15-Day Level I, II, III Course in English on Tibetan Medicine Men-Tsee-Khang Tibetan Medical & Astro. (Sowa-Rigpa) College organized Level 1, 2 and 3 courses in English on Tibetan Medicine from 11 to 27 September, 2017.

The participants were taken on a tour to the MenTsee-Khang Museum, Pharmacy and Quality Assurance Laboratory guided by our faculty members. They also experienced a one day clinical observation session with doctors at our outpatient clinics at Mcleod Ganj and Gangchen Kyishong. VISIT OF GERMAN AMBASSADOR AT MEN-TSEE-KHANG CULTURAL CENTRE, LADAKH Dr. Martin Ney, the Ambassador of the German Embassy in India, accompanied by his wife Dr. Med Gabriele Ney and Annett Baessler from the German Embassy visited Men-Tsee-Khang Leh, Ladakh Branch on Thursday, 14 September, 2017. The Dignitaries were well received by Ms. Tenzin Gaiphel, Development Manager, MTK Ladakh branch Manager Mr. Tenzin Nyandak and staff.
The Level 1 and Level 2 courses aimed to construct a basic foundation on Tibetan Medicine. Each level comprised of twenty sessions with each session lasting for 75 minutes. The Level 3 course is a specialized course which offers two parallel and optional courses under the respective themes: “Healthy Mind, Healthy Body” or “Materia Medica and Pharmacology.” Participants from various countries like USA, Canada, Mexico, France, Australia, Austria, Thailand, Vietnam and Taiwan attended the three levels of courses with full enthusiasm and active participation. Nine college faculty members and a doctor from the Materia Medica Department were the resource persons for the sessions.

promoting the rich Tibetan Culture and Tradition and also for rendering relentless health care services to the remote areas. The German Embassy has been a great support to MenTsee-Khang, especially in rendering Mobile Health Care services to the remote nomadic areas of Ladakh. This year, it funded 10 heating systems for the Men-TseeKhang Culture Centre. MEN-TSEE-KHANG HEALTH CAMPS Dharamsala A 2-day medical camp was conducted on 3 and 4 September, 2017 after the four-day teachings on Buddhapalita’s Commentary on the Fundamental Wisdom of the Middle Way (drel-pa Buddhapalita) at the request of a group from Asia including Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam at the Main Temple, Dharamsala. The medical team consisted of 1 Astro-science Practitioner, 3 doctors, and seven Administrative staff members. The doctors and Astro-science Practitioner provided 197 health consultations, 6 Kam-Khab (acupunctures) and 10 oral-astro consultations. Herbal products and books by and about H.H. the Dalai Lama were displayed to the public. Charity medicines amounting to Rs. 16,318.06 was given to the poor and needy patients.

VISITORS IN THE MONTH OF SEPTEMBER, 2017. 15 members of Manjushri Education Association from Singapore visited Men-Tsee-Khang on 1 September. 8 members from Group Arts of Vie from France visited Men-Tsee-Khang on 8 September. 7 members from AA Canada visited Men-Tsee-Khang on 14 September. 8 members from Anette Abely visited Men-TseeKhang on 20 September. 10 adults from South Africa headed by Klasie visited Men-Tsee-Khang on 22 September. 17 members from Wendy WV visited Men-TseeKhang on 22 September. 25 students of Sophia School from South Korea visited Men-Tsee-Khang on 28 September.
Mumbai will be the next city to form FOM. We will request Friends and Well Wishers in other cities too, before long. Broadly, there will be three areas of collaborations between Men-Tsee-Khang and the concerned FOM, namely, Events jointly promoted by Men-Tsee-Khang and the concerned FOM; Events primarily promoted by Men-Tsee-Khang and the concerned FOM giving support, and Events primarily promoted by the concerned FOM and Men-Tsee-Khang giving support in terms of human resources. Presently, one Bank Account is maintained. The membership Account is maintained by city and the concerned FOM may use the funds received from its members. For the benefit of all FOM, we have created an Email account. There are some postings from Men-Tsee-Khang relating to the FOM in Delhi. Paying an Annual Membership of Rupees 1,000.00, Well Wishers and Patients in Delhi have come together to form FRIENDS OF MEN-TSEE-KHANG (FOM). Presently, there are 30+ members, and memberships are coming in.

UPCOMING EVENTS Men-Tsee-Khang Wellness Camp, Delhi Men-Tsee-Khang in collaboration with Friends of Men-Tsee-Khang will host a 5-Day wellness Camp from 1-5 November, 2017 at Men-Tsee-Khang branch clinic in Nizamuddin, Delhi. The programme will include Health and oralastro consultations, Exhibition, lectures and Panel Discussions on Sowa-Rigpa (Tibetan medicine) and Astro-science. (Celebrating 101 Years of Public Health Service) Our Centenary outreach tours to Australia, USA East Coast/Canada, Singapore, Russia, Europe, Taiwan, USA West Coast and South America conducted between March 23, 2016 to March 23, 2017 had been a great success due to the efforts of various support groups. Above all, the encouragements we received and the experiences we gained, contributed to our initiating another world tour. Our tours to various places in India had also been a great success. We are conducting similar outreach tours (health consultations, oral-astro consultations, lectures/ workshops on Tibetan Medicine & Tibetan Astroscience, exhibition, sale of sorig & health products) to commemorate the 101 Years of Men-TseeKhang in Public Health Service. We have formed 7 groups who will visit USA East Coast/Canada, USA West Coast, Europe, Nordic Countries, United Kingdom, Japan and South America. Each group will comprise of 4-members (1 doctor, 1 Astro-science Practitioner and 2-administrative staff).
