101 YEARS OF HEALTH CARE SERVICE

Outreach Tour to the East Coast of the USA, and Canada The East Coast of the USA, and Canada outreach tour was conducted from October 1 to November 6, 2017, to commemorate the 101st Anniversary of Men-TseeKhang.

Medicine & Astro-Science were delivered at George Washington University, organized by Dr. Tashi Rabgey, Research Professor and Co-founder of Machik. Lectures and exhibition were also conducted at the International Campaign for Tibet (ICT).

The 4-member team comprising of a Tibetan AstroScience Practitioner (TASP) Mrs. Tsering Choezom, Dr. Tenzin Choying and two Administrative staff, Mr. Kalsang Dawa, Special Task Director, and Mr. Tenzin Tashi, Sales Executive, Men-Tsee-Khang Exports, visited New York, Washington DC and Philadelphia in the US, and Toronto in Canada.

The team provided health and oral-astro consultations, lectures on Tibetan Medicine and Astro-Science, and exhibitions on Sorig products and Thangkas.

Tibetan Astro-Science Practitioner Mrs. Tsering Choezom and Dr. Tenzin Choying rendered a total number of 58 oral-astro consultations and 257 health consultations respectively.

Men-Tsee-Khang would like to thank the Office of Tibet, Washington; Drikung Dharma Centre, Virginia; all the Tibetan Community Associations of New York & New Jersey, Washington DC, Philadelphia, and Toronto; former staff members, host families, and all our wellwishers for their unwavering support during the tour.

Office Manager of Rohini Branch clinic, attended the 1st International AROGYA organized by the Ministry of AYUSH and Ministry of Commerce at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi from December 4 to 6, 2017. Our Director was also in the panel “Building a Brand Strategy: Healing Power of AYUSH for the world”.

In his welcome speech, the Director requested Rinpoche to bestow more of such teachings in the future, especially to the Doctors and Astro-Science Practitioners for the prosperity of Sowa Rigpa for healthier body and healthier mind. The teaching was attended by 300 enthusiastic participants.

HIS EMINENCE YOUNGEY MINGYUR RINPOCHE’S TEACHING ON “HEART OF THE PERFECTION OF WISDOM.”

His eminence toured the Men-Tsee-Khang Museum and Pharmacy Department. His eminence Youngey Mingyur Rinpoche generously donated an amount of Rs. 81,265.00 which will be used for our Poor & Needy Patients Fund.

Dharamsala Men-Tsee-Khang in collaboration with Vikramashila Foundation organized a teaching on “Heart of The Perfection of Wisdom,” shared by Youngey Mingyur Rinpoche on December 11, 2017.

The teaching began with the offering of the Mendrel Tensum by the Director, Mr. Tashi Tsering Phuri, Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Tsewang Tamdin and Chief AstroScience Practitioner, Mrs. Tsering Choezom.

MEN-TSEE-KHANG BOOK Tibetan Buddhist Embryology- A practical Guide to Everyone This book is about the formation and development of human embryo from the perspective of Tibetan Medicine and Buddhism. A new human being appears not merely with the result of conception but is strongly related to karmic relationship between parents and Bardo consciousness, afflictive emotions and the presence of the five elements which are indispensable causes and conditions of conception.

In the mother’s womb, thirty eight different Loong energies play a key role in the development of child and during the gestation period, the shape of an embryo changes into three significant stages.

December 2017 The body and mind relationship, karmic concept, relationship between subtle Loong energy, channels and essential drops are some of the key points in this book that features unique concept of Tibetan Medical Embryology associated with Buddhist Philosophy.

The book also offers a discussion on the mind-body nature and three principle energies of human body within the context of Tibetan medicine, that is Loong as the subtle principle energy of the body and mind which retains the nature of air element, Tripa as the heat energy of the body which is associated with the fire element and hot in nature and Badkan is the fluid energy of the body, associated with the earth and elements and cold in nature.

Tibetan Medical and Astro. College will be closed for Winter Vacation from January 1-February 28, 2018. The college will resume its regular schedule on March 1, 2018.

FRIENDS OF MEN-TSEE-KHANG (FOM) Paying an Annual Membership of Rupees 1,000.00, Well Wishers and Patients can sign up for FRIENDS OF MEN-TSEE-KHANG (FOM). Presently, there are 42 members in Delhi area and 8 members in Mumbai area .

Broadly, there will be three areas of collaborations between Men-Tsee-Khang and the concerned FOM, namely, Events jointly promoted by Men-Tsee-Khang and the concerned FOM; Events primarily promoted by Men-Tsee-Khang and the concerned FOM giving support, and Events primarily promoted by the concerned FOM and Men-Tsee-Khang giving support in terms of human resources.

Presently, one Bank Account is maintained. The membership Account is maintained by city and the concerned FOM may use the funds received from its members.

Men-Tsee-Khang Wellness Camps Our Centenary outreach tours to Australia, USA East Coast/Canada, Singapore, Russia, Europe, Taiwan, USA West Coast and South America conducted between March 23, 2016 to March 23, 2017 had been a great success due to the efforts of various support groups. Above all, the encouragements we received and the experiences we gained, contributed to our initiating another world tour. Our tours to various places in India had also been a great success.

Our outreach tour to USA West Coast (September 15-October 17), USA East Coast & Canada (October 1-November 6) and Europe (October 5-November 16) in 2017 was a great success.

We plan to conduct similar outreach tours (health consultations, oral-astro consultations, lectures/ workshops on Tibetan Medicine & Tibetan Astroscience, exhibition, sale of sorig & health products) every year.

Our upcoming tours are to South America in April/ May, U.K in May and South Africa in September/ October, 2018.
