Real Estate Broker, The Corcoran Group
Tim, what’s the Hamptons real estate market like now?
We’re gearing up for the season. We’re having serious discussions with clients regarding pricing strategy and bringing some stunning new inventory to market.
Why is it a great time to buy on the East End?
The sellers seem to be in tune with the buyer pool from a price perspective and the majority of the new listings are coming to market with price alignment.
What are some new 2025 Hamptons developments we should know about?
I’m bringing this spectacular home to market in the Lanes of Amagansett developed by the owners of the Lowell Hotel in New York. It’s a masterpiece of quality and style, quiet luxury and comfort. Why should clients work with you?
I have a deep history and knowledge of the market, given my 45-year career selling the Hamptons to the world. I can speak on trends and cycles, market growth, and the most important reasons to buy here. What are you looking forward to this year?
One of my passions is sharing experiences with others, particularly on the East End, whether it’s a grilled meal, a day on the water, or discovering the starlit skies on a moonless night.

Learn about all of the coveted beauty treatments for spring that will leave you feeling fresh-faced and ready to take on the new season.
I’m Joie Tavernise, founder of JTAV Clinical Skincare, where we believe that no two faces are alike. With more than 20 years of experience as an esthetician, I’m dual-licensed in Florida and New York. Our flagship location is on the Upper East Side, and we’ve recently expanded to Tribeca. Additionally, we have a pop-up location in Palm Beach for the winter season.
At JTAV, we offer personalized skincare treatments that blend modern technologies with traditional approaches, tailored to each client’s unique needs. I’ve rounded up some of my favorite beauty treatments for spring in hopes that you’ll find the perfect fit for you!
•Proactive Collagen Therapy
This is the year to focus on building up your collagen reserves. More and more clients are looking into noninvasive treatments like Ultherapy and Sofwave to support long-term collagen health. These treatments are a natural and effective way to keep your skin youthful by “banking” collagen for the future.
•Skin Boosters
I’m always researching ways to increase the efficacy of our treatments, and the way to do this is through boosters, specifically those made with salmon sperm extract.
It may sound strange, but it’s a cuttingedge ingredient that stimulates fibroblast production to promote cell growth and regeneration. Adding this booster to your treatment promotes intense collagen production, smooths fine lines and wrinkles, and rehydrates your skin at a cellular level.
•Effortless Effective Solutions
We all have busy lifestyles, so there’s nothing better than using a product that we can set and forget. I believe that patches—whether invisible or star-shaped—are going to continue to grow in popularity this year. There are effective patches available for blemishes, under eyes, wrinkles, and lips.
•Low-Maintenance
High-Impact Skincare
Now more than ever, we want products that deliver—ones that give us results we can see in the mirror. The most sought-after products this year are made with highquality ingredients and backed by real clinical results. I’m all about embracing a more focused, minimalist routine that’s tailored to my specific needs.
•LED Light Therapy
The easiest way to give your skin a boost is with an LED face mask. I use my JTAV
Take time to center yourself
Before starting my skincare routine, I take time in the morning to check in with my body and do some breathing exercises. If I have time, I try to center myself with a meditation. This small act helps me to show up for myself and find the balance I need.
Find a hobby you love I have a blast DJing and dancing to music. It makes me feel happy, alive, and creative. The afterglow shows on my skin for hours afterward.
Surround yourself with people and experiences that nourish you
Whether it’s friends, food, or skincare treatments, it’s important to figure out what works for you and let go of what doesn’t.
Glow-Pro LED Mask for just 10 minutes a day—whether I’m working out, reading, working, or traveling—to keep my skin healthy and glowing.
•Lymphatic Drainage
Massages
If you haven’t tried a lymphatic drainage massage, it’s time to give it a whirl! The treatment is excellent for boosting blood flow, decreasing swelling and bloating, and enhancing lymphatic drainage on both the face and the body. This is a timeless practice and has been gaining more attention lately as people quickly pick up on its amazing benefits.
