LISTEN TO HIM!

T

his second Sunday of Lent, while we join Jesus in the desert of temptations, the gospel brings us to another experience where Jesus is revealed as glorious and divine, with a voice coming from the cloud saying: “This is my beloved Son. Listen to him.”

is coming in my life being away from home often, I always tell my family that communication is very important. But I always forget that communication is also the ability to listen.

I was such stubborn and obstinate person.

This made my relationship with my wife worsen. I am lucky to have such a loving and forgiving family, yet I betrayed their trust by giving them the ups and downs they didn’t deserve. God has always been good to me, making me aware of the fact that what I was doing was drifting me apart from my relationship with my wife. I’ve come to my senses before I lost everything we started, and made me review my priorities and values seriously. Fears engulfed me thinking that the inner strength that the Lord has graced me was fading away. Through ardent prayers, I started to draw strength and wisdom again to carry on with Christian life I was called to live. Slowly I grasped the discipline I

he Sunday gospel this week narrates to us, once more, the story of Jesus’ transfiguration in the mount. As we contemplate on Jesus changing his appearance, on his radiant glory dazzling Peter and the others, let us try to look into ourselves and reflect too on the changes we want for and in ourselves. What could probably be these changes? Some parishioners have generously shared with us their own aspirations for change. was expected of—as a proof of love to my family. I took everyday life’s happening with positivity. Everything may not have been good but I always thought that there’s something new and good in everyday. I prayed hard to God to help me and guide me to respond truthfully to the changes I want to have in my life. It was not an easy start but the will to earn my wife’s trust again was more important than anything in this world. God is so good. He made me listen and He answered my prayers. for myself, family, friends, and especially for God. Because as a senior highscool I really miss those times when I was serving our Lord Jesus Christ. I wanted to go back in time when I was younger and had no problems. I was simple just happy a kid. I want to change because I know with change I can be a better person by serving God. I am also aware that talking back to my Mom is one thing that I should change. I love my Mom and I know I shouldn’t treat her rudely that way. I think cursing is also included in those that I want to take away from my life.

Though I know cursing is just an expression, I think it’s inappropriate of me as a woman to keep acting that way. Seeking attention is one thing I have to change too.
