»THE PLACE I DREAM ABOUT!« These were the words used by baron Dienersberg to describe Terme Dobrna. The story about Terme Dobrna is a story of exceptional nature, inspiration and a passion for life. It starts deep down underground and springs up in the form of the purest water whose healing properties and beneficial effects had already been admired by the ancients Celts and Romans. The writer Karl May came here to find inspiration for his work in the peace and quiet of the River Dobrnica valley; Napoleon’s brother sought health for his soldiers in the famous baths, and many more.

HOTEL VITA **** Vita means life Hotel Vita is situated at the entrance of the Spa Complex. During your stay, you will be inspired by the wonderful nature, an energy boasting spa park, many walking and cycling trails and the beauties of the area and its surroundings. Hotel Vita is the newest of all Terme Dobrna hotels, and it offers everything under one roof. Excellent cuisine will leave you greatly satisfied, and you can pamper yourself at massage centre La Vita Spa & Beauty, thermal water swimming pools, and the Sauna Land. After your visit to our Medical Centre you will feel great as you will know you have done something for your health. The hotel also provides seminar rooms. Rooms include: telephone, TV, safety deposit box, minibar, toilet, bathroom, hairdryer, and air-conditioning. Wireless internet access is available free of charge.
DEPANDANCE VILA HIGIEA **** Hygiea was the Goddess of good health – for your good health and wellbeing Vila Higiea was built in 1855 and has managed to keep its original and traditional touch in spite of the renovation work. It boasts great comfort, which is further emphasised with the great views of the forests and the spa park. It is here that you can calm your mind and be thoroughly regenerated. Vila Higiea has a wine cellar where you can enjoy a wide range of Slovenian wines, local culinary specialities and a special Bacchus feast. Vila Higiea is located approximately 50m from Hotel Vita.
Rooms include: telephone, Wi-Fi, minibar and bathroom with a shower and hairdryer. The rooms on the first floor were renovated in the Feng Shui principle in 2007. You can use a computer with an internet connection in the lobby.
HOTEL PARK *** Park – nature and energy Hotel Park is great for everyone who wants to spend free time in a green and clean environment surrounded by an exceptional spa park and forests. For relaxation and special moments for couples head to the Sauna Studio Tisa and go to the hotel restaurant when you need a great meal. Hotel Park even welcomes your pets (a limited number of rooms; pets are not allowed in the restaurant).

SPA CENTRE 1624 »ZDRAVILIŠKI DOM« Spa Centre - the spring of vitality The Health Resort in its core dates from the year 1624. The central thermal spring with healing thermal water is situated here. The marble baths are a real speciality, not only in Slovenia, but around the world as well. The water circulates and constantly conveys to the body fresh oxygen and healing effects. Within the hotel are situated several smaller halls (Karl May, Hoyos, Napoleon), and the large health hall ideal for seminars, conferences, performances and weeding receptions. Spa centre is 300 meters far from Hotel Vita.

FANGO AND PEAT
The ancient Celts and Romans already knew the warm spring water in Dobrna. In the year 1403, the water was used the first time for health purposes. Since the year 1542, the thermal water in Dobrna is known as an ideal means in treating gynaecological and urological illnesses, rheumatic, and illnesses similar to rheumatism, for healing diseases and motor system injuries.
Fango is an inorganic peloid, decaying volcanic aggregate named ‘bentonite’. Ground bentonite is mixed with thermal water. Fango has a heat and mechanical effect. It accelerates the metabolism, medical and reparatory processes in tissues, softens, and reduces scars. Fango can be used as muddy compress or a bath and is recommended for pains in the joints, spine, and loins, with muscle pains and rheumatic illnesses. It also increases sweating, the elimination of waste products, and encourages detoxification of the body.
The thermal water is very curative for patients with peripheral vein illnesses, for patients with neurological difficulties, for all with diabetes, heightened blood pressure, and minor heart and respiratory illnesses. Due to the calcium ions the water contains, the Dobrna thermal water acts as anti-inflammatory, and anti-allergy with all chronic inflammation of the digestion and urinary organs. It as well accelerates the purging of water from the body. Indirectly it helps in discharging kidney stones and gallstones from the body.
Peat is an organic peloid of decaying plant remains and contains small doses of estrogen hormones. It has heath, chemical and mechanical effects. Like the fango, it reduces and softens scars. Baths with Peat are recommended for stimulation of the described functions of the organism and for strengthening the body’s defence capabilities with reduced mobility of the joints and pains of rheumatic and degenerative origin.
