Hey Key-uties! “I wish you all the best of luck with final exams! I know you all will do great! As you know hours were due last month so congratulations to those who are being inducted for the 2020 - 2021 term! Thank you all for your dedication to our club and continuing to serve our community even through these tough times! I hope you all have an amazing summer and I hope to see you next year! <3” Biting with service and howling with spirit,
Hey Key-otes! “We have just completed our final meeting of the school year! Old board and seniors, thank you for all of the hard-work that you’ve put into Key Club. I know you will do amazing things in your future endeavors! Underclassmen, thank you for participating in our meetings, and serving your communities. I hope to see you all at our meetings next school year! Please remember that you have the option to complete service hours over the summer. This is not required, but the hours earned will count towards next school year. Don’t forget you can write a paragraph about your volunteer experience to earn an extra 30 minutes, and have the chance of being featured in our newsletters! Good luck on Final Exams, Coyotes!” Your Bulletin Editor,

May 4th: Division Leadership Team Applications Due May 5th: District Leadership Team Application Q&A May 7th: District Leadership Team Applications Due May 10th: Final General Meeting of School Year May 11th: May DCM May 21st: Induction Video Released May 26th: Last Day of School
To celebrate Stop Food Waste Day on April 28th, members created slides describing two ways they could personally reduce their food waste, and two ways they could encourage others to do the same. Members then presented their slides/ideas to the rest of the club.
Nathalia Cuenco “Learning that today was "Stop Food Waste Day" re-educated me about the problem and helped me be more aware of how I deal with food. Some ways that I learned how to reduce food waste are: to store my food properly to avoid spoilage, and eat only what I can.”
Alyana Arciaga “I truly believe food waste is something we as a nation have to control, and solely get the message out there. I feel as though people aren't aware that it contributes to a bigger problem in our nation.”
Malorie Schwartz “I feel that this was a great experience to learn a bit more about the other members, since online meeting's make it difficult to bond with each other. I feel like this was an overall fun experience, since I enjoy service opportunities where we collaborate together.”
Here are some members who found ways to spread love and kindness to their communities through cards. These are hand-made cards created both digitally and hand-drawn.
Lunch Bag Notes of Encouragement “Instead of only writing words, I tried to make it more eye-catching and interesting by drawing graphics along with the quotes that I put for each note. I even added some puns to make it more light-hearted.” - Nathalia Cuenco
Punny Pictures for Chemo Patients “I made 8 small cards for Lemons of Love’s Chemo Care Packages. The packages offer strength and support to keep patients moving forward and the cards will help put a smile on the patient's faces.” - Katrina Gorospe
Teacher Appreciation Week Cards “Middle/high school students tend to ignore Teacher Appreciation Week since they have multiple different teachers, but every teacher should be appreciated for their hard work.”- Malorie Schwartz
Some of our Key-otes were able to leave their homes, and serve their communities outdoors! Here is how your fellow members are keeping the Key Club spirit alive!
Donating to Las Vegas Town Fridge “The purpose of these locations is to provide food to anyone in need in our community without having to pay for the food. It is to make sure that no one goes hungry and that we can feed as many people as we can in our city together, as a community. We, the volunteers, brought at least 10 different items of food to a location in order to add to the food stock that they have.” - Daman Sandhu
Shine City Project “It was our last day painting the fences around the pool, and I felt accomplished that we were able to finally finish it. Though working outside in the hot sun made the process feel quite time-consuming and exhausting, I still enjoyed bonding and having conversations with my friends and other people.” - Hanae Furugaki
Many of our members have been using Charity Miles as a way to stay healthy, and donate money to our selected organization: March of Dimes!
“My experience while walking/running for Charity Miles was a great and healthy overall service opportunity. Having the opportunity to run around the block and gain hours with friends and family has really been a great bonding experience while also having a good outcome. Having Charity Miles as a tracker as to how much I can run and a goal setter really helped me increase my endurance and stay healthy.” - Collin Wong
“I thought Charity Miles was an innovative and fun way to help out the community while simultaneously being able to promote exercise! I enjoyed being able to watch the leaderboard and, in a way, compete with other members to encourage each other to gain more miles and hours. Especially during this time, it made it much more difficult to go out or participate in any type of volunteerism; this was a wonderful opportunity, in a way, "hit two birds with one stone”.” - Kylie Mao

“What are the benefits?” DCM’s are a great way to learn more about the district, be informed on upcoming events, and engage with other members from our district!
