Jessica Vinterella, DVM, CVA SOUL PURPOSE VETERINARY HOSPICE & HOME EUTHANASIA • DVM - LSU School of Veterinary Medicine • B.S., Biological Sciences University of Southern Mississippi • Chi University - Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist WHAT IS YOUR APPROACH TO PET CARE? I assess and treat my patients based on both their health and happiness, treating the whole body in the least invasive and most effective ways possible. During difficult times, pet owners ask themselves, “What would he want?” I work with pet parents to help answer this question and treat their pets in a stress-free environment. WHAT SETS YOUR PRACTICE APART? We bring comfort and compassion into our patients’ homes, providing hospice care, quality of life consultations, acupuncture, and in-home euthanasia. The in-home experience is tailored to individual pet and parent needs making it much less stressful and allows us to provide continued care for pets through terminal illness, pain management, and aging. DO YOU USE ALTERNATIVE TREATMENTS? We provide in-home acupuncture including dry needling, electroacupuncture, hemoacupuncture, aquapuncture, and Moxabustion. By integrating Western Medicine and Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM), we treat the body as a whole and achieve balance for decreased pain, increased healing, and improved mental and physical well-being. WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT YOUR JOB? Supporting pet parents and guiding them through quality-of-life assessments is the most challenging and rewarding part of my job. It is incredible to see patients thriving through illness and aging with the creative adaptations to their homes and pet parents’ lifestyles. We feel blessed to get to see our patients comfortable and happy at home.
