Government has released grant amount of Rupees 33,332,000.00 (US$ 538,017/-) towards Men-Tsee-Khang (Sowa-Rigpa) College Expansion Project at Bengaluru, under National AYUSH Mission Fund for the year 20162017 which includes central share of 60% and state share of 40%. This is the 1st release of the three installments of equal amount. The speakers of the first day conference were: Dr. A. Raghu, deputy advisor to the Ministry of Ayush; Dr. Rajni Sarin, management committee of the ARSP; Dr. Sunil Joshi, famous Marma therapy specialist; Dr. A.K.S Rawat, researcher; Dr. Premchand Boojhawan, president of Ayurved hospital, Mauritius; Dr. Navin Joshi, MD State senior vice principal, Dehradhun and Dr. Jamyang Dolma, Tibetan medicine Sowa-Rigpa practitioner. Dr. Jamyang Dolma spoke about Tibetan medicine and its contribution across the country. Young students of the AYUSH discipline and the interested citizens of Kolkata were the attendees. The highlight of the 2nd day programme, was the practical training of Marma Chikitsa (the significant aspect of the Ayurveda treatment) by Marma Chikitsa expert Dr.

INTER-EXCHANGE PROGRAMME Universities in USA Six students of Men-Tsee-Khang College from the 17th Medical Batch: Ms. Tenzin Tsomo, Ms. Dickyi Nyima, Ms. Tsering Youdon, Mr. Nyima Tsering, Mr. Tenzin Gelek and Mr. Sangyal Khar took part on an Educational & Interexchange tour. The team visited Emory University, Atlanta, USA from September 23-29, 2017 and University of Minnesota, MN and Northwestern Health Sciences University, Bloomington, USA from September 30 to October 11, 2017. THANK YOU INDIA EVENT Miao, Arunachal Pradesh Miao branch clinic of Men-Tsee-Khang participated in the Thank You India Event organised by the Central Tibetan Administration on 26 January, 2018. Exhibitions were set up showcasing various cultures of Tibet by the Tibetans living in the Miao settlement including Tibetan medicine (Sowa-Rigpa). The Chief Guest on the occasion was the Additional Deputy Commissioner accompanied by the Extra Assistant Commissioner, Zilla Parishad member, and other dignitaries. A medical camp was set up and around 30 interested people received heatlh consultation. Free medicines amounting to Rs. 4924.00 was provided

DIRECTOR’S TOURS Director of Men-Tsee-Khang attended the 1st International Arogya 2017 (Exhibition & Conference on AYUSH & Wellness) at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi from December 4-5, 2017. He was accompanied by Mrs. Tenzin Norlha, head of Quality Assurance Deptt., Dr. Penpa Dhondup, chief resident doctor of MenTsee-Khang Wellness Center, New Delhi and Ms. Tsering Dolma of Rohini Clinic. He attended the conference on December 30/31, 2017 and 50th Founding Anniversary of Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies, Sarnath on January 1, 2018. On January 4th he met Shri. Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary of AYUSH in New Delhi and then left for Jaipur Clinic. FREE MEDICAL CAMP Bodh Gaya, Bihar: Men-Tsee-Khang (Tibetan Medical & Astro. Institute) held a free medical camp at the main teaching ground, Bodh-Gaya during the teaching of His Holiness the Dalai Lama from 1st to 20th Jan 2018. The medical camp was led under the supervision of Special Task Department of Men-Tsee-Khang comprising of 4 doctors and 8 administrative staff. Health care service was provided to 4680 patients and out of which 3264 patients received free health care services. Free medicine amounting to a sum of Rs. 483,192.11 (Rs. Four lakh eighty three thousand one hundred ninety two and eleven paisa) was provided.

January 2018 FRIENDS OF MEN-TSEE-KHANG (FOM) Paying an Annual Membership of Rupees 1,000.00, Well Wishers and Patients can sign up for FRIENDS OF MEN-TSEE-KHANG (FOM). Presently, there are 42 members in Delhi area and 8 members in Mumbai area . Broadly, there will be three areas of collaborations between Men-Tsee-Khang and the concerned FOM, namely, Events jointly promoted by Men-Tsee-Khang and the concerned FOM; Events primarily promoted by Men-Tsee-Khang and the concerned FOM giving support, and Events primarily promoted by the concerned FOM and Men-Tsee-Khang giving support in terms of human resources. Presently, one Bank Account is maintained. The membership Account is maintained by city and the concerned FOM may use the funds received from its members. The perspectives from Tibetan Medicine (Sowa-Rigpa), Buddhist Philosophy, Tibetan Astro-Science, Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha, Homeopathy, Yoga Therapy and Western Medical Science on Treatment of Mental Disorders will be shared on a single platform related to Body, Mind and Life.

Men-Tsee-Khang Wellness Camps Our Centenary outreach tours to Australia, USA East Coast/Canada, Singapore, Russia, Europe, Taiwan, USA West Coast and South America conducted between March 23, 2016 to March 23, 2017 had been a great success due to the efforts of various support groups. Above all, the encouragements we received and the experiences we gained, contributed to our initiating another world tour. Our tours to various places in India had also been a great success. Our outreach tour to USA West Coast (September 15-October 17), USA East Coast & Canada (October 1-November 6) and Europe (October 5-November 16) in 2017 was a great success. We plan to conduct similar outreach tours (health consultations, oral-astro consultations, lectures/ workshops on Tibetan Medicine & Tibetan Astroscience, exhibition, sale of sorig & health products) every year. Our upcoming tours are to South America in April/ May, and South Africa in September/October, 2018.
