sugar

Fatty liver:

Sugar is divided into glucose and fructose. Glucose is a good thing and we can find it in every living cell on the planet whereas fructose is not as much needed by our body. It is digested by the liver in a very small amount but if the amount increases then as you know the fructose turns into glycogen and is stored in the liver. Excess amount of fructose can overload the liver and further turns into fats. If you continue to take increased amounts of fructose then it can lead to fatty liver and all sorts of serious problems. To avoid such situation, it is important to have active life. There is no risk if fructose is coming from your fruits.

No nutrients only energy:

Sugar has no proteins, essential fats, vitamins or minerals etc. It is so you know that sugars like sucrose and high fructose corn syrup have calories but no nutrients. It is pure energy. If the intake of sugar increases in your diet then it can lead to major health problems and add to nutrient deficiencies.

Tooth decay:

Your teeth are the first where the digestion and cartelization process start. Right from the childhood you have heard that it is very important to brush your teeth properly after eating chocolates and it is because of sugar as it gives easily digestible energy for

the harmful bacteria which are in the mouth and that leads to tooth decay.

Non- Alcoholic fatty Liver Disease:

It is also known as NAFLD. Nowadays this problem has grown in western countries. This is strongly related to metabolic diseases. The main reason of all this is excess fructose which has turned into fat in the liver. Studies show that such patients are consuming up to 2 -3 times more fructose than an average person.

Metabolic disorder and diabetes:

In general whatever we eat is converted into glucose which flows with our blood and from there it enters our cells and there the glucose is burnt instead of turned into fat. All this function is done with the help of hormone called Insulin. When the amount of glucose increases and insulin hormone fails to control it then blood becomes highly toxic. Our cells become resistant which causes several diseases like metabolic syndrome, obesity, cardiovascular disease and especially type II diabetes. Studies have found that this condition has direct link to high level of sugar consumption.

Cancer:

Studies show that people who are consuming higher amount of sugar are at higher risk of cancer. In cancer, number of cells growth increases uncontrollably and in-

sulin is the hormone that helps in controlling this multiplication of cells. But due to high level of sugar in body pancreas stops making insulin and that results into high risk of cancer in the body.

Hormone:

As you know different food has different effect on your body, brain and hormones. Study says that Fructose doesn’t give a sense of satiety to your hunger hormone Ghrelin and your brain always thinks about having more food whereas glucose does. If your intake has more fructose then you will always feel like eating more. This certainly increases your weight and adds obesity.

Release of dopamine hormone in high amount:

Sugar can act as an abusive drug for many people and they can be addicted to it. It causes excess release of dopamine in the reward center of the brain. Study says that people become addicted to sugar and junk foods which are high in sugar due to this excess exposure of dopamine. When people become addictive that causes further health issues.

Risk of Obesity:

Most children love sugar and sweet stuffs and this remains a life time love for sweet eating i.e.

as an adult their craving doesn’t change. As we read above that sugar affects hormones and brain and you never feel satiated from its consumption. No surprise that such people are most likely to become overweight or obese. Studies have also supported this as a fact. So, if you want to put your weight down then cut your sugar consumption.

Cholesterol and heart problem:

Saturated fat was considered as the worst for heart diseases but new studies have found that it is harmless and that sugar is the biggest reason. It is due to the fructose and its harmful effects on your metabolism. Studies say that excess fructose raises triglycerides, raises blood glucose and insulin lev-

els and increases abdominal fat. It can increase the level of risk even within 10 weeks of excess fructose income. It is the major risk factor of heart diseases.

Affect pH level:

Studies have found that daily excess sugar dose changes the internal pH level which means that your body will be more acidic. It is found that acidic environment is a breeding ground for diseases whereas an alkaline body promotes good health. Body always tries to find balance and maintain health but at a time of such disturbance body takes mineral support from the body itself. For example, in order to correct the blood, it takes calcium from bones and teeth so they will certainly become weak and further cause osteoarthritis.

Digestion Problem:

Studies have found that the refined sugar harms the digestive system for those who have difficulty digesting carbohydrates.

What do we understand by Human Rights?

