The American dream Joe Samson was a proverbial American Businessman. A business trip found his standing at the pier of a small coastal Mexican village when a small boat with just one fisherman docked. Inside the small boat were several large yellowfin tuna. Joe complimented the Mexican fisherman on the quality and size of his fish. “How long did it take you to catch these fish?” Joe inquired. “Only a little while,” the Mexican replied somewhat timidly. “Why don’t you stay out longer then and catch more fish?” Joe suggested. “Well….with the amount of fish I have caught, I have enough to support my family’s immediate needs” the Mexican said with a smile. “But,” Joe then asked, “What do you do during the rest of the day?” The Mexican fisherman replied, “You see, I fish a little, and when my children come home from school, I spend time with them, I take a siesta which gives me strength to carry on the rest of the day, I help my wife with her chores too. I also stroll into the village each evening where I visit some elderly people in the nursing home. I have a very full and busy life, senor.”

Joe scoffed, “I have a Harvard MBA and could help you. Listen, you should spend more time fishing and with the proceeds you could eventually buy a bigger boat and with the proceeds from the bigger boat, you could buy several boats. Eventually, you would have a fleet of fishing boats. Instead of selling your catch to a middleman, you would sell directly to the consumers, eventually opening your own can factory. You would control the product, processing and distribution. You would need to leave this small coastal fishing village and move to Mexico City, then LA and eventually NYC where you will run your expanding enterprise.” The Mexican fisherman blinked, “But senor, how long will this all take?” To which the Joe replied promptly, “around 15-20 years.” “But what then, senor?” Joe laughed and said, “That’s the best part. When the time is right, you would announce an IPO - an Initial Public Offering - and sell your company stock to the public and become very rich. You would make millions.” “Millions, senor? Then what?” Joe said slowly: “Then you would retire. Move to a small coastal fishing village, spend time with your children, take a siesta, relax in the evening….”

Natural Supplements for Sinusitis
This time of year, sinus pain and headaches are far too common among us. Adding insult to injury, many of us are used to reaching for minimally effective and sideeffect prone over-the-counter medications. Quercetin is Better than Most Medications Quercetin is one of a thousand or so members of the bioflavonoid family. It’s a colored pigment found throughout the plant kingdom. Here are some of its anti-allergy and sinus protecting properties: • When used in nasal sprays with other herbal preparations, quercetin significantly reduces nasal and sinus symptoms, comparable to antihistamine sprays. • Quercetin safely and effectively relieved nasal and sinus symptoms in fast developing IgE-mediated allergies — the cause of many acute cases of sinusitis.
NAC, is a special form of the amino acid L-cysteine. NAC raises levels of glutathione, a potent internal antioxidant. For many years, NAC has been used to treat bronchitis and other lung conditions as an expectorant or mucus thinner. It’s also a powerful anti-inflammatory. Just make sure to take NAC on an empty stomach for the best results. How to Enjoy Winter without Sinus Pain Go ahead and use quercetin and NAC daily this winter to prevent any problems with your sinuses. If you do have a bad day and your sinuses start acting up, consider adding the following to your regimen for a few days: 1. Vitamin D 2. Vitamin C 3. Zinc 4. Olive leaf extract 5. Oil of oregano 6. Garlic extract
• In laboratory studies, quercetin inhibits histamine release, which is implicated in sinus pain and pressure and fluid build-up. As fluid builds up, this increases your risk for secondary sinus infections. NAC is a Natural Mucus Thinner N-acetylcysteine, better known as

Soy-Glazed Salmon Divine baked Salmon in a mouthwatering glaze. Ingredients • 1/4 cup packed light-brown sugar • 1/4 cup olive oil • 3 tbsp soy sauce • 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice • 2 tbsp dry white wine, or water • 2 pounds salmon fillet • Lemon wedges, for serving Directions • Preheat oven to 400 degrees with a rack in the center. Make the glaze: In a small bowl, stir brown sugar, olive oil, soy sauce, lemon juice, and white wine until the sugar has dissolved. • Cut salmon fillets into 4 equal-size pieces; arrange skin side down in a single layer in a baking dish. Pour glaze over the fish, and turn to coat evenly. • Bake until the fish is opaque (15-20 minutes) but still bright pink inside, basting every few minutes with glaze from the baking dish. Serve with lemon wedges.

An enzyme in pineapples called bromelain destroys proteins! If you try to put fresh pineapple slices into your Jell-O, the bromelain will break down the gelatin. If you tried to mix it with Jell-O mix and put it in the fridge, it’ll stay in liquid form instead of turning it to Jell-O. Canned pineapples don’t have bromelain, so you can put those in your Jell-O instead. Bromelain can also be used to ruin a perfectly good steak. A little bit can be added to tenderize the meat, but if you leave it in the steak for a couple days, it gets really mushy. It has the same effect on human tongues. However, your tongue regenerates cells quickly, so you don’t have to worry about eating pineapple (unless you’re allergic).
