here, and I love
sharing that joy through entertaining.
We have to congratulate you on your recent wedding! Tell us about your nuptials!
I married my best friend, David Ulevitch, on June 2. For the wedding, I designed every detail, from the tableware to the desserts to the embroidery on my dress. All these elements made the whole event deeply personal.
What’s the best part of married life so far?
We’re even closer than we were before. T

Liz Lange Owner, Figue
HAMPTON
Liz Lange’s historical Grey Gardens home is arguably one of the most famous properties in the Hamptons—and the United States. Built in the 1800s, the house was lived in by the likes of Jackie Kennedy’s aunt and cousin. The mother-anddaughter duo, known as Big Edie and Little Edie, were the subject of the 1975 documentary Grey Gardens. Things took a bad turn for the eccentric pair financially, and they ended up living in seclusion in the house, which fell into disrepair and was nearly condemned. Lange bought the home from journalists Sally Quinn and Ben Bradley in 2017 and has since renovated it to make it feel like her home for her and her husband, Jeffrey, while also preserving its rich history.
“Obviously, I’m not a Kennedy or a Beale, and I didn’t live here then, but I remember all the shingle-style homes of the Hamptons from my childhood. For me, this house felt familiar.”

SAG HARBOR
Gretta Monahan and her husband, actor and producer Ricky Paull Goldin, had been looking for a project to take on for years. The search ended when the couple discovered an abandoned house in the heart of Sag Harbor. Developers wouldn’t touch it, but they knew this was a special property. The pair worked with architect Anthony Vermandois to preserve the history of the home while still making it their own. After two years of renovations, the house is nearing completion and Monahan and Goldin and their two children are ready to make memories there that will last a lifetime.
“I knew the moment I walked in through the dust, broken glass, and smashed fireplace that I fell madly in love with the bones of this home.”
Alex and Michael Toccin Owners, Toccin WATER MILL
Alex and Michael Toccin call their Water Mill home their “respite.” The couple worked with Hilary Matt Interiors to create a space that feels contemporary, clean, and comfortable. When designing the home, the Toccins seamlessly blended both of their aesthetics to mimic their clothing designs. They ensured that the house featured a family room where they can spend time with their two children— and of course, it had to have a fabulous closet space!
“The neutral tones of our home allow us to be creative with entertaining and accessorizing with other colorways and textures when we want to without it looking busy or out of sorts.”
Jackie Goldschneider Cast Member, The Real Housewives of New Jersey WESTHAMPTON
New Jersey Housewife Jackie Goldschneider and her family’s Westhampton home is the beach house of their dreams. This waterfront property is the perfect distance from their primary New Jersey residence. When designing the house, Goldschneider opted for a clean coastal aesthetic. Linen was one of the main decorative materials, and she also procured décor from local businesses in

The model, beauty entrepreneur, and Hamptons favorite tells Spotlight how she launched her “labor of love” skincare company and why it’s been her proudest professional endeavor yet. BY SYDNEY SADICK
Molly, what’s the backstory of YSE?
YSE Beauty has been a true labor of love and one of the most rewarding moments in my career. YSE Beauty (pronounced “wise”), is a clinically proven and dermatologist-tested line that addresses skin issues related to uneven skin texture and hyperpigmentation. I developed it for the 40-plus women who struggle to find products that target their unique skin concerns. Because in all truth, skincare is not one age fits all, which I quickly found to be true during my own skin journey. Tell us about that journey.
During my thirties, I struggled with my own personal skin issues—like hyperpigmentation, melasma, and uneven skin tone—and then after having my first born, Brooks. It was defeating and overwhelming. At times, I felt like throwing in the towel, because I couldn’t get a handle on my skin. After tapping into several experts and doing my own trial and error, I was able to finally see a light at the end of the tunnel. And this, inevitably, led to the birth of YSE Beauty. Did you always know this was something you wanted to do? No, but I did know I wanted to help other women going through the same struggles I had experienced. What are your most popular products?
C Serum, and Wide Awake Brightening Eye Cream are tops. How did you work with your dermatologist on the range?
women going through real problems…and feeling like I’m a part of their journey. It’s been a humbling experience—as well as inspiring—to see our products make a difference for thousands of women. You spend many summers Out East. Why is the Hamptons your chosen playground?
