HOTTY

Darran Lue Che Kong 21, Port of Spain Three things you like about yourself and why? I like my personality, because I feel that I can socialise with anyone and they become comfortable with me. I know what I want to achieve and I am never afraid to do the work that is required to get it done. The third thing I like is my body. I enjoy working on it and I am motivated to work harder because of the results I get. Your OMG moment When I was younger I enjoyed driving really recklessly and I even liked to drift the car; that is like turn real hard and let the car skid on the wheels. One day I had my little brother and cousin in the car and I was driving hard and lost control of the car. It was heading into a wall, I let go the steering because I knew I could not stop the accident from happening. I shielded my brother and cousin with my body and the car slammed into the wall. The car was totalled and thank God we all walked away from the wreck unhurt. I just got some cuts and bruises. I am glad to say that I learned my lesson and I am no longer a reckless driver.

I ran over a dog and kept going I can’t stop thinking about it. I hit it. He ran out from the lawn and I couldn’t stop in time. He was a little white dog. I freaked out! I didn’t know what to do and I couldn’t get out and face it so I hit the gas. I saw him running back to the house in my rear view mirror. I can’t stop thinking about it. He looked so happy just running around and now I wonder whether he’s alive or dead. I want to apologise to his owners but I can’t get the courage to go back there.

I wish I could just

cry

I cannot remember the last time I really cried. Sure my eyes get a little watery sometimes while watching a movie. Hell, I found out my best friend died and didn’t shed a tear until I flew out and went to the memorial before the funeral. Even then it was just a little droplet sliding down. I sit here at night and think about my life and the memory of times that affected me emotionally. I sit here and think of all the sadness and as my eyes begin to water, just as I think tonight is the night I’ll let it all out, nothing...

I’m starting to think people see me as a liability because I’m disabled.

My boyfriend never satisfies me in bed... We’ve been together for over a year. He’s only made me orgasm probably once... He orgasms too fast and doesn’t care much about my needs. He’s really embarrassed and ashamed of himself so sex is a touchy subject. Anytime he comes too fast the next word out of his mouth is “sorry”. He’s already got his issues with coming too fast. I’m too afraid to tell him that I never feel satisfied after we have sex. I always feel like I need to take care of it myself… which I end up doing when I’m alone. It’s driving me crazy.

I just want a normal hug For as long as I can remember I haven’t been able to stand any real physical contact. I jump at the slightest touch. If people stand too close I start panicking and forget how to breathe. All of my friends and co-workers know not to get too close to me. I can only tolerate hugs if I’m the one that makes the first move. Sometimes I even scream or slap people when they try to touch me. I hate that I react this way. I just wish I was normal. I just wish somebody could give me a hug and not have me act like they’re trying to hurt me. All I want is just one hug.

Employers see me as a risk. Girls think I’m paralysed from the waist down and would be scared to date me. I handle it well 98 per cent of the time but it hit me recently and I was just like “F…, this sucks.” :(

My friend is boring the hell out of me with her relationship problems Every week or so she whines on for at least an hour about the latest drama in her relationship. Every week I tell her pretty much the same thing: if you’re not happy why are you still doing it? She agrees, then two days later “it’s all fixed”, only to chew my ear a few days later. I do care but now it’s getting tiresome and her open-ended rambles on Facebook always leave it so I have to continue the conversation...

Ending a Bad Date

If your date turns out to be everything you never wanted and more, follow these tips to end your outing effectively and tactfully.

STEP 1 Have a policy

Have a dating policy. Meeting for a weekday lunch will provide a limited time frame and a safe, public location.

STEP 2 Be graceful

Keep up your end of the conversation, even if sparks aren’t flying.

Tip -You might actually make a friend of your bad date if you let go of any romantic expectations. STEP 3 Remain tactful

Remain tactful. Express disappointment without negativity. Say, “I’m having a good time but I was hoping we’d have more chemistry”. If your date seems nervous and awkward, tell them you’re feeling the same way and suggest ending the date.