Menstruation still taboo in India PHOTO/TAC

By Onkareshwar Pandey

Congress party leader M.M Hassan’s shocking description of menstruation as being impure and women should not enter places of worship during that time, has once again brought the issue in public debate and that it is still considered taboo by a section of Indian society. The fact, however, is that there are several Indian states where puberty is celebrated. From Assam to the southern states, the tradition of puberty-related rituals exists. Most of these rituals are similar in belief and customs. "Menstruation is impure and during this period women should not enter temples. There is a scientific reason behind the instruction that women should not enter during this period. It

should not be given other interpretations. During this period, Muslim women do not observe a fast. My opinion is that women should not go to the temple, mosque or church when their body is impure," Hassan said at a public function in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, after taking over as the interim president of the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee. Opinions are divided on Hassan's remark. In the past, menstruation was largely considered untouchable because people used to believe that women in this state were unhygienic, smelly and water touched by them could be infected. In most parts of rural and urban India, as also in other parts of the world, menstruation is taboo; treated as an embarrassment. In some parts of India menstruating women are not allowed inside their homes for three nights. In some respects, however, menstruation is seen as a positive aspect of a girl's life. Celebrating it marks the young girl's formal introduction to her society as an adult with full rights and privileges. Assamese people call it “Tulani

Biyah”, equivalent of marriage. It is celebrated by a family after a girl has reached the age of puberty. There is no taboo in Assamese society announcing that a daughter has reached the age. Assam is not the only state in India where puberty is celebrated since ages. Similar tradition of the puberty rituals exists in many parts of our country with striking similarities, matched by similar beliefs and customs. In a house of 'Naalu Kettu', a house of four blocks built with Keralite architecture, 'Dakkini', south block of the house, is for women with menstrual cycle. They would confine themselves within the block and would not even enter the kitchen or go to the northern as well as the eastern sides of the house, let alone going to a temple. The connection between divinity and menstruation is shown both in fieldwork and through an ethnographic analysis of literature in Kerala, where the pan-Kerala Goddess Bhagavati‘s rituals appear patterned on those of menstrual maidens. Such reverence can also be found in some communities.

A poem written two millennia ago in South India described women as filled with ananku , a sacred power associated with sexuality that was considered particularly potent during menstruation. The Sangam era description of ananku is a precursor of the later concept of shakti (divine vivifying female power). In the Indian state of Tamil Nadu girls who have attained puberty are given presents and people celebrate to mark the occasion. In Andhra Pradesh a girl who has attained puberty is called “Pushpawati”. The word is derived from pushpa –flower, metaphorically explaining that girls who have reached the age are like flower blossoms, says senior Telugu Journalist Naresh Nunna. Such practice is also prevalent in other states of India. The people must ask themselves, why such rituals begin in some sections of our society, when there were no talks about women empowerment at all. And if this custom is there in many states, why should it not be celebrated throughout the country and the world? Why can’t we educate the masses? Can things ever change? There is a

culture of silence in the entire North India about it. Why the status of women in India, despite the brave talks, remains as precarious as ever? No one talks why we let this happen. Why we constantly victimise women when it is only a biological routine that is part of womanhood? Assamese and many other communities in India celebrate first menstruation of a girl, which is worth following, does not exist in our larger society. Such good tradition should be propagated, promoted and followed. That will truly empower the women psychologically. Hassan’s remark places women as second class citizens in society and jeopardises all efforts of women empowerment. Indian society would do well to launch an awareness campaign to propagate celebration of girls attaining womanhood across the country and the world. Stopping women from entering places of worship during menstruation, is notng but an abuse of their rights.

their commitment towards protection of Human Rights and not just Promotion of human rights. Contemporary times have made us believe that we cannot have any life other than a political one, and what I mean by it is this, we are entangled into a web of Rights and duties. State or nation which we live in have a duty to protect us from harm, provide us benefits, think of our welfare and must accommodate values of Democracy, Liberty & Equality in the policies. And since all democratic ruled State nations share the common notion of Protecting Human

Rights, they must, for the greater good come together at one level and such an effort Give Birth to International treaties and pacts/conventions. If we talk about International human rights law, it aims to provide human rights its due respect, safeguard against abuse and accomplishment through favoring environment in and among the states that are party to it, laying down universal obligations and classification as special class of urgent rights as that of absolute virtue and paramount priority competent with other national governing avenues of security. The adoption of United Nations General assembly on December 10, 1948 of Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) besides International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR), its two Optional Protocols, and the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (ICESCR), constitute the International Bill of Human Rights, they all, collectively recognize the importance of upholding Human rights within an arena which is full of terror and conflicts. The conventions, treaties and pacts that are being adopted presuppose that there are clashes in the world in terms of ideologies and that there is a possi-

