HAMPTONS FAVE DIEGO BINETTI OPENS LOVE BINETTI STORE IN PB
Diego, why did you decide to open in Palm Beach? Palm Beach holds a special place in my heart. My family is in South Florida and in a certain way, this is my coming home. The combination of formality in the dress code paints a captivating picture. Palm Beach is unique, and I wanted to be part of it. How does this store compare to your Sag Harbor location? Our first store in Sag Harbor was launched in 2021 and the Palm Beach location is an extension of that success with a different sensibility. We focus on carrying the entire Binetti Ready to Wear collection complemented by a curated selection of accessories and
beauty items that embody PB; it’s fun, playful, bold, and glamorously chic. The store is so beautiful. What inspired the design? The timeless beauty of neutral beach tones from sandy beige to soft whites evoke a sense of tranquility and sophistication. This has served as the inspiration for our shop. The attention to detail, from the fine cashmere drapes framing the windows to the whimsical printed wallpaper by our artist Lolo Bonfanti, who creates our wonderful custom prints, creates a unique and inviting ambiance. What trends are Palm Beachers loving right now? It’s fascinating to see the diverse range of fashion trends in Palm Beach, catering to those who prefer a bold and glamorous look as well as those who opt for a younger, more seductive, and overall cleaner appearance. The Palm Beach ladies’ busy schedules and need for unique attire for various social events reflect the diversity in fashion for which we design. This ensures that each woman can find something that resonates with her personal style, that is exclusive, special, and wonderful.

A MOMENT WITH SARAH MINARDI, REAL ESTATE AGENT FOR SAUNDERS & ASSOCIATES
Rumor has it that the market is picking up. Tell us more! It’s true. Bonuses on Wall Street were strong. And with positive news from the Fed and banks easing up on interest rates, buyers are seeing beneficial gains in their financial portfolios. There’s increased interest in all areas. You’re one of the launching agents at Saunders. How did you land there? Saunders was an easy choice. It’s the most successful firm on the East End for a reason. It’s owned by Andrew and Colleen Saunders, and they spare no expense in making sure they support their selected brokers with everything we need to serve our clients. You’re also a consensus builder. Tell us about this. I would say I’m a listener and adapt easily. It’s not so much about consensus as it is about connecting the dots and approaching each deal with a unique perspective on what is required and who should be part of the strategy. Why should Palm Beachers buy in the Hamptons? The lifestyle fits their activities— golf, tennis, beach. Clients say they know they’re in PB because they see palm trees, and they know they’re in the Hamptons because the produce is farmfresh. Summers in the Hamptons and winters here are considered the gift of a wonderful life.