•Elevated Scalp and Body Care
When it comes to skincare, areas like the scalp and body were often overlooked in the past and treated with the same kinds of products. Now, there are treatments designed specifically for these areas, using skincare-level ingredients to address targeted concerns. T
It’s never too late for a fresh start! Now’s the perfect time to reflect, reaccess and make positive changes that will set you on the right path. Here are some easy steps to a new and better you.
As the chill of winter begins to fade and the first signs of spring emerge, I’m filled with a sense of renewal and possibility. I’m someone who thrives in the warmth and vibrancy of the sun, so spring in Palm Beach brings with it the opportunity to reset after a bustling winter season. As the owner and CEO of The Colony Hotel in Palm Beach, and now also the Hedges Inn in East Hampton,
the seasonality of these two complementary properties serves as a constant reminder of the passage of time and the seasons that shape our lives.
There’s something magical about this time of year—a moment to shake off the old and welcome the excitement of what lies ahead. As someone who navigates both personal and professional renewal, here are a few tips I use to embrace this season of transformation:
•Reevaluate Your Goals
Spring is the perfect time to pause and realign your goals. Reflect on what you set out to achieve at the start of the year. Are these goals still relevant to where you are now? If not, it’s okay to adjust them. At The Colony, the team and I always take a step back and review the past season: What went well? What didn’t? What were our wins, and where did we fall short—and why? The key is to be honest and realistic with yourself. Reflect, recalibrate,
the mental fog, making room for new energy, sharper focus, and a sense of calm clarity. •Let Go of Negativity
Spring cleaning isn’t just physical—it’s emotional, too. Take time to reflect on any negative thoughts or past grievances that may be weighing you down. Whether you journal about them or talk them through with a friend, acknowledging these burdens and releasing them creates space for growth and positivity. In business, it’s easy to get stuck in past mistakes. But holding on to negativity doesn’t help; learning from it and redirecting your energy is what truly moves you forward. There are no losses—only lessons.
•Seek
Transform your physical environment— edit, simplify, and streamline. Tackle one room at a time, and let go of anything that no longer serves a purpose. If you haven’t used or worn something in the past year, it’s likely you won’t miss it. Whether you donate, sell, or recycle these items, letting go becomes not just easier, but more meaningful. A clutter-free space is more than just tidy—it clears
With each season comes new experiences, and we’re embracing this at The Colony. I’m thrilled to share that we are purchasing the Hedges Inn in East Hampton, New York, which will open its doors for the Summer 2025 season. A new project, a new space—it’s an exciting chapter ahead! Just as we refresh our businesses and our strategies, spring is the perfect time to welcome new adventures.
As we step into this season, let’s celebrate the opportunity for renewal. By clearing out the old and making space for the new—in our homes, our hearts, and our minds—we can fully embrace the beauty of spring and move forward with confidence. Here’s to fresh starts and new beginnings! T
Our resident advisor on local events sits down for tea with Audrey Gruss, founder and chairwoman of the Hope for Depression Research Foundation, to discuss the very personal reason for her work to help others.
Spotlight had the distinct honor of visiting with Audrey Gruss, founder and chairwoman of the Hope for Depression Research Foundation (HDRF), recently in Palm Beach. We discussed what inspired her to create the organization, the impact of the foundation’s work, and her hopes for the future of foundation.
When Hope passed in 2005, Gruss vowed that she would do all in her power to help conquer this dreaded illness. As her mother’s patient advocate, she had consulted with leading psychopharmacologists to better understand her various treatments and medications. She soon discovered the staggering reality that in the 25 years since the introduction of Prozac and other SSRI antidepressants, there has been virtually no advances in the treatment of depression. “At least 50 percent of the people who need depression medication don’t respond to the current medications out there,” Gruss told us.
THE PALPABLE IMPACT
HDRF launched its Depression Task Force (DTF), a select group of world-renowned researchers working as a team to develop a unique program of depression research, based on the most advanced techniques in molecular biology, electrophysiology, and genetics. “I identified what could
help is more research dollars,” Gruss says. It’s unprecedented for such successful investigators, each affiliated with a different university, to unite on a common project.
and circuits. These discoveries will provide answers for how potential new treatments for depressive mind/brain disorders might work.