I’ve been spending summers in the Hamptons for more than 20 years; it’s the quintessential East Coast summer. There’s truly nothing like it. The Hamptons is made up of farmland and beaches, so it’s an idyllic location to host barbecues, dinners, and just enjoy the beautiful landscape. And although it has the reputation of being quite fancy, it’s actually a place grounded in tradition. When I come to the Hamptons, I always feel at peace.
lifestyle. When first ideating my brand, I didn’t want another skincare system that took 10 times the steps and about an hour to complete. Because who has time for that? I wanted luxurious products, promised results, and true simplicity. All three factors exist within the forefront of this brand and are guaranteed in the future of YSE Beauty. Life is short, so who has time for anything less than feeling confident in your own skin—and not spending 20 hours to get there! T

What is the No. 1 skincare secret you swear by?
Consistency is key. That’s the secret recipe. I know it may not seem as exciting, but trust me when I say that the most exciting feeling is when you start to see those results—and that’s where consistency comes into play. Haitian-American artist Guy Stanley Philoche tells Spotlight about his most recent interactive installment at the Hamptons Fine Art Fair, which celebrated important figures in the Black community. BY EMILY WHITE
Guy, when did your passion for art begin?
I was born in Haiti. I came to America when I was around 5 years old, and I didn’t speak the language. My parents were not artists. I come from a whole line of amazing athletes. I think when I fell in love with art was probably when we took a class trip to the museum and I got to see all the classic masterpieces. It wasn’t until high school that I realized I could actually pursue and make a living doing art. How does your culture contribute to your artwork?
At the beginning of my career, I was using lots of Caribbean colors in my abstract paintings. In time, my work has evolved. I’m trying to use people who look like me, people who grew up where I grew up. Right now, it’s important for me to honor them by painting their portraits. Your recent installation, “Give Us Our Flowers,” recognizes the strength and resilience of the Black community. Tell us about the collection.
A year and a half ago, one of my dear friends, David, passed away. I’ve dealt with grief and trauma before, but this one really hit home. After attending his funeral, I saw how loved he was by so many people who were
not able to express their love when he was alive. I saw people giving him his flowers.
So one day in the studio, I decided to draw his portrait with flowers next to him and that’s how this series took off and has now evolved into painting portraits of other people as well. This collection mainly focuses on portraits. Why did you choose to showcase this form of artwork?
I wanted to honor us—Black and brown people. Too, often we don’t get celebrated. Or if we do get celebrated, it’s always when we’re gone. I wanted to do the collection in black and white because I want the viewer to focus on the people. And the flowers are just me
honoring them, but they also add a pop of color. Who are some of the historical and/or current figures you’re highlighting in this interactive installation?
Many people! For instance, I did
and more. You always have to respect the past in order to move forward. What made this installment interactive?
All the senses are engaged. There were beautiful flowers all around the booth and birds chirping, which made viewers feel like they were entering a garden. The flowers also heightened their sense of smell. Why did you decide to showcase your work in the Hamptons?
I have lots of collectors there, but this particular series was a little different. It’s more of an engaging experience. I wanted viewers to see the portraits of these Black and brown kids in a beautiful light. You also collect artwork. Why do you feel it’s important to buy art as well as make it?
I have a philosophy. Every time
I sell a painting, I buy a painting. I like to support up-and-coming artists. New York’s been good to me, so I like to pay it forward. I basically live in a museum; I have a massive collection. Why is collecting artwork so important to you?
Finding a piece that I love and want to take home with me, then seeing the artist’s face light up reminds me of when I was in their situation 22 years ago. I feel that since I have this platform, I should try and open as many doors for others as possible because there’s room for everybody. I also just love art! Every day I walk into my apartment, despite whatever is going on, I can’t be sad because I’m living with a bunch of art. What’s are you working on next?
I will be in Paris and London to show the collection, which I’m super excited about. After the shows, I’ll just be in the studio working my butt off! T

Meet Aimee Lettich-Pearson, the founder and creative director behind clothing brand Chiffique, a sustainable brand available in Sag Harbor.
BY SYDNEY SADICK
Aimee, why did you decide to launch your own brand, Chiffique?
A few years ago, during my downtime, I started watching episodes of the classic 1980s TV show Dynasty and I found myself captivated by the opulent silk nightgowns worn by the glamorous characters. I wanted something similar for myself but couldn’t find anything in stores or online, so I decided to create elegant nightwear myself. And Chiffique was born. What does Chiffique mean? “Beauty and elegance.” What were you doing before launching your brand?
I run multiple businesses in the fields of green energy, commercial real estate, construction materials manufacturing and hotels and hospitality. But I’ve had a lifelong passion for fashion and beauty.
How do you describe your brand?
