We wo n't forget you , We know Vye won 'tFor we ' ve shared many happy and hard times together. And whether or not We ever see you again , At least we know That we have a friend.
The class of 1977 would like to dedicate the SHIELD to a person who is a true friend. His concern and respect for the St. Martin ' s comm unity will long be remembered by all of us.
We salute you, and we wish you well as you leave us and move on to the ill, challenge ahead. But you will always remain a part of St. Martin's, both for all you have been while students here, and for all that you will be as alumni in the years ahead.
A school is, in essence, a community of people, people who interact, who give to each other and who receive rrom each other. You have given and received, and you have left your mark inelibly on the history of this, your school. You will always be St. Martin's men and women and those of us at the schoo I wi II retain a special pride in you, the Class of 1977.
We have worked to the end that you may take i nto the world a Christian concern for yo'ur fellow men, a love of learning, a desire to give your best, an appreciation for the beauty of God's creation, an enthusiasm for athletics, and a better understanding of yourselves. Be worthy of your heritage and share broadly of your selves that you may give unto others the strength you have received.
Be gentle people as you leave us, gentle to al I you meet, gentle with yourselves, gentle with God's world. We believe you leave us as ladies and gentlemen, and our faith is in you and all you will contribute.
Come back often so that we may know of al I you are doing and increase our pride in al I you are and wi II be.