The Race of Hope is an annual fundraising event that takes place in Palm Beach, Southampton, and NYC (Teen Race of Hope). The race features a 5K run/walk. All are welcome—runners, walkers, children, mental health advocates, and survivors. Many participants do so in honor of loved ones who have struggled with depression, as a way to both raise awareness and show support for those affected by the illness.
The Hope for Depression Research Foundation Annual Luncheon Seminar, held in New York City, is one of the organization’s most significant fundraising efforts. This event brings together a psychiatrist and a neuroscientist to speak on depression, as well as a celebrity of honor who is presented with the Hope Award for Depression Advocacy.
Gruss established the organization in 2007, driven by her personal experiences with the effects of depression on her mother, Hope, who suffered for most of her late adult life.
The DTF has identified imbalances in nerve circuits throughout key brain regions. What’s clear is that depression is not just a disruption in one brain area but in many connected areas
Through HDRF’s funding discovery, researchers have identified 20 genes and three proteins that are key in the development of new options, antidepressants, and treatments. “Everybody can make a difference,” Gruss reminds us. She and the foundation continue to be committed to finding a cure. T
For those of us constantly on the go, it can be tough to focus on personal health and wellness. The founder and CEO of GORGIE is here to spill her can’t-miss tips and tricks for living your best life as a business owner.
As an entrepreneur, finding balance between work and wellness can be challenging, but over the years I’ve developed a routine that helps me stay grounded and energized. For me, maintaining a healthy lifestyle is essential for keeping up with the fast pace of running my business and navigating life’s trials and tribulations.
From starting my mornings with movement to prioritizing time with my kids, these tips are what keep me feeling my best. I’m excited to share the little habits and rituals that help me stay healthy, focused, and ready to take on the day—no matter what it throws my way.
There’s nothing better than getting my body moving to start the day—preferably with a bit of sunshine. Whether it’s going for a run on the beach with my husband or daughter, or a bike ride to my favorite workout class, I love to get my body moving. In turn, this helps me get my mind moving as well. It’s my own personal form of meditation.
I like to think of myself as an eternal optimist, and I truly need to be in order to run my business. Life as an entrepreneur is nonstop and ever changing. There are going to be a lot of curveballs thrown your way—that’s just the way life goes. Focusing on maintaining my glass-half-full mentality is how I stay grounded as a business owner and boss.
Above all, my children are my top priority. Spending time with them is both restorative and inspirational. Being in their presence helps me settle down after a busy day, while simultaneously serving as a reminder of why I work so hard. I want to set the best example I possibly can for my son and daughter and show them that hard work and effort pay off.
GORGIE, Of Course!
I wouldn’t be an entrepreneur if I didn’t love my own product, would I? My GORGIE clean energy drink is truly that good. Before the product even existed, I had an idea to create a wellness brand because I didn’t want to take my bottles and bottles of supplements on the go with me. GORGIE has B vitamins, biotin, L-Theanine, and that caffeine boost I need to take me from meetings, workouts, soccer practice—and all in beautiful packaging. It’s got all the things I need to maintain a healthy lifestyle! T
•Grab your GORGIE of choice.
•Add lemonade .
•Add club soda or prosecco — depending on what type of mood you’re in. Drink up and enjoy!
Looking to create space for a new relationship in your life? It might be as simple as rearranging some old aspects and getting rid of those that no longer serve. Here are five ways to do that—and possibly welcome a potential love match.
Manifesting is real—and I’m so excited to share my favorite Feng Shui and manifestation exercises with you. Feng Shui is an ancient Chinese practice that uses energy forces to create harmony between people and their surroundings. If you haven’t read The Secret, by Rhonda Byrne, it’s all about how the energy you put out is the energy you get back. There are also tons of Feng Shui experts who swear by creating a space to welcome someone special into your life. Here are my best practices for Feng Shuing someone new in:
1. Declutter
Listen to me. From one hoarder to another, it’s time to get a grip. I know you love those jeans, but have you worn them in more than a year? How about more than two?
If the answer is no, you have to get rid of them. What about all the stuff that keeps accumulating on your entryway table? You’d be surprised, but that may be hindering you a lot more than you think.
