Larry Blustein

HOLLYWOOD - I have said it over and over again when it comes to the City of Hollywood. But after last Sunday's annual St. Patrick's Day Parade and Celebration in downtown, it is worth mentioning again. When it comes to throwing a community party, this is one city that is tough to beat, and if the thousands who poured into the streets on Sunday - in anticipation of this Sunday's St. Patrick's Day holiday was an indication - things couldn't have gone better. –––––––––––––––––––– BLUSTEIN, Page 9A

Jose, a Miami-Dade transit driver, began to require reading glasses years ago. Then over time, he started to have trouble seeing at a distance as well, and needed either bifocals or two different pairs of glasses. "I was going for a vision test every two years, and the prescription would always change," he recalls. "I was really tired of it." One day, a co-worker told Jose about her daughter, who had successful Lasik surgery by Dr. Stanley Braverman. Intrigued, he decided to pay a visit to Dr. Braverman at the Braverman Eye Center in Hallandale Beach. "I hoped I'd be able to quit wearing my glasses," he says.
