racious God, we pray co you for the mission and ministry of St. Martins School. Grant that the members of our community, seeing the image of God in one another, may be guided in the ways of wisdom. May we pursue excellence, unite ourselves in bonds of love and be strengthened in patience, compassion and persistence.

Increase. 0 Lord, our intellectual curiosity and zeal for learning. Give us the will and strength to do our best.

May we never shrink from chat which is difficult, and may we never fail co see an aura of wonder in everything on earth.

Most of all, dear Lord, surround us with your presence, so that all in the St. Martin's community will feel loved and secure. Amen.

A Father For All Seasons

Father Sprague in his tenure became a central character in the heart and spirit of the school. His infectious attitude extended far beyond his colorful chapel services and religion classes but engulfed the students and teachers. In the last few years he became the coach of the bowling team in its infancy and instilled his love and caring fun into is very foundation.

His greatest personal achievements included the transformation of the religion classes into a functioning academic subject. Another of his noted efforts was to transform the school's chapel services into a forum.

Father Sprague wishes to thank everyone for the friends, memories, and for readily adopting him into the commumty.

36 Years of Family

In The Past 36 years Mrs. Trevino has coached all the girl's sports at St. Martin's, excluding Cross Country and Tennis. In fact she was the first Girl's Softball and Track coach (separate from the boy's team). She has even had two tenures as lead girl's soccer coach. In recent years she is most noted for coaching the highly successful StM Volleyball team. Over the years she has also remarked that as the administration has changed as often as her coaching positions, the school and family have remained the same. Mrs. Trevino loves her involvement in the StM Family and notes that she feels that it is an invaluable connection. To substantiate this point her daughter belongs to the 14-Year Club and her husband has taught MS Science, MS Social Studies, Physical Education. He has also acted as Athletic Director and director of Maintenance.

In all her activities Mrs. Trevino will always be remembered as a great friend and mentor.

FAITH SCHOLARSHIP SERVIC

There's something funny about that old school slogan , isn't there? Those three words, the banner around which St. Martin's rallies, illuminate its mission and purpose.

"Faith" refers not to the rev ivalist's brand of thump -on-the-Bib le, but the strong, humb le, thoughtful variety that even those who dissent can respect for its quiet power and wisdom.

Scholarship, what ought to be the vanguard of any academic institution, is more than j ust data ga ined from books. Scholarship is the curiosity and vitality to play, to question, to think. It is the sou l of all the arts and sciences, of abstraction and beauty; music, poetry, and philosophy all call it parent. And Service is the Aristotle to Scholarship's Plato. It is curiosity

willing to get its hands dirty, vitality gleefully descending back into the J cave to impart to others the wonders it has seen Matters in the cave, it says, are mutable for the better. Faith, Scholarship, Service. Of th is power triad is StM made.

From dressing up in costumes to pieing the senior football players , St. Martin's students get energized for the big Homecoming Football Game against the Hanson Tigers.

With the stands at Tony Porter Field packed Tigers to a close with Saints' faithful game. Trailing by electrified for the only eight in the game, the Saints fourth quarter, the battled the Hanson Saints fell just short

THE PARTY NEVER ENDS

The homecoming dance was off to a great start on Saturday, October 2. The freshman arrived on their buses, followed by upper classmen who got the party started. Anticipating the announcing of the queen, everyone rushed to the theatre at 10 p.m. to see Brooke Conroy crowned. After the ceremony, it was back to dancing until the clock struck at midnight.

Habitat For Hmmamiliy

Forthe past 5 years St. Martin's has played an integral part in Habitat for Humanity Six other schools are involved in this worthwhile project including; Country Day, Sacred Heart, Stuart Hall, McGehee, St. George's, and Trinity The schools help raise money to fund the house. To raise money for the project, the Student Council sells Habitat T-shirts which are made by one of the students from the schools involved. Also every year the Freshman, Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors compete in a penny drive to raise money for Habit for Humanity. The Habitat build is a great way for the whole StM community to come together for a worthwhile cause.

They felt that the senior retreat was "a time to get to know one another and realize that we are closer than we really think we are ."

Zoolander: Venkat Subramaniam and Spencer Wool dance to Michael Jackson's "Beat It" while stirring the crowd up for Senior Weird Day They were described as two of the funniest acts of the performance.