during old time. A decade ago, moms used to be the friends of their kids and now the time requires a mingling of both the attributes. Women are in touch with all the modern techniques for keeping themselves aware of the recent facts and findings. This range is very wide right from the best quality of huggies to the best quality of healthcare drinks. They want their children to keep a good stuff of knowledge in their minds. At the same time they want them to give proper respect too. Smart moms want their children learn three Es to lead a peaceful life, they are, respect for Elders, Ethics and Emotions. She wants respect for elders, it satisfies the ego of the person concerned. Ethics are the base or the pillars of human beings on which the life rests. Emotions are essential to keep mutual bonding strong. It makes a person sensible and it is the one on which a relationship is maintained. Modern moms never want their children to compromise on the point of moral values. Though they are free to attend socials yet they are instructed to come back before late nights. They are in touch with children when they are out after school hour. They are too apprehensive to know that modernity does not mean going far from ethics. Morality and humanity are the parts of lifestyle. If it tends to be erased out,

then it might create destruction of a family. Parents want their children to get up smartly but at the same time they want their association with the rituals. Marriages and festivals are the occasions where one needs a combination of both. In the changing scenario, everyone wants best output in least efforts. It is necessary to adopt new policies in parenthood also for gaining good outcome. Smart means a time tasted result with optimum action in minimum time. A smart mom wants to inculcate the habit of punctuality and discipline with utmost humility and affection in her children. They want them to learn money management. Extravagance may lead to bankruptcy. They should learn to differentiate between right and wrong expenditure. They must learn to say “no” to peer pressure. As we are living in techno world, all sorts of cyber crime and cyber bull must be known to them. A smart mom is also a human being, she also needs some space to recreate and relax. A tired and fatigue mind may lead to tussles on small issues. So the other family members must respect her when she wants her time to live by herself. Everyone has got her own means to relax. Human Rights today is a chimera, in a way what can be looked as God in religion, though it was to be an ethical benchmark for the treatment of the common by their state. Butas it turns out today, it cannot be held as anexclusive measure of economic or social or political development. As the poorest person’s right to freedom from want and the civilians to be free from fear as from terrorism ought to be assessed for the growth and advancement of a country else their disenfranchisement may lead to a human vacuum not suitable to account for economic boost. The call of temporal military intervention for security in violation to inalienable human virtues of dignified life and liberty poses a threat through the rose colored glasses. Human Rights and the discourse around it, paints an ideal picture in our minds about what Rights of A human Being are and we only form a perception in and around such framework. In plain understanding, Human rights are those rights that every Human Being is supposed to have born with, something intrinsic and natural, something that makes everyone equal, something which no one has right to encroach upon and something without which existence is not possible of any Human being irrespective of its traits and qualities. The whole deliberation is regarding the acceptance and acknowledgement of the fact that every single Individual is as important as his fellow human being is and since man has taken birth, the very basic right that he must have is The ‘Right to Live’. The very basis of our life is to live and not just survive. Because survival doesn’t demand dignity, but living does and over time Human Rights activism has led to believe that survival is of no use if dignity is not granted and it falls almost in the same category as of Right to Life. The inquiry to emphasize the importance of human rights and the anxiety between international morale standard allegations alongside apprehensions of

the human rights claims used widely induce the intellectual skepticism around them. Human rights can be put into words as the pre- requisites of reason and desire of conscience by Kofi Annan. The principles for equitable and sustainable egalitarianism and accountable and rule of law development play an influence as long as they remain firmly rooted in the state policies and

4

bility that all rational actors come to single platform to agree upon something that is very much practical and could be adhered to, even though the Morals set by such agreements may often transcend the reality but at some or other point of time they would be feasible, or at least it is thought to be so. The hopefulness of UN had appeared back in 1942 when Franklin Roosevelt identified four basic freedom of a human being that has to be secured, especially in war like situations and they were, Freedom of speech and expression, Freedom of religion, Freedom from Want and most importantly freedom from the possible fear of war. The world in 1945 had already witnessed what violation of Human Rights mean and post 1945, all was clear that no inhuman acts either by states or by group of people would be tolerated and charter of the UN later on gave a central importance to such motion. The need today is to realize what Human Rights aim at doing and why it is so very necessary for our existence. In India and all over the world, the need is now felt to recognize more such rights that are intrinsic to a human being’s existence and those rights must be protected.

