YUTHOK NYINGTHIG EMPOWERMENT Traditional Tibetan Medicine and Astro-science are studied and practiced through receiving empowerments, transmissions and teachings. Yuthok Nyingthig is one of the core practices of Tibetan Medicine practitioners. Yuthok Nyingthik means innermost essence of teaching of Yuthok Yonten Gonpo, the father of Tibetan Medicine. It is the system of practice which combines traditional Tibetan medicine and Vajrayana or Tantric practices. As requested by the college, His Eminence Tai Situ Rinpoche graciously accepted and conferred the Yuthok Nyingthik empowerment to the students and staff of Men-Tsee-Khang on 29 August, 2017. The 17th Batch of graduating medical students, who are undergoing their internship practices at various branch clinics, also attended the teaching. More than 400 people gathered for the empowerment. FIELD TRIP STUDY PROGRAMME Field trip study and identification of medicinal plants is one of the most important parts of study in Tibetan medicine at the Tibetan Medical & Astro. College. “Gyued-Shi is a treasure for the whole world. It should not be a bone of contention between two big nations. If a question is asked as to whom does Gyued-Shi belong, then, the sensible answer is Yuthok Yonten Gonpo. He was a Tibetan – not Chinese, not Indian”.