MUST KNOW: INTERIOR DESIGNER ELSA SOYARS
SPOTLIGHT ON… KAREN MURRAY: OWNER, FIVESTORY
Elsa Soyars
Karen, what’s new at Fivestory this year in PB? A few things! The store has been elevated and is more beautiful than ever. We also have a full selection of new brands we feel are so right for Palm Beach, and in addition to that, we have a pre-loved section that I think is the best out there. We are also partnering with the Brazilian Court Hotel; exclusive Fivestory items will be available in the hotel’s new luxury retail boutique! Lastly, we’re starting a new Instagram handle to debut our different trunk shows and events. How does Fivestory appeal to women of all ages? First of all, it’s the diversity of our offerings. We are multibranded in both our luxury
You’re based in the Hamptons and now also cater to Palm Beachers. Why did you expand into the PB market? We are based in the Hamptons, NYC, and L.A. There has been a demand for our services in the past couple of years in Palm Beach, Miami, and Boca Raton. How do you cater to your clients in Palm Beach? The same way we cater to our clients anywhere else. Different demographics require different aesthetics; there is a Hamptons vibe, an L.A. vibe, as well as a Palm Beach vibe. It requires the designer to have the ability and creativity to achieve the desired outcome—and it’s also fun! Where are your favorite Palm Beach spots? My favorite places in Palm Beach are the Flagler Museum, Le Bilboquet, Fourth Avenue for rich architecture and beautiful stores, Amici Market for great juices in the morning. I also love going to the beach. What are some of the current 2024 décor trends? We are currently experiencing the influences of bouclé fabrics, casual chic, wallpaper accents, and color is still prevalent depending on demographics. How do you describe your aesthetic? My aesthetic is very much like a chameleon. I morph to my client’s taste and personality. It also depends on where the project is.
Karen Murray
designer assortment and our pre-loved assortment—many of our brands are exclusive to Fivestory. We also have full-size ranges! We used to feel that Fivestory would only appeal to women ages 35–50, but so many mothers and daughters come in and shop together and love it— both the new collections and the pre-loved assortment! Not only do people love to shop in your store, but they also want to lounge and hang out. Bring us into the vibes! I think what’s special about Fivestory is our service proposition. If someone comes in, we try to get in their head
and understand how the customer wants to feel about what they’re wearing. We want our customers to feel wonderful when walking out of the store. We take the time to show them everything and try to stretch them a bit in their fashion choices. People even bring their friends to lounge on the couches. It’s a full experience. What are some of the brands you carry? Not all our brands are in every location, but we offer everything from Proenza Schouler to Etro to Missoni, Alexis, Cult Gaia, Huishan Zhang, Isabel Marant, Marni, Morphew, Nili Lotan, Prabal Gurung, and more. In our pre-loved section, we have Chanel, Dior, Gucci, Pucci, Valentino—basically everything! You have a major resell business. Tell us about it! We have every designer that everyone knows and loves in our pre-loved section. Palm Beach women dress so beautifully and attend so many fashion shows, and here at Fivestory they have access to so many brands. We also offer one-of-a-kind gowns in our pre-loved selection. It’s our treasure chest—you can find unique handbags, accessories, footwear, and beautiful fashion. What’s next for Fivestory? I want to expand in Florida. I also want to bring in more unique exclusive brands. And, of course, host many more trunk shows and events! What other cities can Palm Beachers shop Fivestory in? We’re in Southampton at 56 Jobs Lane; 1044 Madison Avenue in New York City; and in Palm Beach at 201 Royal Poinciana Way. We’ll also be offered in the Brazilian Court Hotel. Anything else? The most important things about Fivestory are the diversity of our selection, our ability to cater to all age groups, and our incredible service proposition. We also offer tons of events, trunk shows, closet edits, and more!
Tim Davis
TIM DAVIS: HAMPTONS LUXURY MARKET LEADER
Real Estate Power Broker at The Corcoran Group
Why is now a good time to buy in the Hamptons? It’s always a good time to buy in the Hamptons. This time of year in particular we’re seeing new inventory come to market, and given the historic low number of homes for sale, this is exciting news for the buyer pool that’s been waiting in the wings. What should Palm Beachers consider when purchasing a home Out East? Find a broker with market history and knowledge; find one who has spent years living and working in the immediate region to provide guidance and advice for your purchase. How do you work with Florida-based clients? I have long-term relationships with legendary brokers in the market. I refer to those agents and trust them to provide direction and counsel. I’m the expert in my market and I let them be the expert for my clients in theirs. What are you most excited for this year? I’m excited to start the new year with several wonderful properties now on the market and others being teed up in the coming months. This should be a strong year for rentals and sales. On a personal note, I’m looking forward to my son Christopher and his wife having our fourth grandchild in June. Cheers to the good things to come for us all!