In an era of multitasking, it might be easier for a male to co-relate several tasks at a time but for a working female, co-relation between the task of upbringing a child and that of office work is not very easy. Children in the age group of eight to sixteen years have almost all the information that an adult can have. Mobile has given an easy access to all sorts of information whether appropriate for the tender age or not. So guardians should be smart enough to deal with the situations. Sometimes they face severe problems in handling a growing child as they cannot go violent with the child. Smart children need smart care. Smart moms show anger at a moment and bring smile at the same time at the same moment. ‘Spare the rod, spoil the child,’was a popular saying prevalent

best nourishing tonic for a lady. Talking freely on all matters whether office oriented or household ones gives pleasure to her. A friend or the husband must realize this and he should remain trustworthy to her. Such a company provides her solace in grief and hope in despair. The pleasure or pain derived from any activity must be told honestly to such a confidential mate, it will give satisfaction and confidence and the smart mom will feel relaxed. A recent survey conducted on about five hundred ladies in Switzerland concluded that if you describe all your activities of a day to your closest mate then it not only deepens the mutual bonding but also renders a healthful mind and body. Psychologists give a different terminology for this concept which is very explicit and vivid. It is the interaction of listening and speaking therapy. It enhances the vocal power of a member who narrates his or her activities to get free from all tensions and worries. There should be least interference by giving comments or suggestions on behalf of the listener. It also enhances the listening power of the listener as he pays whole hearted attention in listening. It is evident that a smart mom has lots of responsibilities to carry on, so she ought to be given appropriate heed from the family.

Killing or Not Killing Article 48 of the Indian Constitution talks of prohibiting cow slaughter. Does it not make the constitution pro-Hindus?

Saman Bilgrami

These were formulated at the time when India was a third world economy just emerged from atrocious colonial power. This was envisaged to prevent killing of bowels which were vital to the agrarian economy as an additional source of income through livestock rearing it has no religious intent but purely economic. Here are some excerpts. The intention was never to make it a religious matter but to address the economic value of cows. Mr. Vice-President: We now come to new article 38-A - amendment No. 1002 standing in the names of Pandit Thakur Das Bhargava and Seth Govind Das. Seth Goving Das: Sir, I have an amendment to the amendment of Pandit Thakur Das Bhargava which I will move after Pandit Thakur Das Bhargava has moved his amendment. Pandit Thakur Dass Bhargava (East Punjab: General):* [Mr. President, the words of the amendment No. 72 which I am moving in place of amendment No. 1002, are as follows: "That for amendment No. 1002 of the lists of amendments to 38-A the following be substituted: `38-A. The State shall endeavor to organize agriculture and animal husbandry on modern and scientific lines and shall in particular take steps for preserving and improving the breeds of cattle and prohibit the slaughter of cow and other useful cattle, specially milch and draught cattle and their young stock'." [..] I do not want that due to its inclusion in the Fundamental Rights, non-Hindus should complain that they have been forced to accept a certain thing against their will. So far as the practical question is concerned, in my opinion, there will be absolutely no difference if the spirit of the amendment is worked out

faithfully, where so ever this amendment is placed. With regard to Article 38 which the House has just passed, I would like to state that Article 38 is like a body without a soul. If you fail to pass Article 38A which is the proposed amendment, then Article 38 will be meaningless. How can you improve your health and food position, if you do not produce full quota of cereals and milk? This amendment is divided into three parts. Firstly, the agriculture should be improved on scientific and modernlines. Secondly, the cattle breed should be improved; and thirdly, the cow and other cattle should be protected from slaughter. To grow more food and to improve agriculture and the cattle breed are all inter-dependent and are two sides of the same coin. Today, we have to hang our head in shame, when we find that we have to import cereals from outside. I think our country is importing 46 million tons of cereals from outside. If we calculate the average of the last twelve years, namely, from 1935 to 1947, then it would be found that this country has produced 45 million tons of cereals every year. Therefore, it is certain that we are not only self-sufficient but can also export cereals from our country. If we utilize water properly, construct dams, and have proper change in the courses of rivers, use machines and tractors, make use of cropping and manuring, then surely the production will increase considerably. besides all these, the best way of increasing the production is to improve the health of human beings and breed of cattle, whose milk and manure and labour are most essential for growing food. [….] Therefore, I want to submit before you that the slaughter of cattle should be banned here Ours is an agricultural