Tell Someone How You Feel Whether you want to mend a relationship, end a relationship, or to tell someone how much you love them, express yourself and tell someone how you feel STEP 1 Organize your thoughts

Organize your thoughts in your head before telling someone how you feel.

STEP 2 Make time

Set aside time to meet with the person you want to talk to.

Tip - Pick an environment without distractions. STEP 3 Be confident

Be confident and go for it. Speak your

mind and express issues that are important to you. Speak calmly, and stick to the points you want to get across. Don’t distract from your message by veering off-topic.

STEP 4 Be honest

Keep eye contact with that person and be honest with how you’re feeling.

STEP 5 Be empathetic

Empathise with the person you are talking to by giving them the chance to respond. Avoid interrupting them.

STEP 6 Resolve issues

Once you’ve spoken up try to resolve any lingering issues on both sides, and feel good about expressing your feelings.

STEP 4 Be honest

At the end of a bad date be frank and say why you don’t want to go out again. For instance, “You’re nice but we don’t have a lot in common”. Or, “You have interesting things to say but the conversation was more one-sided than I like”.

Tip - Take advantage of a lull in the conversation to end the date. Say that it seems you don’t have much to say to one another, thank them, and leave.
STEP 5 Get up and leave

Get up and leave if a date is touchy-feely, rude, abusive, or drunk.

HOW

TO’S

Get a Date with

Absolutely

Anyone No one is out of your league if you know how to woo them. STEP 1- Dress nicely

Wear nice clothes, but don’t overdo it. Being overdressed or too sexy makes you seem desperate, which is always a turn-off.

STEP 2 - Smile

How to Extricate Your Arm from a Post-Coital Cuddle In the wild a wolf will gnaw its own leg off to escape a trap. This is not the wild and you are not a wolf. Get your arm back the human way. STEP 1 Don’t get your arm caught

Avoid getting your arm caught in the first place. While basking in the afterglow, lie on your back and encourage your partner to rest their head on your chest. This way you can snuggle all you want without cutting off the circulation to your arm.

STEP 2 Spoon intelligently

If spooning is the order of the evening, position your lower arm strategically. Place the pillows a few inches away from the headboard. Put your lower arm under their pillow at an angle in line with your upper body, so you can spoon without trapping your arm under their head or neck.

STEP 3 The shoulder roll

Try another method: position your lower arm behind you and place your upper arm on the waist of your partner.

Tip -Be careful not to crush, smother, or push your partner out of bed.

Smile at the person who’s caught your eye—but do it the right way. For women, that means smiling while eyeing his body appreciatively. For men, it means holding her gaze.

STEP 3 - Approach with a good opening

STEP 4 - Worst-case snuggling scenario

Approach the person and say “hi”. Then deliver an opening line that includes both a “we” statement and a personal question that involves the person’s feelings, such as, “If the band is as good as I’ve heard, we’re in for a great night. Are you into rockabilly?”

Tip - If they get restless, snuggle for few minutes, but make sure not to trap your arm a second time.

Tip – Note to men: stay away from sexual innuendo—a big turnoff to women—and go with gallantry, like rescuing a woman from the guy who’s serving up the smut.

If your beloved fell asleep before you could reclaim your arm, hug them to you and gently roll with them in the direction of their side of the bed. When they’re comfortably repositioned on their stomach, withdraw your arm.

STEP 5 Get some rest

Get some sleep. Now that you’ve got all your limbs accounted for and your partner is sleeping contentedly, time for some hard-earned shut-eye.

STEP 4 - Learn names

Memorise the person’s name and use it. People find it flattering, and transfer those good feelings to you.

Tip – Note to women: tell him he has beautiful eyes. One survey found this is

more successful in scoring a guy’s interest than offering to buy him a beer.
STEP 5 - Ask off- beat questions

Ask quirky questions. A study of speed daters found that the woman picked for a date by every man was not the prettiest; she was the one who asked, “Wha’s your favorite pizza topping?”

