The Purim Song Part 2 …Continued. Shaul Margolis was hurrying home to be on time for the Megillah reading. He was passing through a dark forest when three armed bandits jumped at him. Two of the bandits grabbed him and tried him to a tree while the third made himself comfortable with his bag wherein a large sum of money was contained. “Zhid, get ready, we are going to kill you,” the bandits proclaimed. Shaul begged and pleaded with the bandits for a few minutes to say his last prayers to Hashem. They graciously allowed him and stated “Pray all you want, your God cannot help you now.” Shaul said Vidduy with tears in his eyes. Meanwhile, the bandits were busy counting up his money and dividing it amongst themselves. Shaul’s eyes were closed as he thought of his family back home who were awaiting his safe return. He always used to read the Megillah for them at home and then he would sing for them Shoshanas Yaakov, as he had once sung it for the holy Baal Shem Tov. The mere thought of this joyous Purim prayer made Shaul feel better. Yes, if he had to die, he wanted to die with Shoshanas Yaakov on his lips. Shaul proceeded to sing and sang with all his heart and soul, the way he had sung at the inn for the drunken peasants when he was a

little boy. When he finished, he expected to be killed right away but all he met was with silence. He opened his eyes and the three bandits were looking at him with openmouthed wonder. It suddenly occurred to Shaul that he knew who they were. “Aren’t you Ivan?” Shaul cried out to the first man. “And you, surely you are Stepan! And you, your name is Anton, isn’t it?” As Shaul spoke, he could see that the bandits had also recognized him. Their fierce look was replaced with wonder and friendliness. The next moment the three bandits fell on their knees before Shaul. “Please forgive us,” they begged. They then quickly set him free and returned all his money to him. They sent him off and said, “There will be no more robberies for us anymore. You have turned us into different men.” Shaul was filled with gratitude to Hashem for saving his life. He sped home and now it was clear to him why the holy Baal Shem Tov had stopped at the inn and made him sing. Shaul had a joyous Purim and he and his family prayerfully sang Shoshanas Yaakov after the Megillah.

Can Omega-3s Help Your Kids in School?
Kids are under a lot of pressure today. In order to succeed, they have to do tons of homework, compete with their peers, and get top notch grades.

Well, according to several studies, supplementing withomega-3s might impact a child’s overall school performance. So apart from the obvious, such as after-school tutoring, nutritional changes may be able to give your child an extra edge. Omega-3s May Help Reading Scores A 2012 study showed that DHA (a type of omega-3) improved the reading scores of children. Scientists recruited healthy kids who scored low on standardized reading tests and gave one group of students 600 mg of DHA from algae oil and the other group a placebo. The treatment lasted 16 weeks. The results of the study were interesting. The DHA had no effect on kids who scored in the lowest third of standardized tests, but it did help those kids in the lowest fifth. These kids were able to catch up with their classmates, which is certainly a good thing.

How to Get More Omega-3s Into Kids Omega-3 acids are often lacking in today’s processed, Western diets. That is why we suggest fish oil supplements. Ingredients: • 3 small zucchinis, sliced into chunks • 2 eggs • 1/4 cup matzo meal • 1 tbsp mayonnaise • 1 1/4 ounce package dry onion soup mix Directions: Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a pie plate. In medium saucepan boil zucchini until soft, 10-15 minutes. Mash into colander. Mix remaining ingredients; and add zucchini. Spoon into pie plate and then bake 30-45 minutes. For a greater yield, the recipe can be doubled.

Bir Tawil is a strip of land between Egypt and Sudan that is not claimed by either country. It covers an area of 2,060 square kilometers and has a quadrilateral shape. It exists because of a border misunderstanding. In 1899, when they still had power over the area, the United Kingdom set the border between Sudan and Egypt at the 22nd parallel. However, in 1902, they set a different administrative boundary, which placed a triangle of land above the 22nd parallel under Sudanese control. Egypt claims the original border of 1899 while Sudan claims the one from 1902. As such, Bir Tawil technically belongs to neither of them because there is not basis in international law for either to claim it. And it would be nearly impossible for a third state to claim it as the only way to the land is through Egypt or Sudan. Bir Tawil, therefore, is one of only a few land areas not claimed by a country.
