How I learned to study Torah (1) In a little shtetl of Eastern Europe, there was a family whose ten year old son did not want to learn Torah. His parents were beside themselves as their little boy preferred to spend his day running in the fields, roaming the woods and discovering nature and animal life.

His parent’s heartache knew no end, all the other boys in their village were happily going to learn by the Melamed each day and their son had intentions of following suit.

Finally, they entered the Rebbe’s room and poured out their hearts to him. The Rebbe turned his gaze towards the boy who stood with a straight back and his face down. The Rebbe then turned to the parents who were looking with a nervous expression at their son. The Rebbe then spoke,

The unhappy p a r e n t s approached the town’s Rav and obediently followed his advice; but the little boy still refused to study Torah. In fact, where he had once been merely bored, he now became defiant. More desperate now, they enlisted their neighbors for assistance; and when the aid of the neighbors failed, they even wrote to relatives in distant cities. They followed everyone’s advice in turn: the best of it had no effect, and the worst made their son resist and distrust them more than ever. At that point, they began to despair.

Throngs of people were waiting in line to be ushered into the Rebbe and among them were the parents and their ten year old son.

“So, your son doesn’t want to study Torah,” he said in an extremely loud tone. “Leave him here with me for two hours. I’ll give him such a talking to that he will never forget!” The parents glanced around in fear. However, they thought of the advice of everyone else that had already failed. The Rebbe was their last option; they had nothing to lose.

Addressing the underlying cause of high cholesterol

In our previous article we discussed how conventional medicine does not address or treat the underlying cause of high cholesterol. Now lets see what we can do naturally to get our cholesterol under control. So what can you do to practically address your cholesterol issues in such a way as to also address the underlying health conditions that are causing it? The first thing Dr. Hyman suggests is to 1) get properly tested for cholesterol, which includes testing for cholesterol particle size and density. Healthy circulating cholesterol should be “light and fluffy,” he says, rather than small and dense. If it is determined that your cholesterol particles are too small and dense, the next step is to make significant and potentially drastic dietary changes to correct it. Oddly enough, eating low-cholesterol and low-fat foods, including refined vegetables oils rather than saturated fats, is a common cause of chronic inflammation and inflammation is one of the primary underlying cases of high cholesterol and heart disease , according to many prominent health experts.

Natural Homemade Drain Cleaner Unclog your drain with Baking Soda and Vinegar 1. Pour ¾ -1 cup of baking soda in the drain. 2. Pour ½ cup of vinegar in the drain and immediately cover the drain (you can use a plug or set a plate over it – in order to keep everything inside the drain) 3. Leave to sit and work for about 30 minutes (do not use the sink during this time) 4. After 30 minutes, remove the cover and let hot water run through the pipes for about 2-3 minutes. 5. In the case of really tough clogs you may need to repeat – but if this is done on a regular basis (approximately once a month) it will keep your drains clear and fresh without any issues.