Tip – People who share an exhilarating and/or scary experience—like, say, a mechanical bull at a bar—bond quickly, because they confuse their feelings of excitement with attraction to their partner.
STEP 6 - Talk about agreeable things

Steer the conversation to agreeable topics. Yelling about nuclear disarmament or which God is the real God is best left for after the third date.

STEP 7 - Offer to buy dinner

Seal the deal by asking the person to dinner. Not drinks, which makes you seem uncommitted. Not coffee, which makes you seem cheap. Actual dinner.

This week the team OMG sat down with entertainer extraordinaire Nikki Crosby. Nicky is one of Trinidad and Tobago’s most beloved entertainers, comedians, radio hosts and actresses. After all these years in the entertainment business and doing so many different projects, how does Nikki Crosby feel today? I feel great. I’m in my 40s now, it took me a little while before I could say that comfortably. Yes, early 40s. I’m not admitting to anything more than early 40s. You know, I feel so much more confident now. I feel like I can do anything. I guess maybe that is why I went back to school at this stage in my life. I am in my third year of psychology at COSTATT. A lot of people don’t know that. It however takes a lot out of me. I must say thankfully I have a good supportive husband, because I would not have been able to do work and school full-time without his help. At nights when my boy should be getting loving up, I doing homework and not the other kind of homework, the homework with meh books. I still have so many more plans to get into, so many more things to do. One of the projects I am really excited about is Nikkiland Nurseries. I want to take care of people children from zero to five years old. It is actually why I went back to school, so that is something I plan for my future, close future hopefully. Of course I want to continue producing plays and my exciting job that I doing now with CSS, the Caribbean Super Station 92.3FM.

Tell me more about CSS? Well it’s a brand new station in Trinidad at 92.3FM. However we have been up the islands from Barbados to the Virgin Islands for some two years now. I do a six to 10 Morning Show with Jus Jase. We only came into the Trini market last year. It’s been a whole different level of radio for me because we are now addressing such a wide audience and we have to be very current with what is going on in all the islands to be relevant, so it has been challenging but very rewarding. I enjoy every minute of it. I want to encourage people to take a listen. I think OMG readers can just click somewhere on this page and they will go to our radio station. How great is that. People ask me, ‘Nikki how do you do that, how do you deal with all the issues from all the different islands?’ Well I have a segment called Hot Topics every day and surprisingly the majority of the time the Hot Topic is Trinidad. When you look at those other islands, those idyllic islands, they don’t have as much bacchanal, confusion and drama. If yuh looking for two islands in the Caribbean that have drama daily it’s Trinidad and Jamaica, we leading. How are you keeping up with all your commitments? By the grace of God. I swear it must be by the grace of God. Sometimes I look at my schedule and can’t believe it. We opening a play, we have rehearsal, ah have an exam to prepare for today, photo shoot so and it just keeps coming. But I think I am getting better at spreading my time and balancing my time. It took me a long time to get here, because sometimes I would put the husband on the back burner too but now I think I am getting better at balancing

