Reach New Heights Once it occurred that a man found an egg of an eagle. He placed the egg under a brooding hen and after a while the eaglet hatched together with the chickens. The eaglet grew to be like a chicken and acquired their mannerisms. He clucked and cackled; scratched the earth for worms; flapped his wings and even managed to fly a few feet in the air. So the years passed, the eagle now grown, did not develop into a great bird. In his mind, for all intents and purposes, he was a chicken and as such behaved as a chicken should. He grew old and remained stagnant as all chickens do without ever encountering the soaring heights and perfect flying formation of an eagle. One day, the eagle saw a magnificent prominent looking bird flying gracefully high above in the sky. It glided in refined majesty against the powerful wind with scarcely a movement of its golden wings. Spellbound and awestruck, the eagle

asked the neighbouring chicken, “Who is that?” “That is the King of the Birds – the eagle,” the chicken replied. “He belongs to the sky. We, however, belong to Earth – we are chickens after all. The eagle continued living his life as a chicken as he believed he was one. How powerful is the power of our belief in ourselves? Believe that you can reach the stars and you will. Believe that you are doomed to fail…and you will have no strength to pick yourself up. In order to succeed in life, one needs to believe that they can succeed. One needs to acknowledge that they can effect change if they only believe that they hold the key. The road to achievement and triumph begins with ambition; with a desire to grow, change and aspire. Safer Alternatives for Pain Relief

Approximately one person dies every 19 minutes from a prescription drug overdose, and the deaths have tripled since 1990. What gives? About 75% of prescription overdoses are caused by opioids — a group of highly addictive drugs that reduce the perception of pain. Taking a high dose or using them along with alcohol or sedatives can stop your breathing and ultimately kill you. But before you judge, please note that many of such victims aren’t “druggies” or misfits. A lot of them are everyday people who’ve become addicted after taking them for chronic pain. Luckily, alternatives do exist. In fact, nature has given us a number of safe, non-addictive herbs for pain relief. Below, we’ll go over these along with a few nonherbal options as well. Herbal Options for Pain Relief Pain can drastically impact a person’s quality of life. It can be debilitating and even drive people to commit suicide. Of course, we’re not advocating that people should suffer needlessly from pain, but rather that safer methods should be at least considered for managing it.

Avocado Fries Ingredients: Canola oil for frying 1/4 cup flour 1 tsp kosher salt 2 large eggs, beated 1 1/4 cups flavored bread crumbs 2 firm-ripe medium avocados, pitted, peeled, and sliced into ½ inch wedges Grated parmesan for serving (optional)

Directions: 1.

Preheat oven to 200°.

2. In a medium saucepan, heat 1 1/2 inches of oil until it registers 375° on a deep-fry thermometer. 3.

Meanwhile, mix flour with 1/2 tsp. salt in a shallow plate.

Put eggs and bread crumbs in separate shallow plates.

5. Sprinkle the avocado slices with the remaining ½ tsp salt. Dip each slice into flour, shaking off excess. Dip in egg and then in bread crumbs to coat. You will need two plates to lay them out until ready to fry – do not stack. 6. Fry a quarter of avocado slices at a time until deep golden, approximately 30 to 60 seconds. Transfer slices to a plate lined with paper towels. Keep warm in the oven until ready to serve. 7.

Sprinkle with salt and a little grated parmesan.

Which does seem like a lot...until you compare it to the 100 million colors that can be perceived by one English woman. You see, our powers of color vision come from cells in our eyes called cones. There are three types in all, and each is triggered by different wave lengths of light. However, some people have four cones, which scientists like neuroscientist Gabriele Jordon predicted, could mean that they have the ability to see more colors. To test this hypothesis, Jordon and her team constructed a test where three circles flashed on a screen. To a normal person, they’d all appear the same. Only a person with “supervision” could distinguish between the three. Jordon gave the test to 25 women who all had a fourth cone. One of these women, code named cDA29, got every single question correct. While we can never truly know what this women sees, according to Jordon’s theory, her eyes are in ultra-HD.