country and the cow is `Kam-Dhenu' to us - fulfiller of all our wants. From both points of view, of agriculture and food, protection of the cow becomes necessary. Our ancient sages and Rishis, realising her importance, regarded her as very sacred. here, Lord Krishna was born, who served cows so devotedly that to this day, inaffection he is known as "Makhan Chor". I would not relate to you the story of Dalip, how that Raja staked his own life for his cow. But I would like to tell you that even during the Muslim rule, Babar, Humayun, Akbar, Jahangir and even in the reign of Aurangzeb, cow- slaughter was not practised in India; not because Muslims regarded it to be bad but because, from the economic point of view, it was unprofitable. It is no wonder that people worship cow in this land. but I do not appeal to you in the name of religion; I ask you to consider it in the light of economic requirements of the country. In this connection I would like to tell you the opinion of the greatest leader of our country - the Father of the Nation - on the subject. You know the ideas of revered Mahatmaji on this topic. He never wanted to put any compulsion on Muslims or non-Hindus. He said, "I hold that the question of cow-slaughter is of great moment - in certain respects of even greater moment - than that of Swaraj. Cow-slaughter and manslaughter are, in my opinion, two sides of the same coin."

The below stats are picked up from the http://www.makeinindia.com/sector/le ather, which states: 1. A strong base for raw materials – India is endowed with 20% of the world’s cattle and buffalo and 11% of the world’s goat and sheep population. 2. India produces 2.5 billion sq. feet of leather, accounting for about 13% of global production.

mThe Indian Leather Industry comprises of major segments namely Footwear, Finished Leather, Leather Goods, Leather Garments, Footwear Components and Saddlery and Harness. All these segments have high growth potential. mPer capita consumption of footwear in India projected to increase upto 4 pairs and total domestic consumption is expected to reach upto 5 billion pairs by 2020. mGreat opportunity to set-up manufacturing facility of footwear components, considering increasing demand for fashion footwear in India.

Slaughterhouse ban to hit leather goods industry, impact on Make in India

Imports of finished leather have been increasing at a rate of 15-20 per cent year-on-year. Leather goods manufacturers, who have experienced a slump in raw material supply from domestic sources, fear that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)led Uttar Pradesh government's action against illegal slaughterhouses could hit supplies and raise prices. They also say a "blanket ban" on slaughterhouses could defeat the purpose of the Make in India programme for the $12 billion Indian leather industry, which is among the top five in the world's leather market. In case of short supply of raw materials from the indigenous market, manufacturers need to look for costly imports of raw materials instead of cheap domestic sourcing which would make Indian leather exports less competitive in the world market. "The crackdown on illegal slaughterhouses by the Uttar Pradesh government cannot be questioned, but a blanket ban will affect the domestic supply of raw material. Since illegal

units were in the supply chain, some amount of short supply is expected," Tapan Nandi, Convenor Chairman for German Investment in India of the Council of Leather Export, told IANS. According to industry sources, Uttar Pradesh being a large state contributes a majority of raw material supply along with Punjab, Bihar and West Bengal. "A blanket ban on slaughterhouses would nudge manufacturers to depend more on imported raw materials, which are costly. If the imports go up, that will add to the cost of Indian leather products and we will lose our competitiveness in the world market. Thus, the Make in India programme could be impacted," he said. According to the Council of Leather Export, India produces about three billion sq ft of raw leather annually. The country's leather industry is bestowed with an affluence of raw materials as India is endowed with 21 per cent of the world's cattle and buffaloes and 11 per cent of the world's goat and sheep population. "The domestic raw material supplies have been showing a declining trend mainly because our exports were hurt. About 2,000 tanneries in India have been facing a crunch in supplies. About seven per cent of fallen animals are not being sourced for value addition," Nandi said. India's export of leather and leather products for the financial year 2015-16 recorded a negative growth of 9.86 per cent, touching $5.85 billion as against $6.49 billion in previous year. "It is too early to say whether the illegal slaughterhouse ban in Uttar Pradesh will impact the supply. But some apprehension prevails if a large-scale ban is executed," Adhar Sahni, Vice President, Indian Leather Products Association, told IANS. However, imports of finished leather have been increasing at a rate of 15-20 per cent year-on-year. "Imports are rising according the need of the products. If orders of leather products require imported raw materials, imports will accordingly rise," Sahni said. Nandi, however, asked, "If the ban on slaughterhouses, mainly cow slaughter houses, is a political decision, the imports of raw materials, particularly cow hide and skin, should be a sensitive matter for the political parties. Isn't it?

Now the question arise if Ban on slaughterhouses is for the benefit for economical purpose then the PM’s make in India crashes, earlier Modi was seen as a figure to bring Ram Rajay why Modi didn’t ban cow slaughter why he gave boost to leather industry, and if only banning cow slaughter is not pro Hindu ideology?