home, work, school, travelling, and everything else. When I tell people I can’t deal with them for the next two weeks, people may think I am avoiding them, but it is just that I wear so many hats and it can get crazy, but I am learning to plan better. How is married life Nikki? I just celebrated my ten-year anniversary. I think I have been blessed with a supportive partner, someone who is not threatened by me. He is older than me and I think that maturity helps me to grow too. He is a teacher. He teaches me about life and things I might not be aware of. Marriage for me has been very easy. I guess when you meet the right one it becomes easy. My husband was in the US Navy and got injured while he was there, so Uncle Sam is taking care of him. When he came back to Trinidad he wanted to get into different types of businesses. I however encouraged him to give up that and come work with me and be my partner and let’s do this together. He wasn’t sure how people would see him, just working with his wife, but he now sees the Nikki Crosby brand as a business and we are working on it as such together. It’s great to have a husband who is understanding, secure and who respects you. Not once in all the years we know each other, which is about 13 years, has he made me feel insecure, like he watching other woman and things like that, so I am very grateful. The respect and trust is there and of course the love is there. I see myself in my old age with him, one of us is going to bury the other. What about children? Is that important to you? One thing people always ask me about is children. They say ‘you love children so much, you work with them’. Well, I can’t have children. I have something called endometriosis. It is a female health disorder that occurs when cells from the lining of the womb (uterus) grow in other areas of the body. This can lead to pain, irregular bleeding, and infertility. Even with that my husband was so supportive. Every month my menstrual cramps are excruciating. The pain I go through every month is unbearable, but you still have to stand on stage, smile and make people laugh. Jerry is always there, that kind of support I am talking about. When yuh sick yuh know somebody have yuh back and he is always encouraging. So marriage for me has been a beautiful experience and I thank God because I know how bad it can be. I do miss having kids, but I feel Nikkiland Nurseries can help fill that void in my life. Mairoon Ali always used to tell me, ‘blessed is the womb that has no fruit (laughs)’, because she felt that people like Oprah have so much of God’s work to do and maybe that is a reason God did not bless them with kids. When I tell people it’s God’s will that I have no babies, people scream ‘No!! don’t say that!!!’ I honestly have accepted it. It took me a while, Stephen, to accept I will not have children, but I have accepted this is God’s work I am doing, because I really feel so. I honestly feel the gift and talent of making people laugh is God’s special gift to me. It is one of the hardest things to do, to make a Trini audience really do a full belly laugh at your joke. Yuh have to be good, because the Trini audience not easy to please. I have had two people come to me and say I literally saved their life by bringing laughter to their day. One was in

interview | Stephen Doobal

Canada who was totally burnt and he was on his death-bed. His family in Trinidad used to tape “Nikki on the Promenade” and send to him. Two years later he came on the Promenade when we were live and told me he thought he was going to die but that laughter kept him sane through the pain and he made it. Another incident was when I was walking through Gulf City and this Indian woman walked up to me and grabbed me, hugged me and started to cry. She said that she was in an accident and damaged her back really badly and she was in pain for months. In bed she said just watching me every morning made her laugh and that is what kept her going and she always wanted to find me and thank me. So I know that comedy is serious business. I know I am doing God’s work and I really do take it seriously and it is going to be a part of me till the day I die. I want to relieve some of the stress we go through in this country, because I think if we did not have comedy and Trinbagonians weren’t so able to laugh at themselves we would have exploded a long time ago, because I think we are a very frustrated country, a very tense country right now and I think laughter is the way to go. So what’s next? Well we are getting ready for our new play, Fantastic Foursome, that’s opening this Friday and next week we going to San Fernando. People have also been asking when ‘Granny’ coming back, so hopefully for Mother’s Day I will have an all new edition of Hot Mouth Granny. The biggest lesson you’ve learnt? Ah! That has to be from my grandfather, Mr Cecil Crosby, who is 95 this year and going strong. He told me very early in life and I have always lived my life around it. It’s the most famous cliché – “All yuh have is yuh name”, and I live my life by it Stephen. “All yuh have is yuh name.” He talks about it all the time. He says your name is so important, it’s your identity, it’s your family’s identity and when you leave this earth, it is all you have to take with you. And this is so true and it is how I live my life. Your OMG moment? When I almost drowned! That is my OMG moment. We were in Blanchisseuse and as I said meh husband is a swimmer, he was in the Navy. I was standing in knee high water and Cherise Parson’s daughter Ray says, ‘Aunty Nikki look ah jelly fish’, so I just back up a few steps and a strong current just held on to me and start pulling me. Jerry is there saying, ‘Nikki why you going out in the deep’ and I am saying to him I am trying to walk, but I can’t get out. So he came after me to try and get me and we were both swept out to sea in a matter of seconds. Cherise and they looking on from the house saying ‘but Nikki going out very far today!’ Not realising that we were in serious difficulties. It took four guys from the village to come rescue me and then they went back in for Jerry. When I came out of that water my body went into shock. I was bleeding like if I had my period. It was my OMG moment. However from that moment Jerry and I decided to get married. No one asked the other to marry. We just both knew that we belonged together.