creations; this inspires guests to create their own traditions. One of my family’s favorite traditions is spending the holidays on the island. Although it’s hard to beat Christmas in New York, there’s something about the joy of traveling to Palm Beach for the holidays. The excitement of the last day of school before winter break, coupled with the bliss that comes with escaping the cold for a bit, is something my family looks forward to each year. And what are the holidays without good food? I always cook Thanksgiving dinner at home in Palm Beach with the assistance of my three children. Of course, The Colony Hotel plays a role in these traditions and many more. At Swifty’s, our hotel’s infamous poolside restaurant, the meals
are always lively, delicious, and memorable, and even more so during the holidays. Another aspect of Palm Beach that has given rise to a fairly new family tradition of ours is the island’s equestrian culture. Most of my weekends are now spent with my middle daughter, Amelia, at local horse shows and equestrian events. We’ve formed the greatest little subcommunity here and enjoy participating in a sport that is relevant in both our Florida and New York circles. In this fast-paced world, where change is constant, family traditions in Palm Beach provide a sense of continuity and connection, and I’m grateful to share these traditions while also fostering them for others at The Colony. The timeless elegance and revelry of the hotel, coupled with the allure of Palm Beach, creates a backdrop for family stories and legacies. Whether it’s celebrating holidays, milestones, or simply basking in the beauty of Palm Beach, the traditions formed around The Colony Hotel and PB community have become a source of familial pride and a testament to the enduring spirit of our historic island. alm Beach, with its colorful and storied history, is a place where family traditions thrive. These traditions reflect the unique charm of the island and showcase the influences that have shaped our community over the years. Of course, the beach plays a central role in my family’s traditions. The sun, sand, and surf are integral elements of our Palm Beach experience. From leisurely strolls along the pristine shores to sunbathing, shell finding, and surfing, I find my family truly bonds over the simple pleasures of coastal living. My two daughters, Amelia and Maggie, love the surf classes The Colony provides. Just steps from the ocean, our Pink Paradise offers the most Instagrammable beach setup experience, including custom pink yeti coolers packed with our favorite snacks. This beachfront picnic is yet another one of my favorite traditions. Social events also hold a special place in our family’s favored Palm Beach traditions. We’re fortunate enough to enjoy attending the glamorous galas and charity events that reinforce the strong ties of Palm Beach and, more importantly, benefit the meaningful causes that serve our community and beyond. These occasions are not only opportunities for socializing but also platforms for passing down values from one generation to the next. We love to actively engage in philanthropy, contributing to various causes and organizations that align with our values. Many of these

For fashion designer Liz Lange, Palm Beach has been the center of some of her favorite—and most fashionable— times. The CEO and creative director at Figue shares some of her nostalgic memories for Spotlight. BY LIZ LANGE
M
y first memory of Palm Beach is from 1972, when I was 6 years old. My parents were vacationing there and staying at The Breakers hotel. My 4-year-old sister and I were at home in New York City with my grandparents. My parents decided that it would be fun for us to meet them there, so my grandparents took us to the airport, walked us onboard the plane, and buckled us into our seats. I can still recall the pretty stewardess and picture us in those seats. Back then, even non-passengers could board and disembark before takeoff. There was virtually no security. Can you imagine? I was scared and cried most of the flight, but then we landed in paradise! I will never forget my first glimpse of this magical island. It started with the tiny airport, which was so different from the ones I was used to in big cities. There was no jetway, so we deplaned outside amid palm trees, clear skies, and bright sunshine everywhere. My mother told me that Palm Beach was famous for Coconut Patties and piña coladas. Suffice it to say that I drank numerous virgin piña coladas by the pool that week and consumed my fair share of Coconut Patties. Today I find them both much too sweet,
Liz Lange
but back then I adored them. Palm Beach was still formal. I’ll never forget the time my dad walked into The Breakers’ dining room for breakfast in his tennis whites. It was the 1970s, and he, like many others, was all about tennis. The maître d’ was appalled and informed him that men were required to wear a jacket and tie for breakfast.

love. There wasn’t a kids club or game room, that’s for sure. For fun, we’d rent bicycles and ride along the well-known trail (where I now live!) and occasionally visit Lion Country Safari, a zoo that to me felt as real as being on an actual safari in Africa. Despite Palm Beach still being quite old-school, most of my favorite places from back then are sadly long gone. For dinner, it was all about Testa’s. We would visit frequently and enjoy the famous baked ziti while sitting outside in the backyard beneath the stars. That spot is now the location of Henry’s, The Breakers–owned restaurant. For lunch, 4. we’d often go to Hamburger Heaven (today it’s the SurfSide Diner). We’d sit at the counter and eat burgers, followed by the world-famous coconut layer cake. It’s the best! Every now 3. and then, we’d go for a “fancy” dinner with my parents at Petite
Marmite on Worth Avenue. The Esplanade at the end of Worth Avenue was also a popular shopping and dining destination; it still exists, but isn’t the same. It once housed the still-popular Café L’Europe, which has since relocated, and Hatties, where my fashionobsessed mother would often shop. They sold the top designers of the day, including Ungaro, Krizia, Missoni, Armani, and more. My mother is chic, and she’d wear her favorite Jack Rogers slides with little shift dresses, very much the way Jackie O, who was often in Palm Beach, also dressed. None of these places exist anymore, and sadly, many of the iconic Palm Beach ladies are no longer alive, but the vibe remains the same. I share my mother’s love of running around during the day in short ’60s-style shift dresses. When night falls, I try to do my part to bring back the glamour of the old great Palm Beach doyennes by donning long flowing ’70s-style kaftans from Figue and lots of oversize chunky gold jewelry while hosting big dinners outside under the swaying palm trees. If I squint, it might almost be 1972 again. T

