THE PRESIDENT’S LETTER
Dear members, Happy New Year to all. I sincerely hope that 2022 is an opportunity to start anew and we can put the pandemic, heat domes, forest fires, atmospheric rivers, and floods behind us. Although the Club has not been immune to the challenges of late, overall, we have been very fortunate.
Therefore, the Planning and Facilities Committee, Finance Committee, and the Board have approved a renovation of the Strathcona Room and Quilchena Terrace to begin this January. The preliminary construction schedule is 4 months, as we hope the space will be ready for the ever-popular Mother's Day Brunch.
I want to thank the members for cooperating with our vaccination and mask policies - it is sincerely appreciated. I expect that we will receive an update on the vaccination mandate soon, as it is set to expire on January 25th.
Some noise can be expected during demolition. However, the overall project should have minimal impact on the members as it is removed from the rest of the Club.
Thank you to the staff, management, and the Finance Committee, who worked hard to control the Club's operating expenses in 2021. Members will receive a complete financial update in the Annual Report. In the meantime, I will note that Food and Beverage operations exceeded revenue projections much of last year, and program registration returned to pre-pandemic levels this fall. With an increase in member participation and strong financial results heading into the new year, we are optimistic that revenues will return to normal in 2022. However, with the COVID crisis still a major factor, management had to consider the uncertain outcome of the pandemic in preparing the 2022 Operating Plan. It is a solid plan and I'm pleased to report that there is no monthly dues increase this year. I am also happy to share that the Club is once again debt free. Considerable interest in new membership gave us the ability to expedite our repayment plan and now we can begin saving for future major capital. Looking to the future, the Executive Committee has begun working on their mandate to start preliminary long-range strategic planning for the potential redevelopment of the existing Tennis Building, outdoor courts, surface parking, and Club entrance. Speaking of construction, the Board appreciates that Arbutus 2020 was quite disruptive for our members, as it encompassed most of the Club's facilities. Fortunately, we are now fully able to enjoy the amazing results in addition to the equally impressive, updated Lounge. But, like any renovation, if you don't renovate everywhere, the other areas stand out that much more. And that is the case with our catering rooms on the third floor. The space is very worn, as it was last renovated 15 years ago and is long overdue for an upgrade.

The Bark w i n t e r 2022
Speaking of our premier facilities, The Arbutus Club has once again been selected as a Platinum Club of the World. Platinum Club status is the pinnacle of recognition for private clubs around the globe and is revered by industry professionals, as those selected represent the top 1% of private clubs in the world. The Nominating Committee will soon embark upon the important task of identifying and recommending candidates for consideration for the 2022/2023 Board and Executive. Members will receive notice of this year’s Committee list and be formally invited to submit names of suitable candidates to be considered for the Board. In closing, as we prepare for the start of the new House Committee term, we are excited to welcome the next group of members to help provide policy direction and input to the Board and management. On page 14, members are invited to learn more about the House Committee system and its integral role in the governance process. I encourage you all to get involved. Finally, here's to a healthy and happy 2022! Sincerely,
Alan Bailey Club President president@arbutusclub.com

Working towards a
SUSTAINABLE future for the Club
T
he Arbutus Club's efforts towards greater sustainability and more waste reduction continues. Preserving and safeguarding the environment is important to our community and we are pleased to update you regarding the steps and commitment made to provide a healthy environment to benefit the Club now, and into the future.
ENERGY SAVINGS/INITIATIVES HEATING AND COOLING
We lowered temperature of boilers which includes the use of gas and electricity. All heating and cooling schedules have been adjusted to reduce the operating of the Club’s equipment.
AMMONIA PLANT
There has been a reduction of Ammonia from the recent upgrade. New chillers and Brine pumps have increased the efficiency and saves energy by pulling heat from the ice surface more quickly by using shorter compressor run times.
STEAM TANK FOR THE STEAM ROOM We're saving on energy and electricity! Steam only comes on when called for vs. the old pressure boiler system always remained on.
CITY WIDE BYLAW PLASTIC BAN, SINGLE USE FEE & REUSABLES
Effective January 1, the Club must charge a min fee of $0.25 for each single-use beverage cup and $0.15 for each paper bag distributed. We encourage members to bring their own reusable mugs and shopping bags when taking food and beverage to go.

