SJTP holds strat plan workshop “A PARISH with enhanced liturgical and pastoral services to parishioners and devotees of St. Jude by giving chance to the lay leaders and volunteers to craft their own strategic plans.” This is what SJTP pastor Fr. Wilmer Joseph S. Tria envisioned for the Pastoral Strategic Planning Workshop on February 3 and 4, 2017, at the Edessa Hall. The workshop, which was attended by the officers of the Pastoral Council as well as heads of various parish ministries, was expected to pen a 5-year plan for SJTP towards it 25th year as a parish. “The workshop is held to set specific goals for each of the ministries within the parish,” Fr. Wilmer Added. Pastoral works within the parish are made possible with the active involvement of parishinervolunteers in ministries, namely, worship, education, social services, temporalities, youth, clergy, and laity. The workshop began on Friday evening with a session entitled “My Pastoral Imagination,” which allowed the participants to reflect on their respective dreams for the parish. Workshop sessions on Saturday, February 4, were focused on setting goals, objectives, and action plans. The event ended with the presentation of plans by each of the ministries. The sessions were facilitated by Julma Narvadez, Ansherina Brioso, and Ivy Sta. Ana, from the Consuelo Chito Madrigal Foundation-Bikol (CCMF-Bikol), as part of an outreach program. “I envision a Parish that is responsive to the call of the times, and as a welcoming Church,” Patrick Henry Balmaceda, head of the Workship Ministry, shares his thoughts on the occasion. Rene Malanyaon, street coordinator and BEC prayer leader saw the workshop as an opportunity. “Ang pangapudan ni Pope
Francis, ang Laity makisumaro sa misyon kan Simbahan. Ini ang pagkakataon para maisabuhay ko iyan.” Education ministry head Flor Villarey considered the planning as a venue “to improve my spiritual learning and deepen my faith to God and be a blessing to others through my inputs.” Ellen Pena, St. Jude Charity head and PPC secretary, also shared that “the strategic plan will be the road map for SJTP to achieve its goal of making the Parish ‘a Church for all’.” n
