Imagine a construction site. Tractors and bulldozers are constantly rumbling around, and amidst all the controlled chaos, there is a steady stream of delivery trucks unloading the construction materials. They deliver huge shipments of plywood and bricks etc… And the viewer can clearly see that all the plywood arriving at the site are exactly the same and so are all the bricks.

The fact that all these supplies were delivered to the site doesn’t necessarily prove that each piece is crucial to the project. Some may be used for the construction and quite a few will probably go to waste.

On the other hand, when you see a skilled carpenter cutting different sizes of wood in many different colors, moldings cut to precise measurements, you know that every single piece plays a vital role in the overall production. This carpenter is obviously about to create something perfect. Even the smallest parts are needed.

If not for those little screws, what would all the other expensive parts be worth?

So it is with us human beings. Everyone is different because every person has his own part in making this world a better place. It is precisely our uniqueness that demonstrates our inherent value.

Health

Selecting A Multivit amin Taking a multivitamin is a must for maintaining a healthy body. It’s like an insurance policy against becoming deficient in the most common nutrients. However, if you take a look at all the shelves at the health food stores, you would see so many different kinds of multi vitamins and it can all become pretty confusing. So we will give you a few guidelines as to how to go about it.

A lot depends on how much pills you are ready to swallow. If you just want to take one or two pills a day then you should be looking for a multi that contains a little of everything, but be aware that nutrients like calcium , magnesium and vitamin C cannot be crammed in in only one or two pills. If you are willing to take more pills but you want everything in your multivitamin, than look for a multi that will also give you close to 500mg of C 400mg calcium and 400mg magnesium. If you are willing to go the route of taking different nutrients separately than it’s not important to get C, E, calcium and magnesium in your multi.

Iron

Most people today are not deficient in iron so it’s better to take an iron-free multi. Though women of childbearing age, children and adolescents may be deficient, it is best to first check your iron levels before taking a iron supplement as high iron levels are unhealthy.

Folic acid

Women of childbearing age should make sure there multi contains at least 400mcg of folic acid or even better, 800mcg as it is critically important in preventing birth defects.

Nutrients to take separately

It is advisable to take certain nutrients separately as there would typically not be enough in a multi of these.

1. Vitamin C: take at least 500mg twice daily. This dose will not be found in a

multivitamin.

2. Vitamin D: scientists and vitamin D experts believe that most people should be getting around 5000iu of vitamin D daily, an amount not found in a multi 3. Vitamin E: to get the best results it’s important to take a full spectrum vitamin E containing 8 different compounds of E. This would not be found in sufficient amounts in a multi.

4. Calcium and magnesium: these two minerals have to be taken in higher amounts and in the right ratio. Most multivitamins would not suffice for it.

Take at least 500mg calcium and 400mg magnesium. If you eat dairy, you can take less calcium.

Cold Cherry Soup Ingredients: 1 (16 ounce) can pitted sour red pie cherries 1 1/2 teaspoons cornstarch 1/2 cup cold water 1 tablespoon white sugar 2 tablespoons lemon juice 1 cup sour cream

Directions: Drain the canned cherries; place liquid in medium saucepan and set cherries aside.

In a small mixing bowl combine cornstarch and cold water. Mix well and add to the liquid in saucepan. Heat to boiling point and boil for 5 minutes, stirring constantly.

Add sugar and lemon juice. Stir and remove from heat and chill. When this syrup is cool, blend in the sour cream and add the drained cherries.
