101st FOUNDING ANNIVERSARY OF MEN-TSEE-KHANG Dharamsala: Men-Tsee-Khang (Tibetan Medical and Astro. Institute of H.H. the Dalai Lama) celebrated its 101st Anniversary on 29 March, 2017 at Men-Tsee-Khang College Hall in Dharamsala. It was a grand celebration for Men-Tsee-Khang as it also marks the 56 years of reestablishing Men-Tsee-Khang by His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama in Dharamsala, India and 101 years of establishing Men-Tsee-Khang in Lhasa, Tibet by His Holiness the 13th Dalai Lama. The Chief Guest, President of Central Tibetan Administration Dr. Lobsang Sangay accompanied by the Special Guest Kalon Choekyong Wangchuk, Department of Health; Chief Justice Commissioner and the Justice Commissioners graced the occasion.

Other guests included Secretaries of various departments of the CTA, Tibetan Parliamentarians, Head of NGO’s, Institutes and monasteries.
The event started with the recitation of Yuthok prayers and serving of the ceremonial tea and sweet rice to the hall packed Centenial Celebration Pg: 1 audience followed by a cultural Centenary Tour Pg: 3 performance by the students and Medical Camp/ Awareness Programme Pg: 4 the staff of the institute. the journey and development of Men-Tsee-Khang since its inception to the present era where the institute proudly presented 592 employees, 105 students and 56 operating branch clinics. He further on gave detailed information on the success of the centenary outreach tours to Taiwan, Singapore, U.S.A, Australia, Canada, Europe, Russia and South America. He also prided about the achievement of Men-TseeKhang in reaching out to the society in terms of Health care services and awareness campaigns. Important schemes were undertaken for the prevention of diseases. A Disease Preventive Committee was set up which takes an active role in the upliftment of public health.