MEETING THE PARENTS
That feeling of being face-to-face with your significant other’s family for the first time—what to bring? How to act? You’re probably feeling all the feels. Our resident dating expert is back to make sure you’re all set. BY LINDSEY METSELAAR Spotlight fam, I’ve missed you! There is truly nothing better than a spring spent in Palm Beach. This is such a family town, and of course, that got me thinking: What better to discuss than meeting someone’s family for the first time? It can be nerve-racking, but with these tips I can guarantee that you’ll make an amazing impression. 1. Bring a Gift. If you’re going over to their parent’s home for the first time, or if you’re joining them for vacation, it’s always a good look to bring a gift. It’s important to not bring just any gift. Ask your significant other to tell you a little bit about what their parents are into. Are they winos, whiskey people, dessert fans? This will determine what type of gift you go with. If all else fails, flowers are always a good idea!
3. Be Interested in Getting to Know Them. Our parents want to be seen and to be included. When a new person comes into your life, parents might feel like they’re losing their child. If you, as their significant other and a new addition to the group, are
Lindsey Metselaar and husband Steven Greene
actually interested in getting to know your partner’s parents, it can make them feel relevant and needed once again. Ask them questions about what your other half was like growing up, and even questions about their own childhood. 4. Help Out. If you’re staying with your significant other’s parents in their home, it’s crucial to be helpful around the house. Make the bed, offer to help with
22 \ Palm Beach Spring 2024 \ Spotlight
the dishes, and don’t get too comfortable too quickly. This will go a long way with their parents, and it will show them that you were raised well. 5. Hold Off On the PDA. Public displays of affection in moderation are okay, unless you’re around their parents for the first time. Their folks aren’t dumb. They know you’re loving each other in physical ways. However, it’s not wise to be all over each other when your focus
is making a good impression. You can save the PDA for later on, and instead focus on tips 1–4. If you’re meeting their family, don’t worry, you got this. With the right person, it won’t seem so daunting. Family time can be tough, but if you listen to my advice, you’ll be off to a great start. For more, you can follow @wemetatacme on Instagram or listen to We Met At Acme wherever you listen to podcasts. Hope to see you all in Palm Beach soon! T

2. Don’t Be Shy. Of course you’re nervous. This is a big deal. However, it’s important to try to not let your nerves get the best of you and keep you quiet. Their parents want to see and get to know your personality! In this case, saying too much is better than saying nothing at all.
Following this pregnancy shoot, Lindsey and Steven welcomed son Zachary in January. He was born on Lindsey’s grandfather’s birthday and his middle name is George, after Steven’s grandfather. Welcome, Zachary!

HOW TO STYLE YOUR TABLE IN 2024
Hosting styles reflect our evolving preferences, and this year, four major trends add fresh sophistication, as well as consciousness, to the gatherings we’ll have. Welcome! BY STEPHANIE NASS Hosting trends this year are marked by a conscious effort to blend style with sustainability and to embrace classic elements like silver and bows. The shift toward quiet luxury reflects a desire for sophistication without obvious extravagance. By incorporating these trends into events, hosts can create memorable experiences that resonate with the values of the modern era.

much silver at Mary Mahoney, but I especially love the Lappas flower vases/candlesticks and Ercuis petits fours stand. Bows: Lately, bows have become a popular design element in party aesthetics. They add a playful and whimsical touch to decorations, invitations, and even attire. Whether incorporated into chair covers, napkin rings, or gift wrapping, bows bring a sense of celebration and festivity to the occasion. This trend is about embracing the art of gift-giving and elevating the overall visual appeal of the event with charming and decorative bows. To partake in this trend, put on your slippers from Hive or add a bespoke bow from LoveShackFancy to your dining room. Quiet Luxury: This is a trend that emphasizes understated elegance and refined simplicity.

