"Mama Mia!" at the Lyceum Theatre

Fairmount Park

Travel with us to the Arrow Rock Lyceum Theatre for this ultimate feel-good show! A mother. A daughter. Three possible dads. And a trip down the aisle you'll never forget! On the eve of her wedding, a daughter's quest to discover the identity of her father brings three men from her mother's past back to the Greek island paradise they last visited 20 years ago. A "Peachy" Day in Calhoun County

It's Peach Day in Calhoun County! You may have heard of, or maybe you've even tasted, a Calhoun peach. If you've never tried one, you're in for a treat! See why the hills along the Illinois and Mississippi Rivers create the perfect conditions for the best locally grown peaches. Join us for all things peach - fresh fruit, jams, frozen drinks, cobblers and delicious peach ice cream. Our day will include a visit to one of the many family owned and operated orchards for a behind the scenes look at the planting and care of peach trees. We'll learn about the different varieties of peach trees and what it takes to grow these famous peaches as well as visit a packing shed for an up-close look at how the peaches are sorted and packed to send to market. Along the way you'll visit a roadside market where you will have an opportunity to purchase some peaches, as well as other fresh produce to take home with you. Based on the seminal 1980 hit movie, this hilarious musical romp that explores friendship and revenge in the Rolodex era is outrageous, romantic, and even a little bit thought provoking in its heroines' desire to break the glass ceiling. Chock-full of upbeat and optimistic songs by country superstar Dolly Parton and featuring the toe-tapping title tune, 9 to 5, three female coworkers concoct a plan to live out their wildest fantasies by giving their egotistical, lying, hypocritical boss the boot! In the process, the women give their workplace a dream makeover and take control of the company that had always kept them down. A bright and brand new musical bon-bon for STAGES audiences and a celebration for anyone who has ever struggled with any kind of authority figure, you will laugh, cry and ultimately cheer the exploits of Violet, Judy and Doralee as they discover the joys of working 9 to 5! Solar Eclipse Viewing in Ste. Genevieve

Ste. Genevieve is located on the 'Center Line' of the 2017 total solar eclipse that is being called the 'eclipse of a generation' and we're traveling there to witness it firsthand. It is a scene of unimaginable beauty; the Moon completely blocks the Sun, daytime becomes a deep twilight and the Sun's corona shimmers in the darkened sky. There will be art work displays, telescopes for viewing, music and food trucks at this viewing event. The eclipse will take place from 11:30A-2:30P with the maximum totality occurring shortly after 1:15P in Ste. Genevieve's region. Cost includes transportation and solar viewing glasses. A box lunch will be provided. Travelers will need to

bring with them their own bag style, collapsible chair.

Cool Cow Cheese & Rockin' W Alpaca Ranch

Join us for a "Gouda" time in Owensville, MO! We will begin our day with a tour of Martha & Tom's Farm where Cool Cow Cheese is made. This family-owned and operated creamery produces a variety of cheese from their friendly herd of Jersey cows that are raised on their farm. Not only do they make five varieties of Gouda cheese they also produce Edam, Camembert, Havarti and Queso Blanco. We'll learn about their cheese making process, taste samples and shop in their farm store. Next, enjoy a delicious home cooked lunch at Kline's Restaurant before making our way to the Rockin' W Alpaca Ranch, home to over 100 alpacas. Get an up-close look as we tour their ranch and learn all about their herd and their fleece as well as have the opportunity to purchase an item made out of alpaca wool from their store. As we head back home, we'll have time for one last quick stop to the Swiss Meat & Sausage Company for some shopping. Cost of this trip includes transportation, tours and lunch.

**Vintage Planes, Motorcycles & Photos

Travel back in time with us as we visit three different museums all showcasing their own historic treasures. We will begin our day at the Historic Aircraft Restoration Museum in Maryland Heights, MO for a close-up look at planes from the "Golden Age of Flight." This museum is home to one of the largest collections of flying antique, classic and sport aircraft in the country. It features an original "Cub," the "Timm Collegiate" flown by Charles Lindbergh and the first Curtiss Air Sedan, which was produced here in St. Louis. After this guided tour we will stop for lunch at the Triumph Grill before making our way to the Moto Museum in St. Louis. Here we'll get an up-close look at this impressive private collection of rare and vintage motorcycles that date from 1900 to 1975. Our last stop of the day will be to the International Photography Hall of Fame and Museum for a guided tour of a photo exhibit and vintage camera collection of over 5,000 cameras and artifacts. Cost includes transportation, museum admissions, tours and lunch.

