Hallandale's Tyler Huntley wins Elite 7 QB Challenge When Tyler Huntley left the Elite 7 Quarterback Challenge last year at Cardinal Gibbons High School, the Hallandale High standout realized that he would have one more year to grab the title in this prestigious event. Last Saturday, with 45 of the top signal callers from south Florida and several other areas competing at University School, the junior made the most of his final appearance in the event that quarterback guru Ken Mastrole hosted once again. Huntley impressed all day, and when he went against Jhakari Harrison (Coconut Creek), Jason Brown (Plantation American Heritage), Nick Holm (Calvary Christian Academy), Kato Nelson (Champagnat Catholic), Murphy Theodore (Miami High) and defending champion Todd Centeio (Royal Palm) in the final seven, he was impressive.

HALLANDALE BEACH The City of Hallandale Beach has released a request for proposals (RFP) for construction of the new Main Fire Station, which will be built on Foster Road between NW 1st and NW 2nd Avenues. Construction is anticipated to begin in early 2016. For more, see Page 8A.