Quiet luxury can be conveyed with muted color palettes, high-quality materials, and attention to detail in every aspect of the event. The Kemble Shop has beautiful handmade place mats. Sustainability: One of the key trends in welcoming guests is sustainability. As global awareness of environmental issues continues to rise, individuals are increasingly opting for eco-friendly practices in various aspects of their lives, including hosting events. Now more than ever, paper plates and napkins are out. Reusable long-lasting tableware is in. Dozens of antique stores on South Dixie Highway in West Palm Beach resell handcrafted tableware that has already proven its ability to endure. Moreover, you can find an extra-special curation of vintage at Danielle Rollins’ showroom. Finally, Pioneer Linens has a selection of Yves Delorme tea towels that eliminates the need for the constant use of paper towel. Silver: This lustrous metal is having a moment in design, but especially within the realm of hosting. After years with gold in the spotlight, silver flatware, vases, and plate details are everywhere. GENERATION
Love
Picture-perfect Palm Beachers Kim Murstein and Grandma Gail have made our island paradise the backdrop to their success as podcast hosts and social media stars. Locals get excited whenever the beloved multigenerational duo is spotted around Worth Avenue or at The Royal—and we do, too! As Spotlight celebrates families in this issue, we couldn’t be happier to get the full backstory from the ladies we can’t stop listening to! BY SYDNEY SADICK PHOTOGRAPHY BY AZALEA JEANETTE
It’s been three years since you launched your podcast, “Excuse My Grandma.” When did you both realize you had a hit? Kim Murstein: I realized it was a hit when we started receiving messages from listeners across different age groups, telling us how much they related to our conversations and enjoyed the humor and insights. Every day, we see our follower count and community grow, and brands reach out to us to promote their products. Grandma Gail: When everyone started stopping me on the street to take a selfie, I knew people liked us!
For those who don’t know, what’s the backstory on starting your podcast? Kim: During the pandemic, I was living in New York City and working remotely for Cheddar News as a business and news producer and entertainment reporter. I decided I wanted a change of pace and moved in with my grandparents in Palm Beach. I was going on a ton of dates, and my grandma got overly involved in all of them, of course, but was also shocked about all the modern ways of dating, such as dating apps and sliding into the DMs. My grandma and I always had
these hilarious and insightful conversations, and one day we thought, Why not share these with the world? After starting our podcast, we shortly created our TikTok and Instagram accounts, which quickly grew. What started as a fun project became a go-to source for people to bridge the generational gap. Gail, what was your life like pre-podcast? Gail: I was playing bridge, having lunch with my friends, and going to Broadway to see the latest shows. What does “Excuse my Grandma” focus on?
Gail: The show is all about combining humor, life advice, and generational perspectives. We tackle everything from dating to fashion to daily life challenges, providing both modern and traditional viewpoints. Kim, why do you choose to spend your winters in PB with your grandmother? Kim: It’s not only a beautiful escape but also gives me quality time with Grandma. Our best conversations and video ideas often come from our day-to-day living together. Tell us about the dynamic of your relationship.
Palm Beach Spring 2024 \ Spotlight\ 27
Kim: We’re incredibly close; she’s not just my grandma but also one of my best friends. We complement each other well. I bring in the modern perspective, while she adds timeless wisdom and wit. Gail: We make a great team. She’s the yin to my yang! Have you considered giving up your apartment in New York City and moving to Palm Beach full-time, Kim? Kim: I’ve thought about it, especially during the New York winters! But my life is still very much rooted in NYC. Plus, the contrast between the two places brings a nice balance to my life. What does a typical day look like for you both?
Gail and Kim recording an episode of their hit podcast
Kim: I wake up and Grandma has already been up for a few hours. I go into the kitchen to make breakfast and there’s always fresh-squeezed orange juice that Grandma Gail made for me! After that, Grandma nags me to get out of bed. (I’m not a morning person!) I usually take a walk or exercise. That’s followed by some brainstorming for the podcast or video content. I spend a good chunk of the day recording with Grandma or editing, with breaks for our favorite activities, including beach time, shopping, and golf. And we always end the day with family dinner. Obviously followed by some reality TV before bed. Gail: My typical day is getting up, squeezing juice for Kimberly, going about my business until she gets her act together around
chief of Spotlight, Sydney Sadick! Dream podcast guests? Alex Cooper of the “Call Her Daddy” podcast. Gail: Oprah Winfrey, Bette Midler, and Barbra Streisand! Kim, what’s your relationship status? Kim: Currently single and navigating the dating world, which is a frequent topic on our podcast! What’s the dating scene like in Palm Beach? Kim: It’s a romantic place to date, in my opinion, with swaying palm trees and beautiful sunsets. There are opportunities for activity dates, like golf or a day at the beach. Best places to meet someone are post-dinner at Cucina, HMF, Le Bar, and trivia night at Swifty’s. What qualities are you looking for The co-hosts in younger days in someone? Kim: Someone who adds to my life, doesn’t just coast! I value someone who can make great conversation, is driven, and has a sense of humor. Gail, what kind of dating advice do you give Kim? Gail: Date someone who has similar noon. And then we work, work, values and you work! But I must stop by 4 p.m. enjoy being with. to rest and watch TV. How do you both describe your personal styles? Kim: Classic! Grandma Gail has taught me to dress for what looks best on my body, which is often simple and timeless. We love black and white, we love neutrals, and we love a good white button-down! You’ll never catch Grandma without one under a sweater, and of course a pair of ballet flats and a great handbag. You guys have gotten to a place where you get recognized all over the streets of PB and beyond. Gail, did you ever expect this type of fame? Gail: No, this was completely foreign to anything I could have imagined! The recognition from fans in New York, a college campus in New Orleans, here in Palm Beach, and as far away as Paris has been astounding to me. I appreciate everyone who watches us and look forward to growing our community even more. I’m so amazed that people identify with our content. Gail, what does your husband think of all this? Gail: He’s very proud of me and Kim! He tells everyone about us and is our biggest fan. Are we ever going to meet him? Kim: All our followers are dying to meet Poppy! We promised everyone when we reach 1 million followers they’ll get a full introduction. Kim, what about your mom? Kim: My mom is [actually] there with us most of the time that we’re filming…behind the camera! The three of us do everything together. Everyone’s bound to meet her at some point, too. How similar are you and Kim, Gail? Gail: We’re similar in everything except our approach to dating! What’s something people would be surprised to learn about each of you? Kim: I love all things 1950s. I’m always listening to my record player and watching old movies.