Vibrant colours of fusion art sends OUT positive healing vibrations: Meher J As one looks at an abstract art, one finds a beautiful fusion of colours and creative imagination that places the artist in a real world which motivates an individual to live life freely and believe in humanity. The shapes that appear abstract at first create a fusion with the imagination to create shapes that are personal to the viewer. And as artist Meher Juneja says, fusion is a scintillation of artworks that chronicles a process of joining all the vibrations from the universe together to form a single entity. At its core it is related to all spiritual energies with healing properties and relieving stress. Sugar intake needs Faridabad (NCR) | 01-15 April, 2017 www.theasianchronicle.com

Earlier fat was considered a villain, a toxic but modern research found that the actual villain of our life in the form of food is Sugar. It is responsible for obesity, depression, heart disease, teeth and many things. Sugar is needed for our body and it is very important to limit yourself within it.

n Adult men- 37.5 gram or 9 teaspoon. n Adult women- 25 grams or 6 teaspoon.

It is also important to know that one teaspoon contains 4 grams of sugar. Our body requires carbohydrate for its proper maintenance but the worst source can be sugary foods which are loaded with table sugar, corn syrup or maple syrup. These foods are full of calories but have no or very little nutrition. They are mostly heavily processed foods, even those that don't taste sweet. It is necessary to know its sources and strictly avoid processed food and eat within limits. It is important to know the sources and then find healthy alternative. Let us start with a simple example. We all love raisin which is made up of grasps and study says that 1.5 ounces of raisin has more than 25 grams of sugar however a cup of grapes has 15 grams of sugar. In other words, when we are using something directly, the chance of that food having less sugar increases.

Let is point out a few foods which are heavily used by us in our day to day life and these are the hidden sources of high sugar in our body, such as:

Energy drink: It has tons of sugar along with caffeine; approximately it has 25 grams per 8 ounces serving. One can of Red Bull has 6.9 teaspoons of sugar.

Soft drinks: Nearly 8.25 teaspoons to 11.5 teaspoon in one can.

Ice cream: 1 scoop has 3 teaspoons of

sugar

Ketchup: 1 tablespoon has 4 grams of

sugar.

Fruits: Mango has 3.2, Banana has 3.0,

Apples has 2.6, Pineapples has 2.5, kiwi has 2.3 and Grape has 4 teaspoons of sugar per 100 grams.

White wine: A glass of 125 ml has 1.5 teaspoon of sugar.

Apple Juice: 165 calories and 39 grams of sugar (9.8 teaspoons)

Sugar is good from fruits and veggies but the moment you move towards the processed foods you are loaded with tons of sugar. Sugar is not basically bad. Sugar is 50% glucose and 50% fructose but has no nutrients value. Foods rich in carbohydrate are rich

source of sugar like beans, grains, vegetables, bread etc. and that provides us glucose which is good. For glucose we have pancreas that secretes a hormone called Insulin but it is good only to an extent after that body gets problem in terms of diseases. Another thing is Fructose which is the most damaging sugar form. It hits your liver like nothing and your body will for sure become ill. Actually the problem is also in the manufacturing process of the sugar. It passes from a complicated process and that involves certain chemicals which are dangerous not only for environment but for human as well. Actually sugar cane is brown in color and in order to make it white it is mixed with sulfur dioxide. It bleaches the sugar cane but it is worst to know that this chemical is the cause of acid rain. Its gas it highly injurious for health too. Phosphoric acid is another chemical used in making of sugar that removes the impurities from the juices. This chemical is also added in your carbonated sodas. It is also a risky chemical and studies say that it is linked with tooth decay. It is dangerous for your skin and respiratory system. Calcium hydroxide is another added chemical which is very poisonous if consumed in high quantity. It causes loss of vision, severe throat pain, severe skin and eyes irritation, bloody stool, vomiting, low blood pressure, organ damage, breathing difficulty and tissue necrosis. It is better to use raw cane sugar as it is less processed and has no calcium hydroxide. Anionic inorganic colloids also known as polyacrylamides are a product of neurotoxin which can damage male reproductive glands and sweat glands. It can also cause urinary incontinence, myalgia, speech disorders, nausea, sweating, numbness and many other symptoms, including feeling “pins and needles” throughout the body. The life of sugar users is always in danger as they are consuming so many chemicals on a regular basis but you can now better judge if the amount of sugar is increasing in your body and what harm it can cause. Now you decide how much sugar you should take in your daily life and how you should control its hidden sources. All this makes me remember that there is an old saying – why to give poison if someone can die of sugar. Indeed you are taking poison in small doses on regular basis.