Afiya Alexis 21, San Fernando Afiya is a seasoned netball player and we caught up with her just after a game at the Eastern Regional Indoor Sport Arena in Tacarigua. Afiya’s aunt, Myrtle Duncan, introduced her to netball in her backyard when she was very young. She fell in love with the game immediately and wanted to learn more and get better at it. Afiya says her love for the game has never waned. She feels passionate about it and is constantly trying to improve. Afiya is currently training with the National Under 21 Netball Team who will be travelling to Scotland in August to play in the World Youth Netball Championships. She is confident that she will make the team because she works hard. Over the years she has had many successes including winning several trophies (one of which was for Best Player) and medals and is considered the most outstanding playing in most of the games she plays. Afiya says she has fans who come out to see her play every time. Afiya considers herself a very disciplined and committed player and although she loves netball and would love to make a living playing it, she knows that is very hard to do in Trinidad and Tobago. She sees a future filled with playing netball but she knows she will also have to get a job so she can support herself financially. Afiya says she is an aggressive player on the field but with her friends, she is really fun to be around. She dislikes lazy people and likes being around people who are committed and serious about what they have to do and people who always give 100 percent of themselves. Afiya’s OMG moment happened when she was selected for the National Netball Team. “It is a process where you go to tryouts and players are selected based on those tryouts. I went, did my best but they don’t tell you anything about how you did. You just do the tryout and leave. A couple days later I got the call. I was in shock. I could not believe it that I after playing all these years I made the Trinidad and Tobago National Netball Team. It was a great day for me. I finally felt that I earned my position because I was good and would be an asset to the team. It was my life’s dream and I made it happen.”

GALA OPENING AT NAPA SOUTH FRIDAY 1st AND SATURDAY 2nd MARCH

This one going to fog up the place!!!!! “Bailout” is directed by experienced director Richard Ragoobarsingh. After playing the hilarious role of Brian Reynolds in the hit play “Eat Ah Food” Ragoobarsingh now takes on an even funnier and more exhilarating role as Julian Fifi, a no-nonsense private investigator. (You have to see him.) Debra Boucaud Mason (who recently had audiences in stitches of laughter with her portrayal of Gertrude James, a half-blind, half-deaf nosy maid in the company’s

presentation of “Eat Ah Food”) will now take on the outrageous role as Bernice Jenkins, a spiritual adviser, alongside Glenn Davis as Clarence Dudley, her filthy rich insurance company/investment bank owner.

costume design is by Sean Edwards. Lighting is by Celia Wells and photography by Stephen Doobal of Real Company. You can like us on facebook, RS/RR Productions or email us at rs_productions@yahoo.com.

“Bailout” is based on what happens in big financial insurance companies in Trinidad and Tobago. See what goes on when wheeling and dealing goes wrong. When maccos are even watching through thick walls. The play is written by the award- winning Ricardo Samuel, who wrote such hit plays as “Men Are Dogs!”, “Eat Ah Food” and now the screamingly funny “Bailout”.

“Bailout” for two nights only - Friday 1st March & Saturday 2nd March . Showtime Friday and Saturday is 8:30pm . Tickets are $150 general and $200 reserved and are available at NAPA South Box Office from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. For info call 338-6024 or 744-7581.

Sunny Deol: We don’t need the Oscars, we are Indians Sunny paaji finds the whole deal of Bollywood stars aiming for the Academy Awards very absurd. The actor says keeping fans happy is of prime importance much more so than winning some trophy. Sunny Deol, at the promotions of I Love NY, made sure he was brutally honest as always while having an interaction with the media. The actor – when asked about the whole hype surrounding the Oscars – spoke his mind, and it sounded as if he’s taking a dig at a couple of Oscar crazy Bollywood actors. “We don’t need the Oscars, we are Indians. I don’t know what goes on in the mind of stars who are crazy about these awards. Just make our Indian fans happy. Isn’t that more than enough? I have just felt that we should make films which are great,” he said.