Kim and I have been re-creating a lot of ’50s dishes, from Jell-O parfaits to string bean casserole! What are your plans for the future? Kim: Our aim is to continue making content that resonates
with both younger and older generations. We’re continuing to explore collaborations with brands that appeal to women of all ages. We can’t wait to expand our audience and hopefully meet our community in person soon. We hope to connect with women of all ages, whether that be through a book, TV, or coming out with our own product!

decade and, like the Hamptons, Palm Beach is incredibly exclusive. We’ve always been drawn to the sheer beauty this place has to offer. It’s without question the most perfectly manicured and classy place in the U.S. Truthfully, we’ve been planning this move for nearly a decade, and once this location and unique collaboration opportunity became available, we pounced. Post COVID, the shift is undeniable. Many of our clients are now in the greater Palm Beach area, which makes the transition for us relatively seamless. For those who might be meeting you for the first time here, tell us about yourselves! We opened our first store together in 2007 in the Hamptons, before even being engaged. We both had fashion backgrounds and strong work ethics. There weren’t many boutiques out there that offered curated men’s and women’s. How is this store similar and different from your Hamptons location? This location brings another element: Art! Collaborating with a notable and prominent art gallery, Haven Palm Beach, was a perfect fit. It’s where fashion meets art. Now more than ever it’s about the entire experience,
and this is one not to be missed. We’ve always made every customer feel welcome by giving them an amazing shopping and intimate experience. This will be our first season here, so we’re eager to hear what our customers’ needs are as well. Tell us about the location! The location is buzzing and is a personal favorite of ours. Located on Royal Poinciana Way in between some of our favorite restaurants, Almond and Henry’s. We will always be a boutique, and we want it to feel that way when you shop. We like to get to know our clients and establish long-lasting relationships. It isn’t always about making the sale in that moment, but the relationship that comes first. What are you most excited about? We’re not a pop-up; we’re here to stay. We’re invested in the community now that our 4-year-old son got into school here in Palm Beach. We’re excited to raise him here and excited for our new journey, not only in business but family life.
Any final words? Jarret’s also in the real estate business here in Florida, and it’s booming with both resale and new development. He has taken on more of a position of an advisor, which has been so amazing to witness. With the relationships and lifelong bonds Jarret has formed, he’s privy to information that other real estate brokers are not.