2. Create space in your room
Yes, you live alone. That doesn’t mean you can’t create the bedroom that you’d want to have with a potential partner. Make their side of the bed nice. See to it that it welcomes the presence of someone if they were to walk into your life tomorrow. Creating space is the theme here, and you need to make sure you’ve done just that.
3. Get rid of old memories
This may be hard to hear, but it’s time to throw out those birthday cards from your ex. Without realizing it, owning these keepsakes is preventing you from practicing “out with
the old and in with the new.” When one door closes, another beautiful one opens. But only if and when that door is actually shut!
4. Care for a plant
How can you bring in someone to take care of you if you’re not taking care of anything yourself? Having a plant in your place is an amazing way to Feng Shui. Many plants are known for creating luck in your love life. Some that can symbolize love include roses, anthuriums, philodendrons, and moss balls.
5. Make your list
I saved this one for last because it’s my absolute favorite and my go-to exercise. The energy of the world doesn’t know what to bring you if you don’t write it down. Make a list of your needs versus your wants in a partnership. Be specific and discerning. After you’ve made this list, you can rip it up and “put it out into the world.” I did this exercise and manifested my husband. I swear!
Manifesting isn’t easy, but these tips are a great start. I always say, if you’re looking for someone with specific qualities, make sure you have those qualities, too. Manifestation only works if you’re bringing something to the table as well. Don’t forget, we get back what we put out.

When you want to look and feel your best, there’s no one better than celebrity plastic surgeon Dr. Norman Rowe to make your wish a reality. The master behind Rowe Plastic Surgery and his wife, Mia Rowe, are not only redefining the worlds of beauty and wellness, but they’re also making a major impact on Palm Beach society life—and beyond.
BY SYDNEY SADICK | PHOTOGRAPHY BY AZALEA JEANETTE
“My
dad always says, ‘Do what you love and you will never work a day in your life.’ This is so true.”
—MIA ROWE
You have both lived in New York City for decades. Why did you decide to expand both your personal and professional lives to Palm Beach?
Mia Rowe: As a child, my parents and grandparents split their time between New York and Palm Beach. Both my father and grandfather were plastic surgeons who practiced in both locations, so it felt natural for me to do the same.
Dr. Norman Rowe: While I enjoy my personal time, I’m not one to sit around. I saw a need in Palm Beach for my skills and decided to open an office/operating suite. I’m close with my father-in-law [Dr. Charles Scher] and like spending time with him. What’s the best thing about PB life?
Mia: I love my new and old Palm Beach friends. I appreciate the carefree life here, as well as the growing nightlife. I’m working on my tennis game and learning to play canasta. I never would have done that in NYC!
Norman: PB is the perfect complement to NYC. It allows me to play golf and surf, all in the same afternoon.
Norman, how’s your practice doing here?
Norman: I’m thrilled at how well I’ve been received in Palm Beach. There’s a near twoyear wait list for some procedures! Rowe Plastic Surgery Palm Beach opened last season with a bang. This season we moved into a new bigger space to accommodate the number of patients we’re seeing! What services are you most known for?
Norman: We provide the full spectrum of cosmetic surgery. A lot of women come to me for facial rejuvenation (face, eyelids, and neck), rhinoplasty surgery, breast improvement, and body contouring. We see tons of celebs and influencers in your practice, such as TikTok sensation Alix Earle!
Norman: I’ve had a variety of celebrities and influencers come in for treatments. One of my fondest was working with Alix Earle. She’s a wonderful and kind person, beautiful both inside and out. All patients want maximal results—to look more youthful and refreshed—with minimal downtime. Those two objectives are usually at odds with each other. Patients say they want to look better and younger, but not “overdone.”
Mia, you’re a co-owner in the business. Tell us about your role!
Mia: I help develop long-term and global strategies for Rowe Plastic Surgery. My goal is to bring our unique experience to as many people as possible.
You’ve been married for 20 years! How did you two originally meet?
Norman: I was a resident in training at NYU and Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital when we met. It was at a charity event at The Bitter End in Greenwich Village. I met Mia, and we hit it off. We spent the entire evening talking and dancing. But I never called Mia because I was a bit intimidated by her. So after three weeks of silence, Mia called me! We went out that weekend and a year and a half later we were engaged. I will be forever indebted to Mia for that phone call!