Sunny Deol

Once Deol got talking, he made sure his lines got spicier every second. Bollywood’s chivalrous action hero had transformed into a man who loves to create controversies, well, just for half a second. So he added with a bang, “When I got my national award, I was too surprised how I got it. These days everything is manipulated. We make people write our own articles and then get all excited about it and read it in front of other people.”

Veena Malik breaks Salman Khan’s kissing record The Pakistani bombshell who was hoping to create a new world record by receiving the most number of pappis in one minute has finally made it. But what has Salman got to do with it? Veena Malik has become world famous! As per media reports and Veena’s tweet, the drama queen who celebrated her 29th birthday (on February 26) with her fans in Mumbai, has finally inked her name in the Guinness World Records. The rule was – if Veena gets kissed more than 100 times in one minute, she’ll break the Guinness Book of World Records for the most number of kisses. And guess what? The birthday babe was showered with nothing less than 137 kisses in a minute! But to many fans’ disappointment, Ms Malik offered them only her hands to kiss and nothing else. Maybe she’s planning to create another world record by offering some other body part next time, right Veena? The contestants of The City that Never SleepsBollywood Hunt helped her set the new record. The birthday girl who sizzled in a black short skirt and white top admitted of breaking Salman Khan’s record. Uff! “I made it… flattened Dabangg Khan’s GUINNESS record of 108 (kisses)…received 137 kisses in a minute!!!” Veena tweeted.

Crystal Thomas 24, Gasparillo

The OMG team met up with Crystal at the Vie de France restaurant in Tropical Plaza, Pointe-a-Pierrre. The manager there was kind enough to allow us to use the restaurant for our interview with her. Crystal was pleasant and very composed and started off by letting us know that professionally she is not an artist; in fact, she is into technology, IT and web programming. She is not a web designer though; she builds the back end of a site for businesses and enterprises. She says since she was a little girl she had a passion for art. She says learning code and IT for web design could be very challenging so she uses art as an escape mechanism and to relax and rewind from the demands of her job. She says her artistic style is influenced by the many friends she made during her time in England studying and more recently the many artists from around the world she has met on a website called Deviant Art. She thinks her style is heavily influenced by the art she is exposed to from around the world, which she has tried to mould into her own signature expression. Crystal says she has never thought of exhibiting her work and she has never really attempted to sell any of her pieces. We asked which area she prefers -- IT or art and she says she loves them both, that they both have their challenges but they are both extremely fulfilling in different ways. She wants to improve her work and technique before she is confident enough to put her art on exhibition or sale. Her future is filled with ways and plans to develop her skills as an artist. Her OMG moment is when someone walks up to her and says that her work moved them and they were touched by it. She says she never really thought that other people could feel her work the way she feels connected to it and when other people tell her how her work touched them, it is always an OMG moment for her.

Google Glass....

Awesome or Awesome?

Glass is, simply put, a computer built into the frame of a pair of glasses, and it’s the device that will make augmented reality part of our daily lives. With the half-inch (1.3 cm) display, which comes into focus when you look up and to the right, users will be able to take and share photos, video-chat, check appointments and access maps and the Web. Consumers should be able to buy Google Glass by 2014. Check out some footage of what it can do. Check out some footage of what it can do. http://youtu.be/6BTCoT8ajbI

Chris Brown Says His Biggest Mistake Was Hitting Rihanna Rihanna could be right. Chris Brown is not the monster everyone think he is. Not very often Breezy opens up about his relationship with Rihanna, as well as, their past turmoil. Speaking with the UK Mirror, Brown says the biggest regret of his life was hitting Rihanna during that infamous 2009 incident. This is what Breezy said: “Sometimes you row, you fight, with the one you love and things get said, stuff spirals. That night was the deepest regret of my life, the biggest mistake. But she loves me – what can I say? I’m forgiven… but, yes, I worked hard for it.” Brown says he has worked hard ever since to win back Rihanna’s love and to become a better person. “I’ve learned a lot since that night and I’ve grown up. I was very young and I took a lot of stuff, fame, for granted,” he said. Brown is also rumoured to have proposed to Rihanna, but whether or not she has accepted is still not known. The “Turn Up The Music” singer is also currently working on his upcoming album Carpe Diem.