I grew up in Palm Beach and attended Palm Beach Day Academy, but we luckily moved back here from London in 2015. What’s it like raising a family of your own here? Palm Beach is an ideal place to raise a family. Not only for its beauty, but also because it’s a multicultural entrepreneurial island that feels like small town living. It’s the kind of place where you know your neighbors,
and everyone is extremely supportive of one another. What are your favorite PB family traditions? Participating in the Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning, family dinners at Pizza al Fresco, and Sunday beach days. What’s it been like taking over your mom’s iconic handbag brand? It’s been a rewarding challenge. I took over a few months before COVID hit, and it was a learning lesson relaunching a brand during a worldwide pandemic. But this allowed me additional time to focus on what goals I wanted to accomplish. Primarily, I sought to reintroduce the brand to a younger generation and create fashion-forward styles that stand the test of time. What did she teach you about being a mom? That family is everything. Nothing is more important. How do you juggle your career and children? I genuinely prioritize my family
because I have the luxury of being able to work from anywhere. It’s not an easy task to juggle a family and a full-time job, but I consider myself lucky to have the opportunity to run an iconic brand surrounded by such a supportive community. Wildest Dreams Logan Horne
See what we did there with the title of Taylor Swift’s beloved song?! Well, if you’ve been keeping up with pop culture, you remember the viral moment when she and beau Travis Kelce kissed publicly at her concert in Argentina. The connection: Kelce happened to be wearing the designs of J. Logan Home by Logan Horne. Get to know this Palm Beacher and designer of the moment! BY SYDNEY SADICK Logan, we have to start here: How did Travis Kelce first find out about your brand? He was introduced to the brand in early 2023 by shopping at The Webster South Beach store. Did you know who Travis was at first? He was definitely on my radar, but mostly for his sense of style. Admittedly, I’m not much of a follower of sports. How has life changed since Travis was wearing one of your designs while cheering on Taylor Swift at her concert? Interest in the brand has definitely spiked since he was first photographed in my shirts. It’s been fun seeing all my hard work pay off on such a large scale. I think you’d have to be living under a rock if you didn’t see the kiss videos from her Argentina show. Are you a Swiftie? I’ve always been a fan of Taylor and her music, but I will say my
interest has definitely increased lately due to her relationship with T.K. It’s been fun to watch it play out and to know that my little brand has played a little part in their love story. Speaking of your story, tell us about J. Logan Home. J. Logan Home is a sustainable luxury brand that creates unique apparel and home décor objects from repurposed preowned designer materials. Each piece is one-of-a-kind and handmade in Palm Beach. How do you source these incredible fabrics? The hunt is truly global at this point. Online resellers like Vestiaire Collective and The RealReal are great resources, but I also like to support small businesses by shopping thrift and consignment stores throughout my travels. What inspired you to launch your brand? J. Logan Home was founded