The Bark w i n t e r 2022
The Club is receiving reports on the costs and capability of introducing Solar Paneling to our facility, as well as an Energy audit. RENOVATED ADMINISTRATION ROOF
Energy savings by keeping the heat and cooling in as opposed to it escaping via an inefficient roof. The Roof top units in this area will reach an ideal temperature sooner than later. Less gas and less electricity with shorter run times.
INVESTED IN AN ELECTRIC ICE RESURFACER
Replaced the propane unit to assist on emissions and energy savings.
LAUNDRY CHEMICALS
Green, v-friendly products used. In addition, the laundry machines use less water consumption with their wash cycles due to our updated machines and programs in place.

he multi-club initiative to keep used, nonrecyclable sports equipment out of the landfills is growing. And, the kind of items you can contribute is expanding. Your participation will allow Metro Vancouver's Waste-To-Energy program make renewable fuel producing electricity that is purchased and implemented by BC Hydro. This process uses 100% of the plastics leaving no residual micro-plastics behind.
PROJECT RE-BOUNCE 25% INCREASE IN VOLUME IN Q3
Tips from the Club's Gardener COMPOSTING ON SITE By composting our green waste, we require less soil and produce much less garden waste overall. We currently have a small cold style compost pile that is at the back of the Club. Passive composting requires less effort from the gardener; however, it takes longer to decompose (about 1 year) than a hot compost pile.
Third Quarter: July, August, September 2021
HOW TO: COLD COMPOST PILE
Q3 2021 HIGHLIGHTED RESULTS
Collect organic materials (grass clippings, leaves, soil). Bury kitchen scraps in the centre of the pile to deter insects and animals. Avoid adding meat, dairy, and fat. Also avoid weeds; cold compost piles do not reach high temperatures and do not kill weed seeds. (In fact, weeds may germinate in a cold pile.) Turn the pile with a pitchfork once per month and keep slightly damp.
Volume = 24,250 tennis ball equivalents
NEW ITEMS! Help keep Sports Equipment out of the landfills. Approved by Metro Vancouver Solid Waste: • Tennis balls • Tennis ball cans (NO lids or pull tabs) • Squash balls (singles & doubles) • Badminton shuttles (plastic & feather) • Racquet strings • Broken/unusable racquets • Grips/overgrip • Golf balls • Sport shoes (beyond donation quality)
NEXT TRIAL
Hockey equipment (beyond donation quality) to include mixed material sticks, pads, and gloves. *Stay tuned for more.
CELEBRATING NATIVE PLANTS Many of the plants in the Club's gardens are native to BC, meaning they are easier to grow and sustain, requiring less energy and very little water once established. They are suited to the amount of rainfall and climate of our region, and aid in preserving birds and insects in the region.
CONSCIOUSLY ORGANIC We are also avoiding the use of harsh herbicides and non-organic fertilizer as this can be washed away with runoff into our drinking water supply. ♦

SEASONAL FLORALS It's planning time for the Club gardens and Gardener, Ainsley Thompson, is carefully curating colourful spring blooms to amaze you. Get acquainted with the floral medley that await us as the seasons change in 2022 SNOW CROCUS (Crocus sieberi subsp. atticus) The highly-prized crimson red spice Saffron is derived from the dried stigma of a different species of Crocus (Crocus sativus). 1700 bulbs have been planted around the Club property.
LADY VAN EIJK Also known as Darwin Hybrid Tulips, this flower grows large, vibrant flowers on strong stems, and are amongst the tallest types of tulips (22-24 inches tall). This lipstick coloured variety of tulip often blooms mid season, mostly in April.
Tulips are related to another popular spring flower, the lily. They are both part of the Liliaceae family, as are onions, garlic & asparagus. PANSY Those born in the month of February get to claim the pansy as their birth flower. Purple pansies are some of the most popular, which plays off the hue of February’s birthstone, the amethyst.
MUSCARI 'WHITE MAGIC' Particularly fragrant, Muscari ‘White Magic’ flowers are known to be deer and rodent resistant. This flower is also perfect for attracting bees and butterflies to your garden. By planting these flower bulbs we are helping our pollinator friends flourish.
NARCISSUS 'THALIA' DAFFODILS Narcissus blooms, for many gardeners, are the first visible signs of spring. These daffodils will thrive and multiply with little care on your part, creating a glorious landscape and a horticultural legacy.
Much like the Muscari White Magic, Narcissus 'Daffodils are shunned by deer and rodents, helping to keep them away. SLAWA The Slawa Triumph Tulip, also meaning "fame" in Polish, offers admirers a dramatic display in the mid-spring garden. With petals of deep burgundy that feather into colors of coppery-orange, they shift hues as the edges brighten into peach and yellow.
BLACK PARROT Parrot tulips are whimsically-shaped, unusually-colored tulips which have been developed from mutations of certain late-flowering tulips. The petals of these tulips are serrated, or "fringed". The Black Parrot is award winning for its uniqueness and being one of the darkest tulips available.
Pansies are one of several edible garden flowers! They have a mild minty flavor and make for a lovely edible flourish on a salad or dessert. ♦ arbutusclub.com

