Nomads vs Newtown programme

CAN NOMADS CLOSE THE GAP AT THE TOP? Tonight’s game will see The Nomads look to close the gap at the top of the table to The New Saints following our recent great run of form which has seen us climb to second in the table. Having won our last five league games without conceding a single goal, our run has been outstanding, no more evident than with Andy Firth’s dramatic stoppage time penalty save against Penybont last weekend and since arriving at Deeside Firth has now kept a total of eight clean sheets in 11 league games. Newtown come to Deeside on the back of a patchy run - since their success in Europe earlier in the campaign, they have picked up just three victories in the league, most recently in a 4-1 win over 10-man Pontypridd just two weeks ago, but since lost out to Cardiff Met last weekend. The last time The Robins visited Deeside saw them pick up a surprise 2-0 victory in a game which saw Nomads dominate but somehow lose out to two goals on the break so Neil Gibson will no doubt be looking to avoid a similar fate to that of Craig Harrison in last season’s fixture.
