What do You feel while singing, creating music? I feel the music!
Youngr is the new project name of musician Dario Darnell, the same Dario Darnell who formed electronic pop duo Picture Book with brother Lorne few years back. What encouraged You to create/compose music? I’ve always been fascinated by music from a super early age. I was playing drums in the womb! Also my dad is a musician, so I have been surrounded by music and instruments all my life. Why have You chosen this musical style? It just happened by having to loop all the instruments myself in Ableton… It gave me boundaries and walls to work within, and the dancey style just naturally came out. But I love all kinds of music. I used to be in rock bands, funk bands, jazz bands etc. Where do You seek inspiration for Your new creations? Everywhere and anywhere! Not the x-factor though. Ha. That sucks any inspiration out of me. I like late night radio the most. BBC 6 music or classical FM! Which one of Your concerts was the most memorable for You and why? Probably when i played Hyde park with my brother in our band ‘Picture Book’.. We played infront of 80,000 people… It was madness. If You were Super Hero, were You’ ll use the power? To grow two more arms so I can play drums and piano at the same time. If You weren’t the composer and singer , what profession You’ll have chosen? Basket ball! I used to (and still do) LOVE basketball.. Got chosen to train for England under 16’s back in the day!
Maybe You’ll like to try Yourself in the new musical style? I‘m sure I‘ll naturally evolve and mutate to other genres, but i have always loved romantic classical music, and i can see more influences seeping through. Which song was fun to create? Which one caused the problems? Fun - sweet disposition bootleg, I’ve always loved that song by Temper Trap, and I love high energy calypso inspired music… No 2+4 back beats, lots of cowbells and guitar syncopation … Caused most problems trying to clear ANY samples to release them… That is a BALLACHE. By data from Spotify it is visible that people most of all like your song „Out of my system“.Possibly you have some assumptions about it? How in general this song was created? I guess everyone has been through that part of their life or are currently going through it… Going crazy, getting drunk, romance, no responsibility yet, basically giving zero fucks and living life! This song was created by me doing exactly that last year! (I’ve settled down a bit now!) Which of Your songs is the most close to You and why? A song I wrote called Somewhere in Paris… You’ll hear it on the album soon hopefully! What are Your plans for future? (in music) To take over the world What are Your plans for the nearest future? Maybe You intend to visit Lithuania? There is a european tour being booked for february… Hopefully Lithuania will be on that list! You are so popular, what’s the feeling of public recognition, crowds of fans asking for selfy with you? I’m not THAT popular! a few selfies at gigs is fine! haven’t been recognised in the streets of London yet! What can you wish to our audience? For peace, love and happiness!
