Living God
WE RECOMMEND
Welcome to the latest edition of our reach magazine. Almost every day within our UK office we are in the privileged position of hearing stories from viewers who share how their lives have been impacted after watching a CBN programme. We are aware that these changes are only possible through a personal relationship with Jesus and gaining an understanding of the Father heart of God. Throughout the Bible there are countless stories and illustrations of ordinary people with complex needs and situations who have encountered the living God and whose lives, through faith & obedience were turned around. I am so glad that today the gospel is good news to all people. God has made it possible for CBN to play an active part in sharing & broadcasting stories and testimonies. These are having a significant impact in the UK, Europe and globally. The ministry of CBN Europe is solely funded by the generosity of our UK & European donors and partners for which we are so grateful because we couldn’t do what we do without you. As you read this issue, I pray that you will gain a greater understanding of the extent of the love that the Heavenly Father has for you. It is our hope that you will practically experience a greater dimension of what it is to walk in the fullness of His plans for you. There is so much more for each of us to experience, so everyday learn to take steps of obedience and listen to His voice. Every blessing,
Allen Carter, CBN UK Prayer Centre & Office Coordinator

TESTIMONIES “I have witnessed the difference Superbook has made to our lives, not just as a form of entertainment but as a life altering tool changing the destiny of our youngest son eternally, and to express my gratitude in a few sentences would never be enough. Now 6 years old he is a prayer warrior. Faith filled words come out of his mouth and he still alongside his almost 13 year old brother enjoys the many episodes of Superbook. Thank you God bless you and prosper your ministry and increase all you put your hand to.” From Rhonda “Gordon gave a word of knowledge about a left kidney being healed. I had suffered for 20 years with a failing kidney, but after hearing Gordon I knew it was for me and at my next results, it came back that my left kidney function had increased by 4 points. I give God all the glory!” From Audrey Send your testimony to us: PO Box 700, Hereford, HR1 9EW, UK or email to testimony@700club.tv

Learning To Depend On God The promises of Abraham are ours, by faith. The more we think we know, and the more we rely on our own wisdom, the more we miss out. God delights in revealing secret things to the foolish. As Jesus says in Matthew 11:25, “I thank You, Father … that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and have revealed them to babes.”

I remember preaching in India when I didn’t know how to preach to Hindus or Muslims. That was good, because God had to step in. One Sunday, we had been on the road since 8 a.m., travelling among small churches in a remote area of Andhra Pradesh. It was so hot— about 115 degrees—that the breeze felt like a hairdryer. I had preached in four churches and we were on our way to the fifth when we got lost late that afternoon. I was tired, hot, and ready to give up. Thinking I knew what I was doing, I said, “Let’s just stop.” So we did. And a person came running out of a building, saying, “I’m so glad you’re here!” We discovered that a group had heard about us and didn’t know how to contact us—yet they had been waiting three hours in the heat for us to come! I felt as if I had nothing left to give, so I asked God for a message. He answered, “Tell them the promises of Abraham are theirs.” I argued, “God, they are Hindus. They’ve never heard of Abraham and won’t know those promises.” He spoke to my heart again: “Tell them the promises of Abraham are theirs.”
“We simply must be willing, hungry and thirsty, like little babes crying out to God, and He will reveal His glory.” At the time, I didn’t know India has the second highest population of Muslims in the world. In this little village was a Muslim girl who had heard about Jesus and came to find out about Him. When I said the promises of Abraham were for her, she understood exactly what that meant— and she wanted all of those blessings. She was filled with the Holy Spirit to such an incredible degree that light literally started coming from her face. It was an anointed moment, and I was glad I’d lost my argument. We simply must be willing, hungry and thirsty, like little babes crying out to God—and He will reveal His glory. God bless you. Scripture is quoted from the NKJV. This teaching was given during a CBN staff chapel meeting.
So I read them Galatians 3, saying, “You’re inheritors. You get what God promised Abraham.”
“The more we think we know, and the more we rely on our own wisdom, the more we miss out.”

Global impact LOOK AT WHAT YOU ARE DOING AROUND THE WORLD During a recent month: FRENCH AFRICA
A ministry partner, supported by Orphan’s Promise, offered approximately 19,500 meals to children. Also, through various outreach activities held by our CBN centres, the Gospel was presented to 19,687 people. And the prayer centres received 20,066 phone calls, emails, letters, online chats, and text messages, resulting in 1,729 people responding to the Gospel message. INDONESIA
More than 10,420 patients were treated in 24 medical outreaches throughout Indonesia.
THAILAND
CBN organised a seminar for 51 pastors and lay leaders from 27 local churches who will be assisting with our medical missions throughout the next year. One attendee at the seminar said, “I’m thankful to CBN for the expression of interest to care for local churches and the ministry they are doing. … You care about us and you really have a heart to respond to … the needy.”
Saving Baby Alfin
Cleft lip surgery helps hungry infant thrive Her baby was starving and Yanti couldn’t do anything about it. No matter what she tried, little Alfin’s cleft lip and palate kept him from getting enough nourishment. She and her husband Eko even bought a costly artificial palate and special bottle, but it didn’t work. With Eko’s meager income, they couldn’t afford an operation. Yanti cried as she watched her baby growing thinner. One day, Eko read in the newspaper that CBN was providing free cleft surgeries in their little town in Indonesia. Soon, Alfin’s cleft lip and palate were repaired! Now Yanti exclaims, “He is so much better now, he can eat and drink properly!” And Eko adds, “I can’t describe how grateful I am!”
Little Alfin is now a happy, healthy baby.
Keeping a Family Together Mother receives help to provide for children
Adimir is reunited with his family.
The six-year-old was heartbroken. Adimir and his sisters had been in the Kyrgyzstan orphanage for two months, and he missed his mother terribly. She was still living; she was just too poor to feed her children. In fact, Adimir’s mother grandmother were unemployed, about to lose their house. So grandmother reluctantly took the to the children’s home.
and and the kids
Sadly, many children are in orphanages due to poverty. That’s why CBN’s Orphan’s Promise developed a programme called Keeping Families
Together, and our team went to work with Adimir’s family. Partnering with a local church, Orpahn’s Promise rented an apartment for the family, while helping the women find work. Within a few weeks, Adimir was reunited with his family! Best of all, they are now active in the church and becoming financially independent again. Thank you for rescuing struggling families!