during the quarantine at a time of extreme boredom and uncertainty over the future of fashion. My goal from the outset was to create a brand from entirely preexisting materials. Having spent the better part of two decades working in almost every facet of the fashion business, I have seen firsthand how wasteful the industry can be. The pandemic gave me the opportunity to reassess my role within the business and how I could help move the needle in the right direction. What sparked your move from NYC to Palm Beach? I grew up in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, which is where I ended up at the beginning of the COVID pandemic, like many New Yorkers who decamped to Florida during this time. I ended up in Palm Beach because it reminded me a lot of my hometown but also had a lot of New Yorkers and restaurants from the city, so it felt like the right mix of things I was looking for. What were you doing before? Name a job in the fashion industry and I’ve probably done it. Most notable is probably my time spent as a celebrity stylist. Tell us about the fashion community that has developed here in Palm Beach. There’s so much growth going on and a lot of new energy from people like me
who have moved or founded businesses here over the past few years. Sarah Bray-West, Mish Tworkowski of Mish Fine Jewelry, and Emme Parsons are some of the other local designers I have formed friendships with since moving to the area. It’s such a small community, so having their support is important and gives me a bit of a sense of what I had in New York. How are you activating in PB this spring? We have several trunk shows coming up in February at The Colony with our friends Lingua Franca over at the Royal Poinciana! Proudest moment of working on your brand? Walking into The Webster the first time and seeing my collection hanging on the same racks as many of the designers I have admired for ages. What’s something people would be surprised to learn about you? I rarely wear my own line! T

BY SYDNEY SADICK Tell us about your store, Cou! Cou is a visionary brand, proudly female-founded, situated in the vibrant locale of Palm Beach, with a seasonal location in Muskoka, Canada. Rooted in mindfulness, Cou takes a conscientious approach to crafting and sourcing its products. How did you get into retail? Upon graduating from university at the onset of the pandemic, I embarked on the journey of opening our store alongside my mother. Driven by a shared passion, our venture was born out of a desire to elevate the retail experience in Muskoka. Our vision was to create a space that authentically mirrored the unique essence of the Muskoka community, and its luxury and individuality. Does the name Cou have a special meaning? Cou carries a profound meaning as a childhood name, intricately woven into the heartfelt connections between my mom and me, along with the enduring bonds formed through lifelong friendships. Drawing inspiration from the multigenerational relationships that have enriched our lives, my mom and I embarked on the journey to establish a space where everyone can discover a unique piece that instills confidence. Why did you decide to open in Palm Beach? To bring a fashion-forward store that’s looking to expand and carry a larger platform
of designers who are striving to create something different. 1.

6 p.m. Cruise with my girl Moogli for date night.
You are the founder and CEO of Megababe Beauty. What are some of your goals for the brand in 2024? We have major things happening for Megababe in 2024. Our biggest goal is to have Thigh Rescue within five minutes of anyone who needs it, and I sure know my fellow Floridians do! You’re also the host of the “Boob Sweat” podcast. What is your favorite part about podcasting? I love getting to examine topics that I always touch on on my Instagram in more depth on “Boob Sweat.” I’m able to have meaningful conversations with experts in the field about everything from body acceptance to why the plus-size fashion industry is failing, to tips on dating in your thirties, and everything in between. What are some of your favorite fashion trends you’ve spotted around the island? One thing that I’ve noticed since living in Palm Beach is that if you don’t have a Birkin bag, you should get one! Why did you decide to move from NYC to Palm Beach? After spending
20 years of wintertime in New York City, I was ready to skip the puffer jackets and snow, but I didn’t want to lose the New York energy, so I came here. Do you think PB will be your forever home? I love coming here for the winter. We also split our time between NYC and Maine during the summer and fall, but our goal is for Palm Beach to always be a home for us! How has your life changed since moving here? Palm Beach has the most amazing community. I’ve made so many wonderful friends here. I’m living my best Golden Girls life! What would the perfect date night in Palm Beach look like for you? My husband, John, and I love to hop in our convertible with our dogs, Moogli and Ruth. We head to the Four Seasons and eat at Florie’s. They have the most delicious food and get bonus points for being dog-friendly! What is your favorite brunch spot in town? My ideal brunch is brunching on the go. I love to grab a croissant from Sant Ambroeus and take a walk on the Lake Trail. The best part about living in Florida is the amazing weather and all the activities that you can do year-round. What’s your top wellness tip for 2024? If you don’t absolutely want to do it, say no. How are you able to prioritize a good work/life balance? The pace here is so chill, it’s very different from NYC. I’m an early riser, so I like to do something active in the morning, like take a long walk or play a game of pickleball. It’s also nice to be able to take a quick break during the workday and go jump in the ocean! What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned throughout your career? Be nice, it’s free! T