ready to slam dunk Split Second Basketball player and Arbutus Club member, Stef Hart, is all net when it comes to her dedication on the court
W
hen Stef Hart first started Split Second Basketball in grade 5, it was hard to imagine that in a few years she would be one of the best players on one of the best high school teams in the province. However, that's exactly where she finds herself now as a grade 11 player on the Sir Winston Churchill Secondary School Bulldogs Basketball team, which will likely be one of the top AAAA (top level) teams in British Columbia this year. Stef's hard work and persistence are paying off as she plays a significant role for her high school and Club basketball teams. With the ability to score inside and out, good size and able to defend multiple positions, Stef will be an impact player for many years to come. It has been great watching Stef find her path through basketball and watching her grow into a strong, confident, and very capable young woman.
When did you first start playing basketball? Stef: I first started playing basketball in 2015 when I was 10 and instantly fell in love with the sport.
How is basketball unique at the Club? S: Split Second Basketball is unique in many ways. From the experienced coaches to the overall community, it makes for a really enjoyable atmosphere to play in. Not only are all the coaches very knowledgeable on and off the court, but they also create an overall fun and competitive environment. Plus, I enjoy the top notch facilities the Club offers, including two gymnasiums, a weight room, and physiotherapy.
How have you adapted to changes in basketball throughout the pandemic? S: Switching from playing basketball competitively against other people almost every day, to just doing skills alone was definitely a difficult task. Thankfully I have a hoop in my backyard and a coach who hosted Zoom calls multiple times a week, which allowed me to continue to further develop my individual skills and prepare me for when we could eventually start playing games again.

Meet the Athlete
What skill have you mastered in basketball that assists you in other areas of your daily life? S: Basketball has taught me how to work in a team, communicate, and be a leader. Communication and being able to work with others are both important skills in anything that you do and playing basketball has really shown me how to expand these skills. I’ve also learned a lot about leadership, which has given me the opportunity to take on more roles of responsibility in my everyday life.
In your opinion, what is the key to perseverance in sports and athletics? S: Perseverance in athletics is always wanting to get better. No matter how good you are there’s always room for improvement. Whether that’s developing new skills or trying to get stronger, there’s always something more you can do, which I think gives you a reason to want to continue doing what you’re doing.
What is your goal for the upcoming season? S: My goal for the upcoming season is to talk more on defense. I’ve heard that sometimes I am quiet on the court, so this season my main goal is to be the loudest and most talkative since it’s such an important aspect of the game.
Are there any teammates, coaches, staff, or trainers at the Club that have positively enhanced your basketball experience? S: All the Split Second coaches have so much knowledge and have all taught me different important things that have had a big impact on the way I play. The Physio staff have also been helpful whenever I’ve had any sort of injury. My recovery time has always been faster, and they really know what they’re talking about and the best ways to help.
What major league players do you look up to? S: Although I do enjoy watching the WNBA, NBA and NCAA, the player I look up to most is Jess Hanson, who’s currently playing professionally in Germany. She’s coached me since I was 12 and is one of the main reasons I chose to pursue basketball. Her incredible athleticism and basketball skills are admirable, plus she always brings so much energy to the gym when she’s playing and coaching. The way Jess understands the game really shows in her coaching and playing, and I’m very grateful that I’ve had the opportunity to have played with and be coached by her.
If you could describe playing/participating in basketball with one word what would it be? S: Rewarding. ♦
Is there a university team that you dream to be on? After high school I hope to continue basketball at a postsecondary level playing at either UBC or UVIC. They’re both great schools academically and athletically, which is what I’m looking for in a university.