The whole essence of the brand is about beauty and recapturing elegance in everyday life. Chiffique is not just about luxury; it’s about responsible luxury. Our commitment to sustainability is
evident in every aspect of the brand. Each garment is handmade in limited quantities. Only the finest silks are used, and the packaging is entirely recyclable. Our meticulous attention to detail and sustainability makes Chiffique a standout in the fashion industry. How do you stay creatively inspired? I find inspiration from the beautiful things that surround me every day. Many of the designs are a reflection of my Colombian heritage, inspired by the lush landscapes and beautiful mountains of Colombia. I say that there is a piece of me in every garment, meaning that each piece is not only elegant but deeply personal.
How is your brand perfect for the Hamptons woman?
Our brand embodies the sophistication, elegance, and relaxed luxury that aligns with the Hamptons lifestyle. Our versatile pieces are ideal for both casual and formal occasions, allowing her to feel exquisitely dressed whether she’s enjoying a day at the beach or attending a chic evening event. What’s next for you and for the brand?
We plan to continue expanding our collection, always maintaining our commitment to elegance, quality, and sustainability. We’re excited to introduce new designs that capture the timeless glamour of the past while staying relevant to modern tastes. Additionally, we aim to further our efforts in sustainability and ethical production, setting new standards in the luxury fashion industry.
Where can we find you?
The brand can be found online at chiffique.com, and our garments are also available at Love Binetti in Sag Harbor. There’s a new brick-andmortar establishment in Dubai and in the Faena Hotel in South Beach. We’re also showcasing in Palm Beach this coming fall/winter season. As for me, I am currently putting the final touches on the construction of a boutique hotel in the mountains of Colombia. The hotel will comprise 12 ultraluxurious bungalows and will be open in September.
She’s made major waves in the Sunshine State, and now she’s on the East End for the summer. Get to know Margit Brandt—senior luxury real estate advisor at Premier Estate Properties—with us. BY SYDNEY SADICK
Margit, you’re off the heels of a major Palm Beach deal. Tell us about it and how you were able to make this happen. Yes, we were extremely fortunate and proud to exclusively represent the buyers of Tarpon Island this past May, the largest residential transaction in America so far this year. There’s no real secret to how we made it happen. There’s a Lionel Messi quote that does resonate, though:
“I start early and I stay late, day after day, year after year; it took me 17 years and 114 days to become an ‘overnight success.’ ” You’ve sold more than $300 million in homes so far in 2024, and you’re only 36 years old. What do you attribute to your being a success so quickly?
We don’t really like to call it “success,” because like a piece of art or any creative process, it’s constantly evolving, and you have good and bad days. One day you’re up and one day you’re down. No matter what level you get to, that doesn’t change. What we try to focus on is having a positive attitude and treating each day with the same dedication to the craft. Why do you love summering in the Hamptons?
We love the feel of it—the ambiance, the vibe, the homes. You can choose to be out a lot and in the mix, or just relaxing at home. It’s the smell of the fresh flowers, the farmstands, the back roads, the stars at night. It’s this crazy hybrid to be so close to the center of everything in New York City, but also at the end of this beautiful island at the same time. That
confluence of connectivity and privacy, all coming together in one place, is special. You can feel like you’re in the remote fields of a vast farmland one minute, and the next minute be at the city’s hottest restaurant. How do you work with clients when you’re Out East?
We’re often back and forth to Palm Beach for select showings if we have a client flying back into town to see a special property or to discuss new upcoming listings, but when we’re Out East, it does coincide with our off-season and we try to keep it that way. It’s important to truly recharge the batteries and rejuvenate ahead of our prime season.
Tips for millennials who are interested in purchasing their first home in either the Hamptons or Palm Beach? Don’t be discouraged by the pricing and have realistic
expectations. The housing market is not what it used to be; it’s okay to rent for a bit longer, but when you can pull the trigger on purchasing, don’t wait. Don’t be afraid to invest in an upand-coming area, or a home that you can add value to. Just get into the market, even if it’s not your favorite street
or the perfect home. The area will grow and you can always improve your home as you save. Over time, it will pay off.
Favorite Hamptons activities?
SLT, SoulCycle at The Barn, going to farmer’s markets, taking out the boat in Sag Harbor, hosting friends for lunch and dinner out by our pool, Surf Lodge, Duryea’s. It’s the best family destination, and I’m really enjoying time with my kids here! T
Lexi, what sparked your passion for all things bridal?
