Every city that has a coastline is faced with the same task of keeping the beach full of sand - but the price tag for this ongoing loss of sand is not cheap. Cities are not making beach renourishment a priority because of the process and the cost. In Hallandale Beach, where there is just one mile to be concerned with, estimates have thrown around numbers such as $4 million to have sand shipped in for project.
