LIVE SUMMER RACING Usually, when May rolls around, I pull out my column and start to write that feel good, inspirational piece that is designed to motivate the businesses in our community. I guess it comes a few weeks earlier this year. Last week, Hallandale Beach Commissioner Bill Julian asked me about that very column. By Larry Blustein Sun Times When racing fans filed out of Gulfstream Park last Friday to signal the end of live racing for the current meet, it may have been the last time that will happen at this legendary facility. Florida officials approved requests by Calder Race Course and Gulfstream Park to allow both tracks to begin year-round racing starting on July 1.
