INSPIRING PROVERBS AND QUOTES All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the [wo]man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. ~2 Tim. 3:16-17 NKJV

Answer me, Lord, out of the goodness of your love; in your great mercy turn to me. Do not hide your face from your servant; answer me quickly, for I am in trouble. (Ps. 69:16-17)

You hold me by my right hand. You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will take me into glory. Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. (Ps. 73:23-26)

Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth. (John 4:2324)

My heart is not proud, Lord, my eyes are not haughty; I do not concern myself with great matters or things too wonderful for me. But I have calmed and quieted myself, I am like a weaned child with its mother; like a weaned child I am content....put your hope in the Lord both now and forevermore. (Ps. 131)

A LOVELY SPIRIT/INNER BEAUTY

MAINTAINING A LOVELY SPIRIT WHILE AT WORK Since you are really slaves of Christ, you must do with all your heart what God wants. Do your work, and be happy to do it. Work as though it is the Lord you are serving, not just an earthly master [employer]. Remember that the Lord will give everyone a reward for doing good. ~Eph. 6:6-8 ERV

I

t is not always easy being a Christian

and godly woman, especially today. There is much temptation to cause us

to lose our composure or dignity if we’re not careful. (Not only at home but in the work place too). Following are some situations and tips to help us keep our balance and self-control so we can also glorify God in the work place and be even more blessed and favored.

•

GETTING PROMOTED

The best way to get promoted on the job, besides prayer, is to have zeal. (There is an article in this book in Radiant Vessel on how to develop this important trait). Most employers want employees with enthusiasm and will promote them even over those with more skill. So always be hope-filled and zealous.

NATURAL/HERBAL GOD-GIVEN REMEDIES Fruit trees of all kinds will grow on both banks of the river. Their leaves will not wither, nor will their fruit fail....Their fruit will serve for food and their leaves for healing. ~Ezek. 47:12

OIL OF OREGANO

A

bout ten years ago, I was suf fering from extreme nausea. Before and after I would eat, it worsened causing me to abhor my meals. I eventually made an appointment with a gastroenterologist. After several tests, one involving minor surgery, I was informed that I had H. Pylori. I was told that if left untreated, it could lead to stomach ulcers and even cancer. So, after six weeks of intense treatments with antibiotics and antacids, I was finally cured. Well, not too long ago I began to have the same symptoms. Yet, being the naturalist that I am, I first sought the solution in herbal medicines. Once I figured out that I most likely was suffering, once again, from H. Pylori, I rushed to my local health store and grabbed a bottle of Oil of Oregano P73. I immediately took a few drops and instantly felt better. That night and the next day, I administered a few more drops, following the directions on the label. Within the next twenty-four

18

hours or less I was completely healed and have not suffered from the nausea since. Wow! God is good is all I can say! I am so relieved that I did not have to go back to my doctor and spend thousands of dollars trying to get healed of something I was healed of in only a couple of days by using a God-given remedy. Also, I am thoroughly elated that I did not have to take antibiotics. According to reports they usually lead to yeast infections and a suppressed immune system, which I’ve experienced in the past, and it is a nightmare within itself. So, if you suffer from H.Pylori, as it is a very common illness, I encourage you to try Oil of Oregano. I personally use the liquid extract, Oil of Oregano Super Strength P73.

FAST FACS ABOUT OREGANO OIL Oil of Oregano aka Origanum vulgare is also know as wild marjoram, winter marjoram, mountain mint, winter sweet, oregano. • Part used: entire plant. • Medicinal properties: Aromatic, pungent, stomachic, tonic, stimulant, carminative, diaphoretic, and emmenagogue. • Description and uses: Very strengthening to the stomach and increases appetite. The oil dropped in the hollow of an aching tooth will stop the pain. Will expel gas from the stomach and bowels. Very helpful in dyspepsia. Good for rheumatism, colic, nausea, and neuralgia. ~Excerpted from Back to Eden by Jethro Kloss, Lotus Press •

PLEASE NOTE: Do your own research on herbal medicines and check with your doctor before ceasing or beginning any prescribed or over-the-counter medications, especially if you have any type of health ailment. I am not a medical doctor but I prefer and utilize herbal medicines after taking care to research them. Also, some herbal medicines may cause the blood sugar level to drop or rise, so be careful with them, especially if you have diabetes or low blood sugar. As for those herbals that do cause changes in my blood sugar, I take them sparingly or with food. TGWG

WOMEN OF THE BIBLE Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all. Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised. ~Prov. 31:10; 29-30

