Sacrament: Confirmation an pagbabago na dinara sako kan pagkumpil iyo na nagin mabúot, matinubod-tubod, asin nagdakula an pagtubod ko sa mahal na Dyos na si Jesus Christ.— Rock Stanley F. Rivera , 11 ****** I became more banal, Kaban and believe that God is Pagtubod really real. Finally, I believe that Jesus and his angels will always guide us in everything.—Gab, 12 ****** I prayed to God in my times of struggle. And believing that He is always guiding us everyday.—Ronina, 12 ****** I trust God more than ever I trusted him before; to be mature; to be more confident in life; to nurture myself; to stay strong against the problems I go through.—Merigel , 12
What Pope Francis said about the sacrament of Confirmation? It is important that young people receive the Sacrament of Confirmation , through which one receives the Holy Spirit and is thus more firmly united to Christ and to the Church, to spread the faith and live as true Christians. Confirmation is to be understood in continuity with Baptism, to which it is inseparably linked. These two sacraments, together with the Eucharist, form a unique salvific event, Christian initiation, in which we become part of Jesus Christ who died and rose again and in which we become new creatures and members of the Church. This is why originally these three sacraments were celebrated in a single moment, at the end of the catechumenate, usually at the Easter Vigil. Thus the course of formation and of gradual insertion into the Christian community, that could last for several years, was finally sealed. “The term Confirmation reminds us that this sacrament brings an increase of baptismal grace: it unites us more firmly to Christ; it completes our bond with the Church; it grants us the special strength of
the Holy Spirit to spread and defend the faith, to confess the name of Christ and never to be ashamed of His Cross .This is why it’s important to take care that our children, our young people receive this sacrament. We all take great care that they are baptized : and this is good! But perhaps we were less concerned for them to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation: thus they are stuck in the middle of the journey. This sacrament is very important in Christian life, because it gives us the strength to go on ! Let’s think a little about this, each of us: Do we, really, care about our children and our young people and that they receive the Sacrament of Confirmation? It is important, this is important. If you have children at home, teenagers who have not yet received it and are old enough to receive it, do everything possible to bring this Christian initiation to completion, so that they receive the power of the Holy Spirit. It is important!. Of course it is important to offer a good preparation to those receiving it, which should aim to lead them to a personal commitment to faith in Christ and to awaken in them a sense of belonging to the Church. Confirmation, like every sacrament is not the work of men, but of God, who takes care of our lives to mold us in the image of his Son, to enable us to love Him as He does us this by instilling in us the his Holy Spirit , the action of which pervades the whole person and all of his or her life , as reflected by the seven gifts—wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety and fear of God—that tradition, in the light of Sacred Scripture, has always stressed. “When we welcome the Holy Spirit into our hearts, and we let him act, Christ makes himself present in us and takes shape in our lives. Through us, He will, Christ will pray, forgive, infuse hope and consolation, serve our brothers and sisters, be close to the needy and to the last, create community, sow peace. Just think about how important this is: that through the Holy Spirit , Christ himself will do all this in the midst of us and for us ! So it is important that children and young people receive this sacrament. † mandylion
Glimmering darkness some people are differently abled from what society portrays as normalcy.