What’s your favorite PB date night spot?
Mia: BiCE followed by a drink at HMF! I love the easygoing vibe and great food at BiCE. Its indoor/outdoor space is amenable to intimate dinners and dancing if you’re inclined. HMF is classic Palm Beach!
Mia, your 41st-birthday party was amazing! What do you love about hosting?
Mia: I’m a people person and I love bringing people together, especially for a party or a great cause. I love hosting in not only Palm Beach, but New York City and the Hamptons. I love my friends, friends I haven’t met yet, and family. What better way to celebrate all three than with a party! You’re the mother of three. How do you balance it all?
Mia: My dad always says, “Do what you love, and you
will never work a day in your life.” This is so true. I love my work and family, and where there’s a will, there’s a way. While my job a lot of times has me “putting out fires” at all hours, I force myself to turn off my phone to have snuggle time with the kids or go to my yoga class.
What do you want people to know about you both?
Norman: We’re good people and very down to earth. We want people to know that we’re giving with our time and resources. What are you guys working on now?
Norman: We’ve been approached to open Rowe Plastic Surgery in Dubai, Dallas, and Los Angeles, so we’re exploring those opportunities to bring our experience to more patients. I’m going to need to clone myself! What’s next for you?
Mia: Besides watching and hopefully guiding my children to grow into people I will be proud of, I’ve started a cosmetic consulting/guidance company to help guide people through the sometimes rocky path to looking and feeling their best. I also want to expand my philanthropic endeavors and help those in need.
Norman: I love what I do and want to expand to help more people. At some point, I want to open an art gallery and help find the next Warhol. I love art and what it represents for people. When I do that is the only question! T

Spotlight magazine teamed up with Grace de Monaco last December to launch its sunglass collection during Miami Art Basel. The brand toasted to the line inspired by iconic characters played by Princess Grace Kelly with an exclusive party at its pop-up shop at the Jennifer Miller boutique at the W Hotel South Beach. Attendees sipped wines courtesy of Wölffer Estate Vineyard while shopping the debut offering. All proceeds from sales of the sunglasses were sent to the Princess Grace Foundation USA, which funds grants for emerging artists in theater, dance, and film.
Spotlight hosted the grand opening of Marina St Barth on Worth Avenue in Palm Beach last December. Attendees were treated to light bites and champagne while shopping Marina St Barth’s vibrant assortment of clothing and accessories. You can visit the store directly across from BiCE Ristorante to shop its Spring collection. There are also locations in Naples, Florida, and in the Hamptons.

You acquired Fivestory in 2020. What were you doing before taking over?
I’ve worked in the fashion industry for more than 40 years as an executive and CEO for many brands. I started my career in menswear, then gravitated toward women’s fashion, licensing, and brand management. What goals did you have for the store when taking over the business?
I took over Fivestory two days before COVID hit and shut down New York City, where the business was originally based. I pivoted and moved Fivestory to the Hamptons and Palm Beach. I’ve always loved women’s fashion and dreamed of opening up a store with luxury labels that I coveted as well as pre-loved items. I wanted to create a luxury store that brought together the best of fashion at affordable prices. How do you describe the Fivestory brand today?
Fivestory is a multibranded luxury boutique that curates
designer and contemporary labels that are sophisticated, chic, and modern for women of all ages. We carry casual clothing, as well as contemporary sportswear and evening gowns. Fivestory also offers a curated selection of pre-loved items.
You have flagship locations in both Palm Beach and Southampton. How do you cater to each clientele?
Fivestory prides itself on having unique offerings. We aim to carry brands that aren’t overdistributed. In Palm Beach, we tend to carry more colorful pieces that are feminine, sophisticated, and chic. This year is actually the first time we’re selling black on the island! How do you work with your clients to dress them for special occasions?
We have an assortment of new, custom, and vintage gowns for customers to try on. If they need a dress within an hour, we have on-the-spot tailors who can make any dress appropriate for any event.

