At Azalea Gardens Assisted Living resort our commitment to our residents and families is matched by our commitment to the activities and outings that we provide for them. The activities planned at Azalea Gardens are to help improve the quality of life for the seniors and are designed to meet their physical emotional and social needs. It is the Activity Coordinators job to keep a record of activities used with the residents, for one-onone, in room activities as well as those used in group settings, and to gauge the ability levels of resi-
dents and determine some activities that may be more beneficial to them. Monthly calendars are created each month by Chris Snider, Director of Community Relations for Timeless Life Care and are mailed out to keep everyone informed of the planned activities. These help the residents, the staff, resident families and others know what is coming up and what to prepare for. Many of these activities are planned weeks or months in advance and are based around monthly themes that involve the holidays or other large events, such as Independence Day (in the USA), Canada Day (In Canada),
Remembrance Day, Easter, Thanksgiving and many more. It is a challenge for our activity director to keep things fresh and
interesting for so many residents in order that they don’t become bored and even irritated with activities that no longer present a
