The power of the Chanukah candles Some Chasidim of the holy Chozeh of Lublin were suffering. There was a Yid, a Government Informer who made their lives miserable and would harp at every opportunity to inform upon his fellow Yidden to the bureaucracy. Chanukah was drawing near and the Chassidim undertook the journey to visit their Rebbe. They presented the Chozeh with a kvittel whereupon the Informer’s name was written and asked that the Rebbe should intervene on their behalf. However, the Chozeh took one look at the kvittel and stated that the Informer’s name is shining and he cannot detect anything evil about this person. The Chassidim insisted that the Rebbe look again at the kvittel, not believing what they heard. However, the Rebbe once again proclaimed, “I see only goods here, his name is shining!” The Chassidim were in utter

shock. They knew that their Rebbe had the ability to see all, as his name “Chozeh” implies. They wondered, how could the Rebbe not see the bad actions this Informer committed against his fellow Jews? After much investigation, the Chassidim found out that at the very time the Rebbe was reading the kvittel, the Informer was in middle of lighting the Chanukah lecht and the holy light overpowered all the atrocities the Informer committed. If a man who has steeped so low can receive such great benefit in the merit of the Chanukah lights. How much more so, we, who try so hard every single day to serve Hashem with all we have, can definitely reap the amazing benefits of the lights of Chanukah. May we all be zocheh to see the light of this amazing Yom Tov and let the light of Chanukah rekindle the spirit and hope in our hearts.

3 Tips For Optimizing Your Vitamin D Levels
Below are some simple tips on how you can improve your own vitamin D levels. Please take some notes! Vitamin D is a Powerful Disease Preventer By now, you’ve probably heard that vitamin D is really darn good for you. Sure, it helps you maintain healthy bones and teeth, but it also does so much more.Vitamin D actually acts more like a hormone than a vitamin, as it interacts with key enzymes that regulate activities throughout your entire body. Research shows having sub-optimal levels may increase you risk for several conditions, including heart disease, diabetes, multiple sclerosis, strokes, cancer, and even depression. Don’t want to miss out on D’s benefits? All it takes is three easy steps. Here we go. Step One: Take the Right Dose of Vitamin D Most people need between 5,000–10,000 IU daily to obtain optimal blood levels (50–80 ng/ml). If you’re counting on a multivitamin, you’re probably going to fall way short. Why? Because most of them contain somewhere around 400 IU, which is not going to do much to raise your blood levels or help you prevent disease. Consequently, a vitamin D supplement becomes necessary.
A study conducted by the Cleveland Clinic Foundation showed that taking vitamin D with the largest meal increased blood levels by 50% compared to taking it on an empty stomach or with a light meal. Step 3: Follow Up with a Vitamin D Blood Test The only way to find out if you’re deficient is to get a 25-hydroxyvitaminD blood test. It measures the active form of D that is actually circulating in your blood. Before testing, take your target dose of vitamin D for at least 30 days. This way it can build up in your system and you’ll get an accurate assessment. We should also note that it doesn’t matter if you take the test in the morning or evening. Also worth mentioning is the fact that many insurance companies provide coverage for this test. That being said, if yours doesn’t, consider paying for it out of pocket. It’s affordable, it’s essential, and it shouldn’t cost you more than $50.00. The Bottom Line All it takes is three easy steps to maximize your vitamin D levels. Don’t let a simple oversight cost you an easy ticket to disease prevention!
Step 2: Take Vitamin D with Fat AND Your Largest Meal Due to its chemical makeup, vitamin D needs fat for proper absorption. So when taking it, make sure you do so with a fatty meal. Also, be sure to take it with your largest meal of the day. This can make a big difference on how well it’s absorbed.

In the January 1944 issue of Popular Science, the piece titled “Can We Blast Japan From Below?” presents the argument. The author, Professor Harold O. Whitnall of Colgate University, said that “[the Japanese] have made gods of [volcanoes],” and “fear of volcanoes is thoroughly ingrained in the minds of the Japanese.” He went on to say that fear of volcanoes is so great that the act of bombing them would cause “cataclysmic terror.” The point was to not only use psychological warfare, but to turn the volcanoes into weapons of war by inducing eruptions. Whitnall said that after Pearl Harbor, an all out attack on the Japanese homeland should have been accompanied by bombing raids on Japan’s volcanoes to hasten surrender. Obviously, it never materialized. But was it possible? Theoretically, yes. In short, if a volcano is near its time to erupt, a bomb can be enough force to set it off. The proposal reached President Roosevelt, but was never seriously considered.

Humor ;-) Tom, Dick and Harry work in a building thats 600 stories high. Unfortunately for them, the elevator was not working. They made a plan for the first 200 stories, Tom will crack jokes. The second 200 stories Dick will tell a happy story and lastly Harry will tell a sad story. They then started up the steps After 2 hours it was Harry’s turn. He turned to the other two and said “Ok guys, here’s my sad story. I forgot the keys downstairs.
Scientists considered bombing Japanese volcanoes in World War II to trigger eruptions.
