MEDICAL CAMP

Dharamsala A medical camp was carried out by Men-Tsee-Khang from 3-4 March, 2018 post the teaching of His Holiness the Dalai Lama on the Jataka Tales followed by a teaching on Tsongkhapa's In Praise of Dependent Origination (tendrel toepa) at the Tsuglakhang Main Temple, Dharamsala. The team comprised of a Tibetan Astro-Science Practitioner, three doctors, and six staff members. The doctors and Tibetan Astro-Science Practitioner provided 164 health consultations and 6 oral-astro consultations respectively. Herbal products and books by and about His Holiness the Dalai Lama were displayed to the public. Charity amounting to Rs. 21,292.66 was given to the poor and needy patients. March, 2018 at Men-Tsee-Khang college hall. The teaching was extracted from the 10th chapter of Yonten Rinpoche Zoe (Treasury of Precious Qualities) authored by Rigzin Jigmey Lingpa. Apart from the teaching, Rinpoche preached knowledge on the most essential subjects of Buddha Dharma and encouraged the audience to indulge more positive virtues in their day to day practice. Rinpoche also gave practical sessions on General Yoga, Gegsel Duetsi Gyatso (Ocean of Nectar Dissipating Obstacles) and practice of Samatha. Men-Tsee-Khang college students, interested doctors and astro-science practitioners were present at the teaching. WORKSHOP Workshop on Tibetan Medicine Men-Tsee-Khang organized a workshop on Tibetan Medicine from 12-23 March, 2018 at Men-Tsee-Khang college hall. The workshop aimed to provide theoretical and clinical observation in accordance with Tibetan Medicine. The ten participants were medical professionals from Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil who attended the morning class carried out by the esteem speakers Dr. Pema Tsetso, Dr. Namdol Lhamo, College Lecturers; Dr. Tenzin Lhundup, Dr. Sonam Wangmo, and Dr. Sonam Dolkar Oshoe, Research and Development Department.