Art For Change
CBN Europe staff and Orphan’s Promise Ukraine team working together.
Changing the lives of vulnerable children through art? How is that even possible? Well, with God all things are possible! Rudi and Jenny have been passionately involved with an orphanage in the Ukraine and decided to raise funds for vulnerable children who have been affected and displaced by the war happening in East Ukraine. The funds raised would pay for a summer camp, bringing joy, fun and hope to these children. So where to start? Often, the best place to start is opening your hands to see what God has already provided - and start using it. Rudi, being a talented artist, used the talent God gave him and painted the faces of the children at the orphanage - and took pictures of
the children holding the artwork they created themselves. Rudi and his wife Jenny organised an art exhibition in London and invited many of his friends to visit. Our Orphan’s Promise team from the Ukraine shared about the situation in the Ukraine and how practical support is making a life-changing difference to orphans and families in a time of conflict. During the event, over £2500 was raised to bless orphans during this summer’s camp. A huge thanks to Rudi and Jenny, and all CBN partners who have made this possible! Hearing God’s Voice
There are many who think they are hearing from God when maybe they are not. How annoying are the superspiritual who always say, “God told me this -- God told me that -- God told me this other.” It seems that their every thought is a revelation from God. God does not customarily operate that way. He speaks to us, but He does not chatter away, day in and day out, the way some people claim He does. This has been my experience, and it is the concept that is in accordance with the biblical record. The Bible says that we can tell if someone is a prophet by seeing if what he has said comes to pass (see Deuteronomy 18:22). That is a very pragmatic test, and it works. A friend who purported to hear from God told me, “My second child is going to be a boy. God told me.” His second child was a girl. He said, “Well, God told me that it was not the second child who was going to be a boy, but the third child.” His third child was a girl, too. At that point I determined that brother was not hearing from God. It was clear: He made a statement, supposedly from God, that did not come to pass. There is no shortcut to spiritual understanding. You have to learn to walk with God and to know His voice, otherwise you will mistake your own voice for His. You even may be fooled by the voice of Satan, or you may hear the clamouring voice of the world. It
is so easy to get these voices mixed up. Usually, God speaks to us in a still, small, quiet voice (see I Kings 19:11-13). It takes time, prayer and waiting on God to hear His voice.
“The ultimate is not merely to get direction from God; the ultimate is to know God.” Nor does God scatter His pearls around recklessly. He said, “You will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul” ( Deuteronomy 4:29). God does not reveal Himself to every casual onlooker who would take sacred things and play with them like toys. I have known some adults who treated the gifts of God as if they were just little baubles to play with. To please God and to receive counsel from Him, people must be both determined and serious. How do we succeed in hearing God’s voice? By spending time with God. The ultimate is not merely to get direction from God; the ultimate is to know God. God can make it difficult for us to get into His presence because He wants to see if we truly will expend the spiritual energy and exercise necessary to do
so. Will we stop certain sins? Will we get rid of things that hinder us? Will we truly seek Him with all of our hearts? Some people only want a quick fix; “God, tell me how to make money on this business deal, please. See You next time!” And then that is the end of it. But God wants to be treated with
the reverence and deference that His nature warrants. He wants to change us, not merely give us quick answers to difficult problems. We will never be changed unless we come into His presence, spend time with Him, and allow Him to purify us from our sinful nature.

The One Thing The story of Mary and Martha tells me a lot about the character of Jesus and the heart of God.
“Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “You are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed-or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.” Luke 10 v 41 – 42 NIV I really love this part of scripture. As a woman, I love to host tea parties; I rush around getting just the right napkins, the ‘nice’ clotted cream and pulling out the most elegant teapots. And I think this makes Jesus smile. I think he genuinely loves to watch me ‘play house’ and prepare the way for my guests to have a really great time. But when my guests arrive, the most important thing for me to do is to be with them. Yes, they came for the tea and the cake and the scones, but they mainly came for me. The story of Mary and Martha tells me a lot about the character of Jesus and the heart of God.
18 www.cbneurope.com
It tells me that God knows me intimately. In the above verse, Jesus uses Martha’s name twice in a row, which commonly is a way of using someone’s name in a tender and endearing way. He is locking eyes with her. He’s gently trying to get her attention so that she stops what she is doing and just listens to his voice. He is not angry with her for rushing around trying to prepare things for him; I can even imagine him smiling at her ways. Friends, God knows your ways. He knows how you try to serve him and how you strive to be all that you can be. But Jesus came for you. He is not overly fussed with our ‘doing’; he is overly fussed by us. Charmaine Hibberd is an enthusiastic Jesus follower, who works for CBN Europe and enjoys writing and interior design.

God Will Answer You There is good news for you today! The Bible tells us that if we call unto God, He will answer us. Jeremiah 33:3 (MSG) says, This is God’s Message, the God who made earth, made it livable and lasting, known everywhere as God: “Call to me and I will answer you. I’ll tell you marvelous and wondrous things that you could never figure out on your own.” God knows everything. He knows what we need before we know and He even knows what we are going to pray before we pray it.