Tales of Ken was my classmate Faith in 7th and 8th grade, and is currently in another section in 9th grade. He saw the world in another point of view despite not having eyesight. At the age of 10, he was covered in a 2014 issue of Manilla Bulletin as “the blind drummer boy”, who could not only play drums, but also the piano, guitar, and other instruments he learned of as a way to cope. Ever since Ken was breathed into life, music became his passion. Although he received love and support from many friends and his family, there were dangerous waters and high tides Ken couldn’t simply ride with. The young lad would sometimes feel suffocated and it would get to him how burdening his unchangeable state was. Ken would get teased in school and even got bullied because he was ‘too makulit’, with boys making fun of his blindness by playing games on him. However, he was not shaken and constantly held on to his faith. In such times, Ken would ‘converse’ in his prayers to God, where he felt listened to. As a teenager, he thinks that inclusion in youth groups in the church would emotionally help him greatly. Ken’s support system would not only be comprised of a few friends and relatives, but also of people his age that share their own ways of professing their faith as the youth of Christ. Other than that, he says that God had always ‘made up’ with things Ken lacked: to see light in the eternal darkness in front of him. † jahzara shainne endriga If you got a story of faith, a testimony of God’s endless and powerful presence in your life, a prayer you earnestly desires to be fulfilled, a tale of grace and providence, or any narrative of God’s warmth and St. Jude Thaddeus’ intercession, please share t with us. Via Crucis in the neighborhood for a purposive change, SJTP will conduct the traditional Via Crucis or Stations of the Cross in its neighborhood from March 3 at Sitios Salvacion and Sto. Niño to empower the different Sitios and Villages instead of the usual parish church-oriented devotion. Lent is the opportune season that challenges us to open up ourselves to the Lord, to give more of our time, talent and treasure, and to be more engaged with the church. The popular devotion Via Crucis can open us to a deeper understanding of the Lord’s Passion and Crucifixion. It draws and invites the community to join the Church in reflective prayer of the suffering of Christ due to our personal and social sins. By bringing down this devotion to the communities, it becomes an avenue to enrich and build Christian communities. The Via Crucis in the Sitios and Villages calls for solidarity in prayer in our dream of a more participatory community. For every Sitio or Village at least 15 families will lead in praying and preparation of the stations. This simple act would hopefully create a ripple of unity in the local
church of St. Jude Thaddeus in this part of Naga City. In our earnest desire to bring families together, we also expose our children to the rich Catholic traditions that lead them to greater communion in faith. This brings our church closer to our people, strengthening the Basic Ecclesial Community thrust of forming dedicated communities within the Parish where faith is anchored in the teachings of the Catholic Church. Via Crucis is a potential tool for evangelization in the Parish especially in this season Lent. It does not only bring the Church to the least, last and the lost but it also
extends the ultimate message of Lent, that is, the hope the springs eternal because of Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross. His suffering defines how he deeply loves us, and his resurrection is the ultimate Joy that we anticipate this season. † mariss catherine roque
Mother’s Class: Teaching Mothers ‘How to Fish’ the sunday catechism with feeding got a bit of an upgrade last Feb 16 upon the introduction of the Mother’s Class which aims to teach the mothers of the children attending catechesis, “how to fish” to sustain and/or improve the health and nutritional status they have Oftentimes health and nutrition workers complain that the children they have fed are underweight again after “giving them fish” for 120 days. By empowering these “nurturers and cradle rockers”, these mothers may also rock the world because in their hands the health and life of their children depend on. We say charity begins at home. Indeed, these women need to be healthy themselves first, so that they can better take care of
their family. On the first day of Mother’s class, the 28 mothers and grandmothers had initial health and fitness assessment. There was weight, height and waist circumference determination. Their coordination, balance, speed and power were also assessed. To be determined yet are their flexibility, muscular and cardiorespiratory strength and endurance and body composition.
Not yet completed is the interview on their family history, diet, smoking and alcohol use, stress and causes. This profiling and baseline information will help in deciding on what knowledge, skill and even attitude to focus on. With the cooperation of the mothers, support of the Parish and inspiration of the Holy Spirit, will the success of this endeavor be far behind? † melba vera cruz

An inot na simbolismo nin alpog asin abó iyo an kasagkuran nin tawo. Pakatapos magkasala an tawo, sya nagpuon na magsakit asin magadan. An ikaduwang kahulugan, kun siring, kan abó iyo an pagbakli sa pagkakasala.
An saiyang pagpenitensya ginibo sa paagi kan pagsulot nin sako asin abó. Pakahubaa an gubing nin kamurawayan saka kamunduan, asin imbes kan mamahalon nyang mga panlahid, pinanô nya an saiyang payo nin abó asin an saiyang hawak pinaludok nyang gayo, an gabos nyang samno hinali, an buhok nya mayo nang kahusayan.” † fr. francis tordilla
