Musical Notes

On Wednesday 2H visited the Honeysuckle Singers group to take part in a Musical Connections workshop.

We were so proud of the children who were really lovely with all the people who go to this group. The children were so polite, they made sure they spoke to all the grown ups, and it didn't take very long before they were all chatting away making new friends.

In the session they had lots of fun singing, playing musical games and there was lots of flag waving in preparation for the King's Coronation. The children finished the session with a new song Sing for the King!

Musical Connections is a York charity which runs valuable music sessions around the city in residential homes, sheltered housing and drop in sessions for older residents who are a little more mobile and independent. The children really did bring a lot of smiles to the group and they are now very much looking forward to 2P's visit next week and 2J's visit the week after. Well done 2H, you were the perfect ambassadors for St Peter's 2-8!

As the term gets underway we are very much looking forward to our three concerts in the final week, please see the details below.

Many thanks to all the parents who have already signed their children up to play!

Year 1 - on Monday 22nd May at 2pm we will be holding a concert for parents. All Year 1 children will be taking part either singing or playing their recorder if they have lessons with Ms Leaman-Brown. For our instrumentalists it will be their very first concert performing in front of an audience so I am sure the children will be very excited. We look forward to welcoming you into school!

Year 2 - on Tuesday 23rd May at 1.30pm we will be holding a concert for our Year 2 instrumentalists. If your child has instrumental lessons in school and you would like them to perform in the concert, please can you email me a.hayden@stpetersyork.org.uk so I can pop them on my list?

Our choir will also be performing at this concert too and we are very much looking forward to welcoming you into school.

Year 3 - on Wednesday 24th May at 1.30pm we will be holding a concert for our Year 3 instrumentalists. If your child has instrumental lessons in school and you would like them to perform in the concert, please can you email me a.hayden@stpetersyork.org.uk so I can pop them on my list?