Grapes & Hops
“What an amazing event! Of all my years as a member at the club, this was the best Grapes & Hops to date”, says an enthusiastic Christine Hu, of this year’s revamped event. “It was on a totally different level.” After a two year hiatus due to government mandated gathering restrictions and social distancing precautions, Grapes & Hops returned refreshed and full of spirit. With an eclectic crowd of wine connoisseurs, brew buffs, and libation lovers alike, the energy in the room was positively electric. Members, guests, staff, and vendors were thrilled to be back together again, ushering in the Club’s first major event since the end of 2019. Although Grapes & Hops has been a fixture on the autumn event calendar, this year felt extra special as it provided some semblance of "normalcy" on our path through the pandemic. Planning Grapes & Hops was no easy task. Food & Beverage Director, Don Robinson, alongside his astonishingly adaptable team, began planning at the height of summer to ensure that the event was not only safe, but to also provide guests with an evening of ease, entertainment, and most importantly, community. “We wanted to have a

Provincial Health Orders were meticulously reviewed and the broad uptake for proof of vaccination allowed for the Club’s biggest event to come to fruition. The persnickety attention to detail and the sheer joy felt in the room was not lost on member Amanda Solinas, “Grapes and Hops exceeded our expectations this year.” “After the long months of limitations due to COVID, it was great to come together at such a well planned event”, she added. “Having the event in the South Gymnasium was

from near and far. From savouring the endless, granular idiosyncrasies of Italian pinots to the tantalizing tannins often associated with homegrown Okanagan vintners, guests were taken on an exclusive, round-the-world wine tasting tour. Renowned, local craft brewers, such as Strange Fellows and Persephone, proved just as popular with their diverse array of flavors and aromas, ranging from stone fruit to barrel oak – and one must not forget the trendy namesake of the event, hops. The delectable and bodied tasting notes weren’t alone in awakening the senses of the Grapes & Hops attendees. “We wanted to create visual and aural play from arrival to departure – all the ingredients of a rollicking, engaging atmosphere”, explains Don Robinson.

A spectacular and grandiose show, it was. With an expanded footprint, the event featured a charming After Lounge in The Fireside. Complete with the sophisticated Russian Standard Martini Bar, members and guests basked in a more intimate setting with liquid elixirs within arms reach. Although Grapes & Hops was the cheerful toast of the holiday season, the event made its initial debut in a modest fashion. Inspired by events such as the

Vancouver Wine Festival, former Food & Beverage Manager Kim McBurney held the first Grapes & Hops on a weekday in October of 2003. “I was unsure how our very first Grapes & Hops would be attended, so I told the Chef that we just needed a few cheese platters, as you would at a traditional wine tasting event”, reminisces Kim. In its humble inception, Grapes & Hops was inaugurated with 150 members in attendance, though the palatable fun produced a thirst for more. “Ultimately, we needed more food and our members had come to expect an exceptional time, so ‘more’ is where

we are today“, laughs Kim. It was foreshadowing year-toyear exponential growth. “We went from no music to a string quartet to two rooms with DJ’s and from 12 vendors to 24 vendors”, concludes Kim in proud disbelief. The evolution of Grapes & Hops and the special significance it has as our first major event to bring members back together after months apart was sentimental for CEO, Brent Elkington. "It was definitely a night to remember," he says gleefully. "Chef Michael, Don Robinson, and their team put on an event like no other I have seen at the Club." The jubilation and smiles by all those who attended make us take pause to see the rainbow despite the storm. ♦

THE NUTCRACKER The Arbutus Club's adaptation of this beloved ballet continues to be a favourite, festive holiday tradition performed by our very own Arbutus Academy of Dance Performance History how it started Since the Mariinsky Theatre's production of The Nutcracker in St. Petersburg in 1882, audiences around the world have been captivated by this ballet's timeless tale and the unforgettable music. Like the show itself, The Arbutus Academy of Dance production has become an annual tradition, indicating the beckoning holiday season and the coming of the new year.
the show must go on In the Spring of 2020 The Arbutus Academy of Dance had to cancel all indoor performances and shift to a virtual platform. We had to adapt, we were always thinking plan B, plan C, we kept very nimble and were not able to perform The Nutcracker last year. A year and a half after halting indoor performances, The Arbutus Academy of Dance was thrilled to celebrate a return to an in-person performance presenting a custom version of The Nutcracker ballet. The audience was ready,

