For just the fourth time in our club’s 124 year history, the Colts won the Premiership, a feat nearly not possible due to the COVID-19 outbreak and the genuine possibility that a football season wouldn’t go ahead. The commitment shown during the COVID period by players, staff and families was outstanding and I’d like to commend you all on how you dealt with it and continued to stay hungry and engaged. I would like to congratulate colts head coach Chayce Creedy and his coaching team consisting of Jason Hoskins, John Mansbridge, Josh Leunig, Brett Davis, Craig Francis and Nick Visser. I’d also like to make special mention to our support staff including Maddie Oudman, Abe Davey, Harrison McBriar and Karen South who have done a fantastic job throughout the season and have made a massive contribution to our success in 2020
Congratulations to Lachlan Henderson, Lachlan Vanirsen, Sandon Page, Jaxon Mcgowan, Matthew Johnson, Blake Morris and Tyler Brockman who were all a part of the State 18’s program for 2020 Another special mention must go to Lachlan Vanirsen, after a fantastic season Lachlan snared the Jack Clarke Medal for being the best player in the colt’s competition, the Taylor Medal Subiaco’s Colts Best and Fairest, a Premiership medal and also the Mel Whinnen medal for being judged best on

ground in our premiership win. An outstanding feat and we wish Lachlan all the best and look forward to following his bright future. TALENT SQUADS Stuart Page headed up our development programs and coached the Futures with assistants David Emes, Bill Quartermaine and Steve Elliot. The Subiaco Futures program was a resounding success and went through the season undefeated whilst giving 44 players both metro and regional the opportunity to don the Maroon and gold. Stuart and his team have started something of a football factory at the development squad level and it’s no coincidence that the colts are travelling well with the calibre of players and the high standard they are at when they enter the colts age program. Big thanks must also go to James Mckee and Alicia Spencer for your continued support. Development squads were a different format due to COVID this year but we still managed to get a training block and a few games in to help identify the next crop of futures players. Thanks to David Emes and Stuart Page along with Steve Sadowski, Steve Elliot , Sam Mulari, Andie Fagan, Alan Gibson and Chris Mc Henry for your assistance getting the programs off the ground. COUNTRY ZONE The Lions pride regional academies in Esperance and Kalgoorlie have played a pivotal part in the club’s success within the talent space in 2020. 29 players from our regional zones represented Subiaco across the talent pathway in 2020 with 10 regional players being part of the undefeated futures side and four playing in the colt’s premiership side. Thank you to the GFL and EDFA for your continued support of the lion’s pride academy. Special mention to Lane Tomich, Brendon Simpson, Rhett Foster, Brent Gouge, Jason Wells, Kody Kelman, Paul Hunter, Eshe Christie, Kylie Hahn, Simon DeBeen, Neale Harvey, Gary Fitzgerald and Gemma Harrison