Tell us about your background. My journey began in the diamond trade 25 years ago, fueled by a deep appreciation for the extraordinary beauty of gemstones. Over the years, I have honed my expertise in the rarest fancy-colored diamonds and Colombian emeralds, sourcing and working with these exceptional treasures to create truly unique pieces. When did your company start?
I founded Yair Stern Jewels and Diamonds in 2022 to bring my passion to life. Our brand is dedicated to crafting both custom and ready-made jewelry, combining timeless designs with the unparalleled beauty of these rare gems. Every piece we create is a testament to our commitment to quality, craftsmanship, and individuality. Where do you draw inspiration from?
I’m particularly drawn to the timeless elegance of nature, the vibrancy of art, and the emotional milestones that jewelry represents. Whether it’s
the vivid hues of a sunset or the intricate patterns found in architecture.
You’re based in New York City. How did your jewelry land in Palm Beach?
While our base is in New York City, we have a deep understanding of the distinct tastes and preferences of our Palm Beach clientele. The refined yet relaxed luxury of Palm Beach calls for a style that exudes elegance while remaining timeless and wearable. We tailor our diamonds to this aesthetic by offering pieces that combine opulence with subtle sophistication. How can people find your jewelry online?
Through our Instagram page @yair_stern_diamonds and also on our website, yairstern.com, where we showcase our latest collections and custom designs. While we don’t offer online purchasing, we invite clients to book private appointments— either at our showroom or at the client’s location of choice. T
We know you’ve seen them, and we know you love them. Spotlight followed Sebastian and Razvan Blidariu—aka
The Twins of Palm Beach—around the island for a typical day in their lives. We also learned what they did before coming to America from Romania. BY EMILY
WHITE
You were born and raised in Romania and eventually came to America. How did you land in Palm Beach?
When we like a place, we just move in. We were living in Atlanta and used to come to Palm Beach for fun. When we realized going back and forth every month was a waste of time, we decided to move here. However, our love affair with America started back in 1984 when the Communist regime in Romania allowed the show Dallas on our TV. We told our parents that we were going to do business in America, just like the character J.R. Ewing, and we ended up in the United States for the first time 10 years later. We hear you’re both serial entrepreneurs. Tell us what you do for work.
After 10 years in apparel, we entered the children’s amusement-ride business. Now, we’re developing our Trombi’s Tower concept for vacation hotels and casinos. We love seeing you guys strut around Palm Beach in matching outfits. Why did you decide to start doing this?
After we sold our apparel manufacturing factory, we decided not to spend time worrying about how to dress. Now, we exclusively wear jeans, white or blue classic shirts, cognac shoes, and navy jackets when necessary. You have gotten such an amazing reaction from Palm Beach residents and visitors. How does this make you feel? It feels good. How can you not feel good when people tell you: “There is no PB without The Twins” and “You have become an institution in PB”? However, our favorite interaction was last year when a gentleman pulled up beside us in his Rolls-Royce and said, “I love seeing you together. I haven’t spoken to my sister in years.” Then he started explaining why. We said, “Please stop. If you like us, you’ll call your sister, no matter what she did.” After a few weeks, we saw him again

and he said, “Guys, I called my sister!” He looked so happy. It felt good that we did a great deal just by being ourselves. We also heard that you two live together. Is this true? Yes, we still share the same residence. When we both get married, we will build a duplex house.
What are some of your favorite activities here?
We enjoy the restaurants on the island, especially the Italian ones. We often get invited to private parties, but we accept only a few. We pay attention to the crowd we run with. Is it true that you both drink only water? Why is that?
1 p.m. Strolling down Worth Avenue
People can’t control their future; their habits control the future.
We know you have the same sense of style, so where do you shop in town? Most of our outfits come from Italy. Do you see Palm Beach being your permanent home?
If you ask us now, yes! But you never know. We’ve lived in five countries. Why do you think you’re both single? Sebastian was married once, but we didn’t respect the “coin rule.” Here’s the story: Because we’re twins, we have the same taste in women. We were driving around in our hometown when we saw a beautiful girl. We flipped a coin and decided whoever wins can go after her. I [Razvan] won, but Sebastian said that I was the winner last time. I told him that he could have her. They got married within six months and divorced after another six months. Never cheat the coin! T