and the entire dance community was so eager to come back together to enjoy the show. The enthusiasm and excitement for the production was remarkable this year, exhibited in each and every one of the dancer's dedication to practice, their attention to technique, keenness for exhilaration, and the palpable passion for performance. Buzzing with excitement and thrilled to showcase the student's hard work. Marlene Hershfield, her wonderful team of teachers, and the costume mistress, presented two wonderful performances on Sunday, December 5, 2021. This way, we were able to accommodate two sets of audiences while keeping everyone safe. Waltz of the Flowers opened the performance with a beautiful routine. Twirling from left to right, with turning jumps, smoothly building the excitement and setting the stage. In gorgeous costumes, the dancers performed each and every routine with joy, while striving for perfection as the audience watched in awe. The choreography of acts Sugar & Spice, Gingerbread, Coffee and Tea delighted the audience, while the Party Scene and Peppermint continued to create a magical mood for Sweet Dreams & Silent Nights, Clara & The Nutcracker, Marizipan, and Hot Chocolate. The Sugar Plum Fairy and Bon Bons dazzled in this most Christmassy ballet. By the time the largest group of dancers returned to the stage to perform the Waltz of the Snowflakes, many of us had tears in our eyes watching the happiness of the Club's young dancers, who are able to perform live once again.

thanks to the black and white stripes The Arbutus Club Minor Hockey Association is proud of its officiating program and the opportunity it provides members, 12 and up, who are interested in refereeing the game of hockey Officiating is an outstanding program to teach an individual confidence, problem solving, responsibility, and the ability to manage difficult situations. At the Club, we take pride in developing our officials by bringing the individual along slowly and steadily building their confidence. We're interested in our officials being in positions to succeed and this has led to a very healthy program filled with bright, up-and-coming referees. Our most experienced officials are welcoming and willing to work with training officials, and the cycle of development happens naturally with their help, and guidance. We look at each game a referee officiates as an opportunity for development and learning. When

everyone works together, and learns from each other, the program is at it's strongest. We have many officials with years of experience, led by members like Mike Weiler, who has put countless hours into volunteering. Mike has graciously helped lay the foundation for our program, and takes much pride in watching our referees flourish.
It's people like Mike Weiler who make the officiating program a success. In recent years, interest in officiating has declined across Canada due to many reasons, including verbal abuse
from the crowd and the coaches, leading to increased pressure. At The Arbutus Club, we are proud to do all we can to support each official in every situation, as well as having zero tolerance for any on-ice verbal abuse. This mentality allows our officials to go out and officiate each game to the best of their ability, without fear they are not being supported. With this approach, our program allows growth and our officials develop in confidence and ability. Next time you walk by the rink and see two hockey teams on the ice playing hard and having fun, think about the team of individuals who move the game along, keeping it fair, and everyone safe. They are the ones in black and white stripes! ♦

trainer fitness tips Needing a little motivation getting back into the swing of your fitness regimen? Our Personal Training team has a bevvy of tips on how to get your fitness groove back this year
T
he pandemic put a kink into most member’s fitness routines. In an effort to get ready for a rush back towards health and fitness, the Club has hired 4 new trainers who are excited to bring new ideas, new energy, and a combined 65 years of experience to the Personal Training. We welcome Lara Habashy, Naomi Canales, Nebojsa Miljkovic, and Rachel Sanchez. If you have found the home fitness equipment you bought is now under a layer of laundry or the garage gym you built is cold and uninspiring, then it's time to get back to our state-ofthe-art Fitness Centre. Have one of our experienced personal trainers recalibrate your routine. Perhaps, you could meet weekly to achieve your health goals. To get you started we have asked our new trainers to give you 3 Fit Tips from their years of experience to help you feel motivated in 2022.
NAOMI’S TOP 3 FIT TIPS
1
START WITH YOUR CORE Learning to activate your core during exercise and daily life will not only help to prevent injuries, but it will also support your structural integrity by strengthening from the inside out allowing the body to become a solid foundation to be built upon.
2
FIND WHAT MOTIVATES YOU
3
INVEST IN YOURSELF
Each one of us is unique, so it is great to focus on the activities that truly speak to you. My advice, try a wide variety of active pursuits and see what provokes the most interest in YOU.
Studies show adherence to an exercise plan was 85% more effective when accountable to someone else, and as well, you take the time to become more educated in your chosen endeavour. Plan with a friend or try working with a personal trainer to take the guesswork out and simplify your routine.