Ring Day is a long standing tradition which allows the seniors to pass down their class ring to the junior class. It is a way for them to pass on their knowledge and position as seniors as well.

The year started out well with the team blowing out Ecole with a standout 80 yard pass reception by C h a s Richard.Then to get past the Falcons, there was a three touchdown performance by Chris Sapor ito (all thrown by Ryan Becnel). The outlook for the game against Episcopal was good but Hurricane Ivan forced us to cancel the game. The team then went on a six game skid losing games to Country Day, West St. John, Riverside, Fisher, Hanson, and Buras. In

Wetter is Better

The 2004-2005 swim team this year had a promising shot at being State Champions. Losing no swimmers from the previous season, the Saints swept the competition, winning every meet during the season and securing a first place finish in the District Meet held at the St. Martin's Thanksgiving Pool. The team had the leadership of four seniors on the boy's team and five seniors on the girl's team.

At the State meet, the boys and girls teams faced stiff competition at the pool at UNO. The boy's team was favored to win over EpiscopalBaton Rouge and the girls were the underdogs to University High of

Baton Rouge. Both teams secured Runner-Up finishes and had many swimmers winning All - District and AllState recognition.

Next year's team will be a relatively young one and will have the leadership of six male Seniors ('06) and one girl. Other school's will be losing many seniors as well, giving next year's team a good shot at having a repeat of the 2004 season.

Both teams worked extremely hard for the places they earned, giving the team much to be proud of and the incentive to do better for the next season.

Rain or Shine

This year St. Martin's cheerleaders cheered the teams on no matter what the weather conditions were. The girls were present at all of the volleyball and football games. During Homecoming week the cheerleaders took one for the team and kept the tradition alive allowing the football players to pie them if they guessed who their secret cheerer was.

With enormous pride , love , and wonder we have watched as you entered St. Martin's as a beautiful but dependent member of the prekindergarten class in 1990 and now as you leave St. Martin's as a beautiful , independent, intelligent, and dignified young woman and member of the graduating class of 2005 You worked hard , played hard , and learned enduring lessons on the field , on the stage , and in the classroom. In the fourteen years at St. Martin's you have emotionally , spiritually, and intellectually developed in many ways. Each bit of wisdom and experience has added another bright facet to your bright and wonderful life .

I clearly remember the day, when you were very young , you looked up while sitting on my lap and said , "Dad , your family is your best friend." Hillary, you should know that you are also a best friend to your family. You should know how much we love you, because we have always intentionally demonstrated our love in many different ways. Yes , even your sisters love you dearly. What may not be so obvious is how much we respect and admire you You have added so much to our life and to the Gibbs family. Each ofus is better because Hillary Gibbs is in our family. We are most proud of the person you have become and are becoming. We are honored to have collaborated with God , the great teachers and coaches of St. Martin's , and many others to make the masterpiece we call Hillary Gibbs. We are comforted by the wann rays of your sunshine We are proud to call you our daughter and sister.

We traveled together with several very talented club volleyball teams; and the "Gibbles' serve" was a " killer" known throughout the south With dedication, competency , and enthusiasm you represented St. Martin ' s on the varsity softball team and junior varsity volleyball team. You were always a team player and , regardless of the circumstances, consistently cheered for your fellow teammates and always brought honor and glory to your team and to your school.

I have been consistently amazed and always filled with pride by the confidence , ease, and heart you have demonstrated on the St. Martin's theatrical stage. I will always remember your senior year performances in "Grease" and "The Man Who Came to Dinner." On many more than one occasion I shed a silent tear of pride and joy while watching my special girl perform on stage. You have a very strong talent for the stage, and I hope you will continue to develop that gift

You have always been filled with love and enthusiasm for life , and have never been shy about sharing your thoughts and feelings with others. Throughout all of your athletic, theatrical, and social endeavors you have always conducted yourself with nobility and grace and manifested courage , understanding , and an aura of dignity for which we are so proud.

Before you depart for Auburn University, let me offer some last minute advise First of all , study and work hard to be the best that you can be. There is no more worthy goal. Secondly, choose a boyfriend and most importantly a husband that is as maintenance free , stable and dignified as you (that will not be easy to find). A handsome face and six-pack will surely diminish with time , but the benefits and beauty of a stable philosophy and internal strength will increase with time. You will undoubtedly be a considerable asset to your future family and you will bring joy, serenity, and stability to your home and to your children.
