A national flag is the pride of a country. Today, let us learn about our national flag. The National Flag of India has three colour bands. These are: • Saffron at the top.

• W hite in the middle with a blue chakra (wheel). This wheel has 24 spokes. • Green at the bottom.

Our flag is called the Tiranga which means that it has three colours.

What do the three colours represent? • Saffron represents courage and strength.

• White represents peace. The white colour along with the chakra also represents truth. • Green represents fertility and growth.

The Indian National Flag is rectangular in shape. It is usually made of handspun and handwoven wool, cotton, silk or khadi.

India in Space in 2023

In 2023, India landed on the Moon! Let us learn more about it. All space-related work in India is done by the Indian Space Research Organisation. It is also called the ISRO.

On 14 July, 2023, India launched the third rocket. It was called Chandrayaan-3. Finally, on 23 August, 2023, it landed on the Moon!

The Chandrayaan-3 carries two main things in it—Vikram and Pragyan.

Vikram is that part that landed on the Moon. Pragyan is the vehicle that moved around the Moon.
