EPISCOPAL SCHOOL

For "twice as long as 14 years," Mrs. Godchaux has been an irreplaceable member of the St. Martin's community. Every student in middle school knows her, whether through history class or by being lucky enough to have her as an 8th grade advisor. Everyone she taught undoubtedly remembers the mini Olympics on the Van Slate lawn, her great advisory meetings, her ever prevalent sense of humor, and enthusiasm for teaching. She has always been very connected to every class, and never fails to remember things like how much a certain student would talk and how other students were locked in academic battle.

Mrs. Godchaux says this school is her home, and there is no student that would disagree. Her influence, however, will be far from lost. Her children began the Godchaux legacy as StM students before she was a teacher. She then began teaching and making Middle School the best it could possibly be. She now wants to pass the torch to one of her former advisees. Ms. Godchaux taught us the skills we needed for high school, but our memories with her and the lessons we learned will be with us forever. We wish her well and truly appreciate all she has given us.

We have cherished Mr. Nolan's presence at St. Martin's for 13 years. He can greet everyone by name, and he never fails to say hello with a big smile on his face. Even the very mention of his name makes people smile. We see him every day, and he is missed when he is not at school. Breakfast at StM is almost not worth it when he is not there with his indisputably fantastic grits and his warm heart to tell us "good morning, baby." When he suffered a heart attack this year, each and every student felt his pain. We had grown so fond of seeing him every day, and then he was not there. We prayed for him, sent him get well soon cards, did all we could do to get him well again. When Mr. Nolan finally returned to school, everyone breathed a sigh of relief knowing he was good and healthy again.

Mr. Nolan has made his way into all of our hearts, Mrs. Godchaux's 2008 Baccalaureate speech, and even the cover of the 2008 senior magazine. We will never forget his kindness, and we wish him a great future at St. Martin's.

This season was a very special season for the football team. It was the first time the Saints made to the playoffs in the last 6 years. Quarterback, Kyle Ridley,broke numerous passing records including most career passing yards with 5,690 yards The StM football team also broke a state record with longest touchdown pass in a game.