S

ome not so pleasant things that hap pened to Mary Magdalene remind me of a horror movie in particular I unfortunately witnessed over thirty years ago, the Exorcist. According to the Bible Jesus drove seven demons out of her and she never stopped thanking him. As he was soon to be crucified, she took a very expensive bottle of perfume, a year’s wages it is recorded, and anointed him with it. Because of that, her generosity will always be remembered throughout the world and in eternity. Her act of kindness reminds us of the most important person or thing in life, Jesus. She encourages us to get our priorities in order. Yes, we are called to serve but at the same time we are called to show hospitality and she knew what came first. Yet today so many of us are busy doing good and trying to do good that we may forget who or what is most important and who we are doing it for.

for the church, but overall, I was too busy for God. I am not proud of it, but I am grateful to God that he helped me to get my priorities in order. Today, the first thing I do in the morning is to sit down with my Bible and listen to the Words of Christ. Today, we may not be able to literally sit at the feet of Jesus as did Mary, and I have no doubt many of us would and cheerfully would also anoint him with precious perfume as well. Yet, when we spend private time alone with him and the Word each day, and eagerly read it, it is pretty close. (Portions excerpted from the Life Application Bible study notes).

I recall just over a decade ago that I desired to serve God and did minimal things STRENGTHS, ACCOMPLISHMENTS, AND LESSONS FROM HER LIFE

• Perhaps the one person who understood and accepted Jesus’ coming death. • Learned when to listen and when to act. • The busyness of serving God can become a barrier to knowing him personally. • Small acts of obedience and service have widespread effects. “When she poured perfume on my body, she did it to prepare me for burial. I tell you the truth, wherever this gospel is preached throughout the world what she has done will also be told, in memory of her.” ~Matt. 26:12, 13 NIV TGWG

POEMS FOR GODLY WOMEN GOOD ENOUGH

IT DOESN’T MATTER

In the world you are..... never pretty enough never smart enough never rich enough never tall enough never skinny enough never strong enough never good enough... Forget the world and follow Jesus. With Jesus you are.... pretty enough smart enough rich enough tall enough skinny enough strong enough and good enough. Come to me all who are weary and burdened and i will give you rest. (Matt. 11:28)

It doesn’t matter if you’re down in a dump, God will come and lift you up. It doesn’t matter if people slander your name, God will lift you from the shame. It doesn’t matter if you’re scared or afraid, God will encourage you and make you brave. It doesn’t matter if you’re sick and illing, God will come and give you healing. It doesn’t matter if you’re lost or gone astray, God will come and show you the way. It doesn’t matter if you’re broke or broken, God will take care of it, for He has spoken! These are promises of God to all Christians. Believe it and receive it! Poems written by TT aka Terri Temple

MOMENT OF FAITH

BENEFITS OF BEING GODLY It is God’s will that you should be sanctified [made holy, set apart]. ~1 Thess. 4:3

S

ometimes, even as Christians and godly women, we may lose sight of why we seek to be godly. Life is short but the temptation to sin is long. So, in the process, we being human and in the flesh, have a tendency to stumble and sometimes to fall. We are bombarded with negative and wicked images on a daily basis that tell us that our aspiration is no fun and perhaps a waste of time. We may struggle with family issues that cause us to doubt God’s good and perfect plan for our lives. We sometimes get ill and wonder if God really cares about us. And to top it off, there is so much complacency and division within the church it makes us wonder if we are on the right path and if is it worth following. Because of all of these distractions we sometimes forget why we want to be godly and sometimes are tempted to give up the struggle. Therefore, it is good for us to be reminded why we strive for such a high goal anyway and may say, what’s the big deal, why don’t I just settle with being like everyone else? Well, besides the fact that God is most worthy of our best, here are a few more solid reasons we should continue in our goal to be godly and to be Christ-like. It is the right thing to do. So we won’t live in darkness and deception. • It is the best thing to do. • •

24

So we can have the abundant life Jesus promised to those who obey his Words. • God is faithful and will not fail us. • It is just. • God told us to be godly and holy. • Because God, the one who desires that we be godly, is our creator. • We desire the best life possible. • God loves us and has taken good care of us our entire lives. • It is how we get our prayers answered. • We need God. • This life is temporary while eternity is forever. • The struggles we face down here cannot compare to the rewards we will receive in heaven. •

Ladies, in closing and in reality, the benefits of following Jesus and being godly is endless. When we get spiritually weak, and we all do from time to time, sometimes the only thing we can do is to get on our knees and to ask God to restore our desire to be godly. God is love and loves to help us. He always has and always will. So never give up on being godly because it is always worth it now, and forever more. TGWG

Terri Temple is the founder of The Godly Woman’s Guide, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to encourage and empower godly women. She knows and understands hardship due to the fact that she was born into deep poverty, was not supposed to live at birth, and faced many odds against her. Yet, today she is a Christian author, magazine publisher, public speaker, TV show host, producer, entrepreneur, humanitarian, and devout Christian. Her husband is a preacher and they have been married for three decades. Learn more on her website.