Visit a local orchard to learn about the varieties of apples that are grown in the area and how apple trees are cared for and maintained. We'll also stop by a nearby orchard where the owner will share with us how the apples are used to make wine and hard cider and enjoy a tasty sample. Lunch will follow at Mel's Riverdock Diner, can you guess what's for dessert? After lunch discover which apples make the best cider and watch a live demonstration of fresh cider being made. For our last stop of the day get an up-close look at how apple butter is made, as a local family will show their process of peeling, cooking and canning. "South Pacific" at STAGES St. Louis

**"The Spitfire Grill" Musical & Hendel's Market CafĂŠ

We will begin our evening with a fantastic dinner at Hendel's Market CafĂŠ before making our way to Florissant Civic Center for the musical production of The Spitfire Grill. Percy Talbot is trying to find a place for a fresh start and travels to the small town of Gilead, Wisconsin. The local sheriff, Joe Sutter, who is also Percy's parole officer, finds her a job at the only eatery in this struggling town. The Spitfire Grill has been for sale for the last 10 years. Percy suggests the gruff owner, Hannah, try raffling it off. The entry fee is one hundred dollars and an essay on why you want to purchase the grill. Soon, mail is arriving by the wheelbarrow. This musical triumph is an inspiring celebration of new beginning and the power of what one person can do. Cost includes transportation, dinner and show.

Christmas at the Mansions

St. Louis is home to some impressive historic mansions and we are going to take a tour of two of them while they are decorated with festive Christmas settings! Our first visit will be to the Campbell House Museum. This house was originally built back in 1851 and was home to fur trader and entrepreneur, Robert Campbell and his family. Some of the original furniture, fixtures, paintings and more from its era are still in this house. Following this tour will be an Italian dinner at Zia's on MAGIC CHEF MANSION The Hill. Our last visit of the day will be to the Magic Chef Mansion that was constructed in 1908. This 12,000 square foot mansion was home to Charles Stockstorm, the founder of Quick Meal and Magic Stove Company, the largest stove manufacturer in the world at the time! Cost includes transportation, dinner and tours.

Tai Chi Fitness This program is designed to be a safe and effective exercise program for a wide range of ages and conditions including arthritis. It uses the Sun Style of Tai Chi with its Qigong exercise to benefit balance, flexibility, mobility, coordination, management of arthritis and health in general. Tai Chi for Arthritis is promoted by the Arthritis Foundation as an effective program for managing arthritis. 6 Week Session: Mondays AND Wednesdays Total of 12 classes per session! Location: Webster Park Community Building *Bring your own water bottle.

Adult Painting: Canvas Creation Join us for this one-day painting class! This class is designed for you to get creative and have some fun with your friends. Participants will take home their self-made painting. No prior experience necessary. Fee: $40 per artist Light snacks as well as soda and water will be provided. Participants are welcome to bring their own beverages to class. All patterns are Social Artworking designs.

EXTENDED TRIPS: DEPOSITS:

Extended Trips: $50 non refundable deposit must be received at registration.

CANCELLATIONS:

Extended Trips: Cancellation policy will vary with each extended trip depending on the vendors and timelines involved with that particular trip. Check each individual extended trip for the cancellation policy in force for that particular trip.

PICK UP POINT:

Pick up point for all day trips and extended trips will be at the Memorial Hall Parking Lot in Blanchette Park unless otherwise stated.

**PARKS PASSPORT CARD:

Receive a $5 discount for select trips (two stars signifies the trips with discounts) with this card. Available for St. Charles CITY Residents. For more information call our Administration Office.

SCHOLARSHIPS:

The St. Charles Parks & Recreation Foundation provides funds to either children or adult CITY RESIDENTS who cannot financially afford a recreation program or trip participation fee. One scholarship amount per family per brochure is granted. For more information call our Administration Office.

ONE DAY TRIPS & BINGO: DEPOSITS:

One-Day Trips & Bingos: $10 non refundable deposit must be received at registration.

CANCELLATIONS:

One-Day Trips & Bingos: Participants cancelling a one day trip less than 14 days prior to the trip will not receive a refund. Participants cancelling more than 14 days prior to the trip will receive a refund minus a $10 administration fee.
