AKO PO si Fernando Galang, mas kilala bilang Kuya Danny. Nagtrabaho ako sa St. Jude Parish ng Naga ST. JUDE’S mula noong Oktubre 28, 1997. Si Msgr. Bob Garpio ang kura paroko noon. Ako ang nag-aasikaso ng mga trabahador, tagalinis, at sakristan. Pagdaan ng panahon, nakaramdam ako ng sakit sa tiyan at pag-ihi. Pinabayaan ko lang ito. Tuwing sumasasakit, nagdarasal ako kay St. Jude: “Tabangan mo po ako, dai mo po ako pabayaan.” Dumating ang araw na hindi ko na nakayanan ang sakit, dinala ako ni Msgr. Bob at ng asawa ko sa ospital. Sabi ng doktor, wala na raw magagawa kundi operahan. Nakaiskedyul na ang operasyon, relax na ako sa kwarto, naghihintay na lang ako ng oras, kaya nagdasal ako: “Kagurangnan, dai mo po ako pabayaan. Parish hosts clergy assembly PRIESTHOOD AS “worthy instrument of peace and unity,” was the theme of the holy hour which opened the clergy general assembly on August 23 held at the St. Jude Thaddeus Parish. STJP first hosted the assembly in October 2002 under its first parish priest, the late Msgr. Roberto “Bob” Carpio. Attended by 121 priests and deacons, and presided by Most Rev. Rolando Octavus J. Tria Tirona, ocd, dd, the assembly began with the holy hour at 9am, followed by a meeting at the Shrine. Lunch was served at the Edessa Hall. Vicar General Msgr. Rodel M. Cajot, Chair of the Ministry Cluster for the Clergy, reported on seminary formation. Meanwhile, Fr. Erwin Obias discussed details of

FR. REX LUIS LIANKO HIDALGO, was born to Esteban F. Hidalgo Jr. (+) and Anita L Hidalgo (+) on July 29, 1962. He studied at Naga Parochial School and Holy Rosary Minor Seminary, and in 1984 he obtained his BS Psychology at Ateneo de Naga. Before his priesthood, he worked for a while at Plan International as community organizer, and pastoral worker at the Most Holy Trinity Parish in Bato. He was ordained priest on June 25, 1998. Fr. Rex is popular among youth as he was the Director of the Caceres Youth

Abaño, parish priest of Holy Cross Parish, Tabuco, Naga City, presented the history and status updates of the Holy Cross Parish. According to Fr. Eric Bobis, secretary to the Archbishop, the monthly gathering is an opportunity for priests to discuss and be updated about Archdiocesan concerns, to bond with fellow priests and to visit various parishes in Caceres. The assembly is organized by the Chancery Office in coordination with the parishes as they take turns as host. n A PARISH IN PRAYER. In his second pastoral visit to SJTP communities, Fr. Wilmer met with parishioners from Zone 1, of Concepcion Grande. He blest their homes, anointed the sick, and gave communion to those who can no longer attend church services due to infirmities. He devoted part of his visit to encouraging parishioners to have small-group prayer meetings which can be guided by the Lectio Divina section of the Parish Weekly Bulletin.

He became the pastor of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish in Garchitorena (2001-2003), assistant pastor of Saint Raphael the Archangel Parish in Pili (2004-2006), and in the Parish of St. Francis of Assisi in Buhi (2013-2015). Aside from his assignment as a parochial vicar of SJTP, he is the current Archdiocesan Director for the Association of the Children of Mary, and the Formation Director of Consuelo “Chito” Madrigal FoundationBikol. He has a very colorful life as a priest as manifested by the unique decoration on the door of his room at the SJTP convent. Fr. Rex is well known for great sense of humor and his animated homilies. n

feast day of their patroness, Our Lady of Salvation; many attended the Eucharistic celebration officiated by Fr. Wilmer who noted a significant improvement in the number of churchgoers in the community.

SUNDAY ANNOUNCEMENTS AUGUST 29. Kolping Society of SJTP will conduct the Single Parent Outreach Activity from 8 to 10am at Del Rosario Barangay Hall. It will be a moment of sharing the Word of God and sharing meal. AUGUST 30. The Clergy of Caceres will hold the Pre-Peñafrancia Recollection at the Peñafrancia Basilica. There will evening mass at the Parish Church. SEPTEMBER 2. SJTP will participate in the Dawn Procession from the Immaculate Conception Parish (ICP) to Peñafrancia Shrine. Participants will gather at the SJTP patio at 3am and proceed by car to the Immaculate Conception Curch. The Dawn Procession starts at 4am. Parishioners, religious organi-zations and ministries are encouraged to participate in this annual religious pilgrimage. SEPTEMBER 5-10. Fr. Wilmer convenes an Asian Conference on Knowledge, Justice and Spirituality at Ateneo de Naga University. 15 delegates from Asian countries are expected to participate. As convenor, he will only be available for morning masses at our Parish. He requests prayers for the success of this activity.
