Fruitful years of Pastorship
T
his week is Fr. Wilmer's last week as Parish Priest of the Archdiocesan Shrine and Parish of St. Jude Thaddeus. We bid him and Fr. Rex—a package deal indeed!—goodbye as they move to downtown Pili for their new assignments. With this, we welcome Fr. Francis, who has been here with us for a year now, as our new Parish Priest. We thank Fr. Wilmer for the fruitful years, and in this issue we take a review of them and thank the Lord for the gift of our priests and the numerous blessing we've received.
2016 July 16. Fr. Wilmer Tria was installed as the Fourth Parish Priest of St. Jude Thaddeus Parish and as the Second Rector of the Shrine. August 7. Organized the Staff for the Parish Weekly Bulletin and published its First Issue. August 17. Started House to House Visitation at the Different Sitios in Concepcion Grande, bringing the Sacraments of Confession and Anointing of the Sick to the bedridden and inviting family members to join the Weekly Bible Studies at the Parish. August 23. Hosted the Monthly Clergy Assembly. August 26-28. Reintroduced Antioch to the Parish by conducting the Antioch Weekend Experience. September 10. Formally Launched the Feeding Program after the 8am Mass and 9am Catechesis and Mothers’ Class. September 10. Opened the Altar Servers to Girls from age 4-12. September 12 – Began the Weekly Bible Study for Prayer Leaders. September 24-25. Conducted a Two-Day Training for Prayer Leaders of BEC. October 7. Held the Blessing, Rededication and Turn-Over of the Chapel of the Holy Rosary at Barangay Del Rosario from the Diaz Family to the Archdiocese of Caceres. Most. Rev. Rolando Tria Tirona, OCD, DD, led the celebration. October 19-28. Invited the Parishioners from the Sitios to join the Novena Masses and Introduced them as VIPs in the Liturgy; distributed Images of St. Jude and groceries to the VIPs; Introduced the Three-Minute Catechesis before Mass; Donated an Image of Mary Magdalene to the Chapel of St. Magdalene. October 28. Installed the New Set of Pastoral Council Officers by Most Rev. Rolando Tria Tirona, OCD, DD. November 3. Held Prayer Rally for the Dead Victims of Hate. Featured at Manila Bulletin. November 6. Donated Wheelchairs, Crutches and Canes to PWDs through the generosity of CFSOP.
November 8. Fr. Wilmer joined the Tokhang Operations held at Barangay Del Rosario led by Col. Efren Orlina. November 19. Opened the St. Jude Parish Mini-Gift Shop, selling religious articles and books. November 20. Introduced the Tinagba of Used Clothing, Toys and Books from the Solemnity of Christ the King up until the Aguinaldo Masses, to be distributed to the Indigents during Christmas Season and, if ever, as give-a-ways for Disaster Preparation. December 10. Welcomed the Missionary Sisters Servants of the Word to the Parish for the House-to-House Visitation. December 19. Held Christmas Carols with the UST Singers as Fund-Raiser. December 26. Super Typhoon Nina hit the Bikol Region. The following day, the Parish distributed 200 bags to 200 affected families within the Parish. 2017 January 29. Held a Reunion of MBG for the purpose of Re-establishing it as a Religious Organization of the Parish which was dissolved during the past administration. February 3-4. Conducted Pastoral Strategic Planning for all PPC and APC Officers and Heads of the Different Ministries of the Parish. February 25. Launched Statement Shirts against EJK such as “EKJ not OK”, “REJEKT”, “Jesus Died on the Cross to Give us Life”. March 1. Parishioners participated in the Via Crucis kaiba an Arsobispo wearing Statement Shirts. March 11. Conducted Biblical Formation for Prayer Leaders. Distributed Bibles to participants for free. March 24-26. Reintroduced and held its first of a series of Parish Renewal Experience (PREX) Seminar. It hibernated for 8 years in the Parish. At the end of Fr. Tria’s term, 15 PREX Seminar were conducted. April 7. Introduced the Viernes Dolores with the image of OL of Sorrows joining the Via Crucis.
April 8. Organized an Archdiocesan Penitential Walk for Life condemning the evils of EJK and Death Penalty. Twelve (12) Parishes participated and culminated with a Mass presided by Most Rev. Rolando Tria Tirona, OCD, DD. April 13. Introduced the Washing of the Feet as recommended by Pope Francis, that is, to Wash the Feet of the Laity representing the different sectors in the Society. Included were Drug Surrenderees. The story was featured at Rappler. April 14. Introduced the conduct of traditional Siete Palabras at the Church with Lay People sharing their reflections. April 18-20. Visit of the Pilgrim Icon of OMPH. May 5-7. Reintroduced the Youth Encounter at the Parish. May 13. Celebrated the Centennial Year of Our Lady of Fatima at OL Fatima Chapel, Almeda. May 18-26. Introduced the Simultaneous Children Catechesis at the Different Chapels with a Culminating Activity at the Parish Church. May 26. Established the Religious Association called Hermanas de Santa Elena through the Mass, Coronation and Conferral of Certificates to its First Members, followed by Sagala Procession riding on festooned padyak. June 25. Conducted Free Medical Check-Up for the Indigents of the Parish within the Novena Days of Our Mother of Perpetual Help. June 28. Celebrated the 28th Foundation Anniversary of the Parish. Officially reestablished MBG at the Parish and installed its Officers. July 23. Celebrated the First Fiesta of St. James the Great at St. James Homes. July 29.