BALANCE YOUR LIFESTYLE Successfully reaching your fitness goals depends largely on lifestyle balance. Learning how to get regular sleep, how to eat for performance and how to better prioritize self care will fast track your results in the gym and in your sport. MANAGE YOUR STRESS Regular exercise doesn’t just keep you physically fit, it is a proven effective treatment to manage your stress and mental health. As little as 150 minutes/week of moderate intensity aerobic exercise will help you feel these benefits. BE SPORTS SPECIFIC Build a sport specific workout program for the sport you already enjoy. Workouts in the gym can be more motivating when the sessions are geared towards improving your performance in the sports you love.

NEB’S TOP 3 FIT TIPS
1
IF YOU WANT TO IMPROVE YOUR CORE STRENGTH - MASTER YOUR PLANK
2
FOCUS ON BALANCE IN YOUR STRENGTH PROGRAMS
Holding a plank position can fire up many muscle groups simultaneously and building your core strength, plus other benefits such as improved posture and metabolic stimulation.
Strength and balance is crucial for executing human movement with efficiency and power. By applying equal amounts of tension in opposition, our muscles can work in unison to achieve ultimate performance.

SETTING UP YOUR FITNESS GOAL BE S.M.A.R.T.
► Specific (simple)
► Measurable (motivating)
► Achievable (agreed, attainable)
► Relevant (reasonable, realistic, results-based)

DON’T BE TOO HARD ON YOURSELF Fitness and health are a lifelong journey. If you aren’t seeing results right away, keep showing up and putting in the work and the results will come. HEALTHY MIND, HEALTHY BODY Make time to take care of yourself. Go outside, be in nature and try to reduce stressors in your life. It will make for more effective workouts. STICK TO A PROGRAM Coming everyday and doing random exercises won’t lead to any tangible results. Follow a well written program to achieve the best results.♦

ADDITIONAL TIP FROM THE TEAM A strong core helps you to utilize other parts of your body to make the most out of your workouts. Often, people will throw in a set of abdominal crunches at the end of their workout and call it a day. Don't stop there! To get the best results, include a variety of exercises that target your entire core, not just your abs.

Husbands and wives and parents and their children partnered up, highlighting what a special, familyoriented environment The Arbutus Club truly is.” Sponsors Alliance Partners and Wilson greatly contributed to making the event a success. All players received a gift bag upon arrival for their first match, which included practical items such as strings, grips, and t-shirts. On the final day of the event there was a draw for prizes and the winners were Amanda Solinas (winner of the Wilson Clash racquet) and Donna Wong (winner of the Wilson tennis bag). Awards for the finalists and champions were a big hit which were beautiful glass trophies and Arbutus Club gift cards. During the finals of the Men’s and Women’s Open, A category spectators were treated to lunch while cheering on some of The Arbutus Club's top tennis players. The tournament greatly benefited from having 17 volunteers who contributed immensely to the positive environment and running the event smoothly. saluting our skating volunteers Fixtures of skating at The Arbutus Club, Barb West and Bev Harvey illustrate how the program is full of hard-work, preseverance, and heart A member since 1971 and former Club President, Barb West has been an integral facet of skating at The Arbutus Club. Through the years, she has witnessed the evolution of the Club's skating program and has judged the sport from local to national levels.

“I love to see our young skaters begin their journey and watch them grow," Barb says proudly. "We have a talented and dedicated professional team guiding our skaters, who always go above and beyond – from first steps to gold medals," she excitedly adds. As a past and current Figure Skating Chairperson and an advocate for all ice programs, Barb continues to judge tests
As the current Test Chairperson, Bev Harvey has spent hundreds of hours coordinating the intricate organization of our testing. She has volunteered with figure skating in many capacities -chair, treasurer, test chair and continues to be involved.

"All these years later, I still love the smell of a rink and feel blessed to spend time with kids who know what it means to work hard and strive to accomplish goals with perseverance, hard work and heart", she beams. "At the Club there are options to compete, test and perform" allowing our members to choose a path most fitting for their ability and skating goals. Bev believes that volunteering is at the core of any successful program. "It also indicates to your kids that you are involved and interested and supportive of their participation in programs." It is a legacy to leave to future families of our programs. ♦
