THE MOTHER Butler Guild (MBG) is a religious organization for women in the Parish and Shrine of St Jude Thaddeus. Internationally, the Guild was founded by Mother Marie Joseph Butler, an Irish nun of the Congregation of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Her devotion to Jesus was manifested in the care and the upkeep of the Altar.

In the Philippines, the late Rufino Cardinal Santos established the Mother Butler Guild of the Archdiocese of Manila in April 28, 1961. In SJTP, the MBG was organized during the time of Msgr. Bob Carpio. It was recently reactivated by Fr. Wilmer Joseph Tria.

There are three dimensions in the life of a Mother Butler: 1. study: Attending meetings, bible studies and seminars and retreats; 2. work: Performing assigned tasks like washing and sewing vestments and altar linens; keeping the altar clean and beautiful at all times; arranging flowers and preparing the materials needed for the mass. Members must also be familiar with the Liturgical vestments, linens and vessels used during Liturgical celebrations. And 3. prayer: Attending weekly prayer Mother Butler Guild... to p.4
