5th Emory Tibet Medical Science programme The 5th Emory Tibet Medical Science (ETMS) programme was held at Men-Tsee-Khang College hall from 10 to 14 July, 2017. ETMS is a collaborative and exchange programme between the Emory University School of Medicine and Men-Tsee-Khang College. The topic chosen for this year was “Pregnancy, Fetal Development and Child Birth�. The speakers for the programme were Dr. Mary Segars Dolan (Associate Professor of Gynecology and Obstetrics, Director of Emory Midlife and Menopausal Medicine Clinic) and Dr. Nancy N. Fajman (Associate Professor of Pediatrics, and Co-Director of the Human Development module) from Emory University School of Medicine.

programme. All the sessions were translated into Tibetan by the interpreters from the Library of Tibetan Works and Archives.
Besides the teachings, the two professors had a clinical session with our Chief Doctor at Gangkyi Branch Clinic and a guided tour to Museum, Pharmacy and Quality Assurance Laboratory as well as to the Library of Tibetan Works and Archives. On the afternoon of 14 July, representatives from each class gave their feedback on the programme followed by some delightful dance and song performances. On the whole, the programme was a great success.
The programme began with an opening ceremony in the morning of 10 July, where Men-Tsee-Khang Director Mr. Tashi Tsering Phuri graced the function and addressed the gathering. Over one hundred students of Tibetan medicine and astro-science engaged actively in this five day

He provided health care service according to the traditional Tibetan system of healing to more than 300 interested people in San Diego, Minnesota, and New York and advised on diet and healthy behaviours. He also stressed the importance of the prevention of diseases related to gastric ulcers, kidney problems, arthritis, nervous disorders, liver problems, skin disorders hypertension, diabetes and psychological disturbances. Tibetan Medicine Courses in English Men-Tsee-Khang Tibetan Medical and Astro. College will conduct a 10-day level 1 & 2 Course in English on Tibetan Medicine from 11 to 21 September and 5-day level 3 Course in English on Tibetan Medicine from 22 to 27 September, 2017. 5th Body, Mind and Life Conference
5th Body, Mind and Life conference on “Prevention of Mental Disorder” will be held from 4 to 6 October, 2017 at Men-Tsee-Khang. This 3-day conference will bring together two scholars each from four different perspectives: Buddhist Psychology, Tibetan Medicine, Tibetan Astro-Science and Modern Science. Our Centenary outreach tours to Australia, USA East Coast/Canada, Singapore, Russia, Europe, Taiwan, USA West Coast and South America conducted between March 23, 2016 to March 23, 2017 had been a great success due to the efforts of various support groups. Above all, the encouragements we received and the experiences we gained, contributed to our initiating another world tour. Our tours to various places in India had also been a great success. We are conducting similar outreach tours (health consultations, oral-astro consultations, lectures/ workshops on Tibetan Medicine & Tibetan AstroScience, exhibition, sale of sorig & health products) to commemorate the 101 Years of Men-Tsee-Khang in Public Health Service. We have formed 6 groups who will visit USA East Coast/Canada, USA West Coast, Europe, Nordic Countries, United Kingdom and South America. Each group will comprise of 4-members (1 doctor, 1 Astro-Science Practitioner and 2-administrative staff). We are currently in the initial stage of planning/scheduling the tour dates.
