Do good

fr. nunilon arnold f. bancaso jr. OUR GOSPEL this Sunday is a simple story of two individuals. The first one is a poor man named Lazarus, and the other, an unknown rich man who is in position to help him. If we will try to see the situation of Lazarus, his needs are small compared to ours. Unfortunately, the rich man did nothing to answer those needs. The rich man, has done nothing wrong to Lazarus, but he has done no good for him either. He paid no attention and simply ignored Lazarus. Because of these reasons, he was punished by the Lord. Oftentimes, we are so world, for we are all brothers focused on ourselves that and sisters. One thing that we SUNDAY we tend to ignore others, need to do is to acknowledge especially those who are this reality. If we do so, we can in need. We may not be doing them any freely express and show our love. harm when they’re around, but we are also We cannot just close our eyes to any doing no good for these people. Perhaps, unjust situation, and ignore it and pretend because we think that they ought to work it does not exist. We cannot just speak about hard for themselves to have a good life. But justice and do nothing. What we can do is do we give them opportunities to work? We to look into it and act accordingly. Instead may be thinking that it’s their family or the of closing our eyes, we can generouly open society who must be responsible for them, them to see problems more clearly, so that but are we not members of the society? we can act on them more decisively and Our gospel does not speak of material more fully. A writer once said, “it is better to poverty alone, but also about the lack of light a candle than to curse the dark.” presence, attention, care, love, and support In the end, our Lord will judge us that ought to be felt by others. Let us according to the good or evil acts we have remember that there are no strangers in this done. n

Reflection

GIYA PARA SA PRAYER MEETING

Lukas 17:5-10

Para sa ika-27 Domingo (Taon C) “PAKUSUGA AN samong pagtubod.” Kun igwa kamo kan pagtubod siring sa pisog kan mustasa. Ginamit ni Jesus an mustasa sa pagpaliwanag na an pagtubod minapuon na sadit alagad LECTIO Divina ini minadakula asin minarambong kun ini inaataman aroaldaw. Kun kaya, dawa ano an gustuhon kan tawong may masarig na pagtubod, napapangyari nya ini. Yaon sa pagtubod an bisa kan sarong pamibi. Pàno ko inaataman asin pinapakusog an sakong pagtubod? “Mag-andam ka nin makakakan ko.” Pinapagirumdom kita kan ebanghelyo na an sugo nin Dyos dai natatapos. Ginigibo mi sana an dapat nyamong gibuhon.” Mahalagang gayo an kapakumbabaan. Ini sarong kabansayan o virtue. Makakamtan sana ini kun mamatian nyato an kulog asin lanit kan mga tataramon kan iba tumang sa sato, alagad natitios ta ini. Susog ki Tomas a Kempis, mahalaga na mapakumbaba kita sa atubangan kan Mahal na Dyos. Ini an magdadara sato nin kadunungan asin katuninungan. Pàno ko makakamtan an kapakumbabaan sa sakong pagtabang sa parokya? n

Take heart, Jesus hears even the last echo of our pain.