Kim kardashian sex tape master almost

Madonna

Madonna Named Biggest

Music Moneymaker of 2012

With $34 Million

It may have been a hot minute since Madonna has had a bona fide hit song, but that doesn’t seem to matter when it comes to raking in the dough.

Oh the humanity! The unedited master of Kim Kardashian’s sex tape -- Kim K Superstar -- almost burned up over the weekend in a raging fire at Vivid Entertainment ... TMZ has learned. The master – think of it as the Mona Lisa of sex tapes – was secured in a safe inside Vivid honcho Steve Hirsch’s office. When the blaze erupted Saturday night ... Hirsch was miles away at an LA Clippers game.

The “Material Girl” was named the biggest moneymaker in the music industry for 2012, largely on the back of her 88-date MDNA Tour that was by far the biggest of the year. Madonna earned $34.6 million through 2012, but a whopping $32 million of that came from her tour. She was also the only woman to enter the top 10 of music profiteers; Adele came in at No. 11 with $14 million, despite taking much of the year out to have a baby. Rounding out the top four were music legends Bruce Springsteen at No. 2 ($33.4 million), Pink Floyd at No. 3 ($21 million) and Van Halen at No. 4 ($20 million). Justin Bieber placed at No. 10 ($16 million) after his sold-out Believe tour and strong album sales, while Taylor Swift clocked in at No. 15 ($12.7 million) after selling the most digital tracks in 2012.

Hirsch got the 911 call and bailed immediately, because the safe not only contains Kim’s tape but every unedited master of every celebrity sex tape in Vivid’s stable, including the ones starring Kendra Wilkinson, Pam and Tommy Lee, Jimi Hendrix, Vince Neil, Tom Sizemore, and Chyna. Also in the vault – several celebrity sex tapes that have never seen the light of day. Fear not ... because Hirsch made it just in the nick of time. The safe was singed but the contents were intact.

How do ink drops look in 4K? Simply incredible In case you happened to have just purchased a brand new top-of-the-line 4K TV, you may be wondering exactly what you can watch with all those pixels. The answer, or at least one answer, is a series of slow-motion ink drops.

So the repertoire of 4K video (also officially known as “Ultra HD” by the Consumer Electronics Association, or CEA) might be pretty limited right now, but every new example is still enough to whet the appetite of videophiles everywhere. For the 99.99% of consumers who don’t have an expensive 4K TV, you can still get a glimpse of just how powerful the new video standard is. Jacob and Katie Schwarz have been uploading 4K videos to YouTube for several months. Most of them get views in the tens of thousands. But the latest one, “INK DROPS 4K (ULTRA HD),” has received more than half a million views. What’s so special about this one? There’s something more ethereal about the majestic slow-motion blotches of ink that provide a much deeper sensory satisfaction than watching a scenic landscape or animals in nature, even if you don’t

have a 4K display. You can still see just how crisp the images are when they’re shot with such an amazing resolution. Toggling through the video’s settings, from 240p to 1080p, is the best way of showing how the video experience changes as you up the resolution, and it sparks the imagination to wonder what other content could be brought in a more lifelike way than ever before. Aside from very specialised pieces of content or equipment, the only real draw for Ultra HD sets is the ability to upscale 1080p media, and of course the promise that more content will be on the way soon. Before being ushered into the consumer market, 4K (“Ultra HD”) displays have been used primarily for commercial purposes, whether it’s digital in-store displays or eye-catching advertisements at arenas or trade shows. Now that the CEA has set specific standards and specifications, though, expect the ushering in of Ultra HD content to begin in earnest. http://www.geek.com/articles/gadgets/ink-drops-look-in-4k-20130223/
