Bro’s and Bro-ettes,
Broken Promises
ave you ever thought about your life and all the
stuff you face day in and day out? Just look in the mirror and think about all the stuff you have gone through yourself. You have had family members and friends that have passed away and what is the famous last words out of people’s mouths? Call if you need me, I’m here if you need me. Well, people mean well, but you never know what they’re going through. Some are there for you and some are not. When they’re not, that makes us mad and our feelings are hurt, and yes, we talk about them. People mean well with their promises and I believe they intend to be there. Then there are those who could care less. I found that out when Tank passed away. Everyone is human and has their own problems and stuff going on. Even people in church get hurt every Sunday, someone will say something you don’t like, or they don’t speak to you and you blow up and get mad. Some people will use anything to stop going to church. “I’m not going back! There ain’t nothing but a bunch of hypocrites there!” Just remember that everyone that goes to church is not a Christian. You could look at it this way; you go to the grocery store and Walmart with them, so what’s the difference? No matter how bad we have been hurt by people or think we have, God gives us enough love to cover all the hurt. God’s
people have to show their love to win people to the Kingdom. God made the best promise of all: eternal life and kept that promise by going to the Cross for us. Remember this! Matthew 5:38-39 Ye have heard that it has been said an eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth. 39: But I tell you to resist an evil person, But whosoever slaps you on the right cheek, turn the other to him also. Have you ever thought about how many times Jesus was hurt? But he still loved us enough to go to the Cross for us. Jeremiah 32:17 Oh Lord God, behold you have made the heavens and earth by your great powers and outstretched arms, there is nothing too hard for you. 2 Chronicles 7: 14 If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land. If you didn’t get anything out of this, remember this: The only promise we’re offered is eternal life if we chose to go with Jesus. That promise won’t be broken. In His Wind, Ms. Pat