I love love, and I love being part of people’s happiness and helping them create the most magical day. I’ve always been creative and entrepreneurial, so I combined my passions to create a space that I truly love. How did you get your start in this industry?
EMILY WHITE
Bridal influencer and proposal planner Lexi Tobin has a knack for helping people manage their “big day.” This newlywed shares how she spends her time off when she’s hanging on the East End! BY
I began my career as a proposal planner by chance helping out family members, and I noticed a need in the space. I then got engaged myself and took my followers along on my wedding planning journey. I now cover all topics from pre- to postwedding and have built a bridal community that I’m passionate about. What are the tangible steps of planning the perfect proposal?
No two proposals are the same, the same way no two relationships are the same. I always begin by getting to know my clients and their love story. In the same way that every relationship is unique, so is every proposal. I tailor each proposal to create an experience that reflects their personalities. You’re a newlywed. How did you and your husband meet? They say you meet your person when you least expect it. I met my husband at Common Ground in Montauk when I was at my sister’s bachelorette party! What are some nontraditional things you did at your wedding?
One of the favorite things I did was to write a personalized note to each of my guests as their escort cards. It was such a special way to welcome our guests before the ceremony began, and it was such a hit. We also replaced a wedding cake with a champagne tower, did a napkin wave during our entrance, and had a motherdaughter first dance.
What are some of the biggest bridal trends you’re seeing this year?
One of the biggest trends I’ve seen so far is drop-waist silhouettes and gowns that feature corsets. There has also been a huge rise in wedding day content creators to capture each moment in addition to a traditional photographer. What are some of your fave East End wedding venues?
Gurney’s Montauk Resort, Parrish Art Museum, and Wölffer Estate Vineyard. I love how all these venues have beautiful outdoor landscapes and backdrops to elevate both the ceremony and reception. Best Hamptons date spot?
Navy Beach is our fave spot for a date night! We enjoy the casual yet romantic ambiance sitting by the water, watching the sunset, and seeing yachts sail by. How do you plan on expanding your platform? By interviewing vendors in the space to help educate my followers and become more involved in podcasting and broadcast television.
“Call Her Daddy” host Alex Cooper is the most recent mega success in the podcast world. Here’s how the Gen Z superstar made it to the top of the pod heap. BY
AMY KAMIN
When Alex Cooper started her podcast in 2018 with her former roommate, Sofia Franklyn, the digital media company Barstool Sports recognized a hit and acquired it one month after its launch. So it makes sense that Barstool’s founder Dave Portnoy was a recent guest on “Call Her Daddy.” Since breaking out on her own three years later, Cooper has had stratospheric success hosting the most-listened-to podcast by women on Spotify.
Dubbed the Howard Stern for females and Gen-Z’s Barbara Walters, Cooper has become known for her interview skills, which have been compared to Oprah Winfrey’s. While getting down to the nitty-gritty, she’s simultaneously raunchy and shocking as she tackles topics such as sex, relationships, and pop culture, but she also remains sweet, charismatic, and approachable. Her candid nature gives her the ability to get people to talk to her and spill the tea about everything.
Taking her hit weekly podcast
to Spotify in 2021 after signing a three-year deal valued at $60 million, Cooper is right behind Joe Rogan and Ted Talks in popularity, with 10 million people listening per episode. Additionally, her roster of A-list guests rival the late-night talk shows and have included Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber, Demi Levato, Camila Cabello, Kate Hudson, Heidi Klum (whose daughter told her it’s a must), Jane Fonda, and more. On a recent episode, Gossip Girl star Chace Crawford, gushed
about Cooper, saying he was a fan and that he became obsessed during the pandemic
Join the club, Chace! Perhaps her communication and listening skills and patience with her guests are in her genes from her psychologist mom!
This Boston University graduate in film and television who was born in Newtown, Pennsylvania, started as a model. Her contract with Spotify expires soon, and Cooper, who is turning 30 this month, is looking at what’s next. She recently told Cosmopolitan, “I can never emphasize enough how obsessed I am with creating experiences for people to consume. This was never about fame. This was never about money.”

7. She has a toasted everything bagel with cream cheese every day for breakfast
But it might be a nice byproduct. Some are saying her production shingle, The Unwell Network, could be the next Harpo Productions, which Winfrey founded. Working with her husband, producer Matt Kaplan, Cooper has been scouting new talent and signed influencers Alix Earle and Madeline Argy to host podcasts. She’s branching out and building an empire using the “Call Her Daddy” formula that has a proven to be such gold for her. Will her next deal be for $100 million as rumored? Stay tuned! T
