Lakers take home PAL Cup basketball
The Hallandale Beach Lakers claimed the PAL Cup in June, following a perfect 12-0 season in the 14 and Under Police Athletic League of Hallandale Beach spring league. The Lakers marched unscathed through the eight-game regular season, then continued to dominate in the PAL of Hallandale Beach Tournament and annual head-to-head battle with the Miramar PAL. But now, at the age of 84, the once tough and hard-nosed leader on the gridiron has turned his attention to a different arena. While his love for the sport of football is still more ardent than ever, he is now a part of a once a year event that has taken south Florida by storm.
